I wouldn't at all be surprised if I forgot a couple songs, and these rankings are subject to change on a whim.

10. Calling the Four Giants (MM)
9. Stone Tower Temple (MM)
8. Clock Town Final Hours (MM)
7. Song of Awakening (LA)
6. Forest Temple (OoT)
5. End Credits (OoT)
4. Gerudo Valley (OoT)
3. Dragon Roost Island (WW)
2. Title Theme (WW)
1. The Great Sea (WW)

The streaks of 3 consecutive WW, OoT, and MM songs are entirely coincidental.

Very nice remixing that the re-reverse is actually the one that sounds reversed now.

Also, since this is the Music thread, Happy Birthday Koji Kondo, lolol

As far as town songs go, I prefer Dragon Roost Island. :bee:

Dungeon Music? I haven't played enough LoZ to decide.... so far, it'd be the original one from the very first LoZ. I can't find it's 8-bit version, but there are some okay remixes here, here, aaaand here. :bee:

Where's Gerudo Valley??? Gerudo Valley is by far my favorite Zelda song.
Would you be so kind and listen to the last music in my list before posting anything? >_>

Edit: But i, to be honest, don't really like it to compare them. Because i like the most of the Zelda Sounds. This one is also good, very relaxing... Lake Hylia (TP)

And so many others... They are good as they are. We shouldn't compare them ;)

Hmm, I guess not. Just look at the difference between Forest Temple and Gerudo Valley, or Shadow Temple and Windfall Island.

Oh, this is a toughie. The Zelda music is one of those types where I could pick a top ten from each game! Give me a sec to pick my top ten...

Screw it, I had to go into twenty. I couldn't stop at ten. You can't give me a measly ten when it comes to Zelda music. Hell, I had a hard time stopping at twenty! I still wanted to put in a few more!

20. Queen Rutela
19. Giant's Theme
18. The Legend of Zelda Underworld
17. Gerudo Valley (OoT)
16. Lost Woods (OoT)
15. All Ocarina Songs (OoT) (I have this as one because they are too short to be individuals, however, some of these appear again, and my favorite of this group is the Bolero of Fire)
14. Song of Healing
13. Palace
12. Temple of Time
11. Hidden Village
10. Great Sea
9. Dark Mountain/Skull Woods
8. Hyrule Field Main Theme (OoT)
7. Hyrule Field Main Theme (TP)
6. The Legend of Zelda Title Theme
5. King Dodongo/Volvagia Boss Theme
4. Dark World
3. Forest Temple (OoT) (This was another I had a really hard time picking one temple of the bunch, cause I love them all, but the Forest Temple had something that made it stand out way above the rest, but it is followed very closely by the Spirit and Fire Temples)
2. Ganondorf's Boss Theme (OoT)
1. Hyrule Overworld (LttP)

My list. Still many more I would like to add, including the short chimes when you uncover something or get an item. Small mentions to the dungeon music in LttP, the small easter eggs by the Zora band in MM, and pretty much everything else in TP and OoT.

Great list! I really like how you put links to all the songs in it. I listened to all of them while working on other things. It made for quite the Zelda suite.

I think my list would be about the same, except it would include

Hyrule Castle
Tal Tal Heights
Overworld (LA)
Mysterious Woods
Ballad of the Windfish
Southern Shrine
Boss Battle (OoT)
Stone Tower
Sanctuary
The Legendary Hero
Inside Ganon's Castle
Kotake and Koume's Theme
Sheik's Theme
File Select

in no particular order

Link's Awakening has about 80 unique and great songs, and they all seem to go unnoticed when compared to other Zelda songs' popularity. I wonder how that happened...

edit: I keep thinkin of things to add, lol. This is definitely not a complete list...

Ocho, serious props for all the LA music you've got on that list. Every song in that game is ingrained into my subconscious, and heart, from years of play time. I can honestly say that the title screen's version of the main Zelda theme is my favorite rendition of that theme. It's just so perfect. It's unfortunate that the LA soundtrack is limited by being in such a simple form, but at the same time, it all works with that simplicity excellently.

Did anyone, when they were playing, imagine that the music was actually being played in that area somewhere out of sight? I only did this in a few area of OoT, but the memory stands out clearly for me. Besides the obvious example of the Lost Woods, where the first time you go in, it is actually Saria playing that you're following through, of course, and Ganon's organ playing as well. In Gerudo Valley, for example, I always had this image of a lone trumpeter standing on the top of one of the cliff walls, playing that iconic line. I never really thought about who they were, just that they were there somewhere.

Of any video game ever made, the LOZ series(specifically OOT) has always had the best music. It makes you feel like you're actually there.
I felt the same thing.

Ocarina of Time still have the best songs. One of the musics that I like a lot is the Temple of Time, cause this music make me travel in my mind.

Yeah, definitely. The Temple of Time's music fits so well that it's almost as if there's a choir in another room in the temple. I actually did imagine that when I first played OoT, in answer to Scott's question. lol

haha yeah me too. when you look up at the ceiling in the ToT and all you see is black(as if to say that the ceiling is really high)
I always thought the voices were in that black 'void' lol.

1. Vaati's Wrath - Minish Cap = Just an epic battle theme for an epic boss.
2. Cloud Tops - Minish Cap = Really gives the true sense of adventure.
3. Song of Storms - OoT = Reminds me of a harbour that I went to in Wales.
4. Midna's Lament - TP = It's beautiful and sad at the same time.
5. Temple of Time - TP and OoT = Really captures the moment inside that place.
6. Dark World - LttP = Another 'sense of adventure' kind of music.
7. Great Temple - Zelda 2 = Nice tune from the older days.
8. Gerudo Valley - OoT = Really good, that's all I have to say.
9. The Great Sea - WW = I love this song when imagining the ocean.
10. Hyrule Field - TP = Legend of Zelda classic.
11. Hyrule Overworld - LttP = No, actually this one was the classic!

<3 The Gameboy Advance music.
