I'm not quite sure I'm getting the drift of that graph, why do the Special just stop? Does that mean Tanks will spawn every 15 seconds when it reaches the 15 minute mark? Or 14:24 to be exact, that's going to be incredibly difficult...

In normal campaigns, 1 tank at a time (though you can get more later if the director hates you). I havnt seen more than 2 other specials with a tank.

And up to 4 specials normally.

5 of each.

Witchs are unlimited.

Umm...

Zombies are endless also.

But. You can only have one smoker and one boomer.

Sometimes you can get three or four hunters.

This is also the rule for survivor and versus.

So then what would be the max number of Tanks out without using The Console? In Survival Mode I mean, and will you be able to change the difficulty of Survival Mode? It only seems fair for the lesser skilled* members of the Left 4 Dead community. Then again, it could be used to cheaply and quickly raise your name in the Leader Boards. Maybe there should be different Leader Boards for each Survival Mode Difficulty.

*I mean no offense, it's just that not everyone plays on an Advanced+ difficulty, but I'm sure everyone here can handle Advanced+.

Well, you might be able to have more then one tank on normal..

Today I was playing Death Toll on versus. We managed to kill the first tank (The City) and we got down from the safe room in the church, when we ran across to the next room (Running threw the car garage after the news van) another tank rushed us.

The next group played, i asked them to run past the first tank, and it spawned another tank.

Yeah I seriously doubt that they would have one setting for survival mode. Although, it is survival mode, so they might and see who can do it and who can't. But at the same time it's almost a new game and everyone needs time to get used to something. But the multi-brackets would be really nice if they do offer different section.

I did have once in vs where the tank was spawned and you killed the bot that was the player, and another bot formed while the player was still the tank. So we still have 4 special infected + tank.

If you go into a vs and sv_cheats -> z spawn whatever, you can get more than 1 boomer i believe? Maybe im wrong, i dont remember. I know you can get more than 3 hunters, and 2 tanks. 2 tanks is a lot of fun. Heres how to do it:

Make friends-only game, get 3 people, including yourself.
Have 1 of the 3 be survivor, other two -> zombies.
Sv_cheats 1, z_spawn tank, z_spawn tank.
lEach tank is human-controlled by default (at first), so you can have yourself a tank fight.

Ive never had to do that. 3 are special, 1 goes to tank, and a bot is left. That's 4 special and a tank.
or you can also just idle the tank till it turns AI, then you have 4 human special and a tank.

Corn- One time, I was playing infected @ end of death toll. I spawned a bunch of tanks after the survivors died. I threw a rock and it got stuck on the tanks and insta killed it. I rinsed and repeated. I dont know if it works if the tank moves, but it's still kinda epic.

I haven't heard anything about difficulty levels for survival, but personally I wouldn't mind there only being one difficulty. Could imagine people forgetting which level and either charge though a horde and get ***** or not charging when needed and having people die.

And if whoever was asking about spawning, if you meant in survival mode, there will be multiple tanks. I can't wait ^^

Can I make a suggestion on having the Survival mode one of he first ones? I have lots of hw and I like to get some sleep before school the next day. A full campaign on vs can take 1.5-2 hours. That's a lot if we do all 4 =/

Some of the people in the group aren't able to get on at an earlier time, and I'd like to try and save the new stuff for later, so they can have a chance to play it.

Running through No Mercy and Blood Harvest first will give us a chance to warm up, however, if enough people come forward with this being a bad time, we're open for rescheduling.

Yeah, Because DT and DA isnt geared for versus but it still has those campaign shenanigans.

I think when we did that map, all five sections. we had a total of Seven tanks. (Two in Finale)

and two on the city.

Edit - When I play with my friend on his server, we always start out as suriviors on No Mercy. Before he force changes to the next map he always spawn the enemy team as tanks plus one AI tank and sees if any of us can make it to the safe room.

We had my friend SnackPacks make it to the alarmed car before the tank smacked it into him.
We call it running of the tank.

We can do that via cheats if someone has their own server or does local host.

I keep my friends in place with a medpack while the Tank runs at them often for the hell of it. Who knows what we'll do to grief each other. Oh I'm looking forward to this.
