lol, I didn't even want it critiqued that's why I didn't post it. I only asked allbrex to do it because I felt like having a video with commentary.

I watched the first match

- You did decently at the start. Not approaching Falco and getting grabbed until around 30% is key.
Shooting arrows when in the air against Falco is a nice strategy in this matchup since you can curve your arrows to hit Falco but his usual SH Lazers won't hit you. Most Falco's will SH lazer on reflex so this is a nice little way to beat their initial strategy.

- Nice use of U-Tilt when you were boxing. In this matchup D-tilt can help too since it outranges Falco's jab. I'd also say more F-Smash since it is fast enough to compete with Falco's boxing to a degree, and deals great damage. lol @ Falco's SD :p

- Remember that when on the ledge, alot of Falco's like to drop then short-hop phantasm back onto the stage. Angel Ring inturrupts phantasm. Thus whenever you think he will go for it just Angel Ring. If it does inturrupt phantasm he will fall straight down and have to up-b. This is when you gimp him ;D
Also since Angel Ring inturrupts lazers it is good for counter-approaching.

Good to know. I caught him in a nair toward the end of the match so what you're saying makes sense to me.

I think the Ike video though is the most on point for my skill level/tactics for better or worse.

Hmm ill go back and watch it again. Ik that if hes coming in on me nair beats his options and if hes SL gliding then he would be forced into freefall mode if he cancels b4 ground which means i can hit em with lazrz/nair as well. Thx for the input. I am still learning all opportunities.

Is Esca really that good >.<

I still vote for luckay best pit
First of all, you can learn from anyone. And yea Esca is legit. I'd think of him as top 5. Luckay is good but i dont think hes in top 5 as far as results go. But hes definitely up there. However if we were going by current pit mains instead of use to pit mains (like we did for our picks) then he might *possibly* be in top 5. I just dont know enough currently active pits to state it.

I mean I'm not amazing but I'm really good in the matchups I know. I was the only Pit to make it out of pools, and I got 2nd seed next to Ally. That's pretty good if you ask me :)

What matchups are your favorite/most-known?

Guys, we need a interview thread for Pit mains, we're starting to see a lot of activity, and it might help those who don't know all those great Pits like Esca, Kool (if he even frequents SWF) and Vex. There are more I'm sure :3

Pit boards are weird. They sort of flair up everyone so often, and then die down again. I remember there was a time when Sagemoon almost went active again.

My favorite matchups are probably Lucario, DK, and D3.

If anyone wants to interview me, I'll be free to answer any questions.. I have nothing to do with my spare time and can help yall out.

god damn i wish i could brawl people consistently or at least have a wii to practice my tech skill on. im on the verge of being respected and such but until i get to keep practicing what logic taught me ill never be anything more than a shadow to someone like esca. idk about luckay as i have to see people play in tourney to judge their skill, but man it's depressing. on one hand there are times when i do really great, like when i 2 stocked zeton at halberd. and then i just get impatient and fall to old habits again and get 3 stocked by zeton at final destination.

i just don't get why i can't be amazing at this ****. all i do in my spare time besides cook and work out is study matchups, theory craft, and study other pits just wishing i could understand why all the work i put into trying to get good at this game just doesn't ever pay off.

it is just so frustrating because im too dedicated to wanting to be respected in the brawl community on more than just arrow loop control and chaingrabbing. but im too bad at this game to have my dedication pay off. i still can't read people and play off just reaction. whereas logic showed me how he was picking up a bunch of peoples habits in 30 seconds or less. yet all i can do is see that they have this many options and could choose any of them when i should see, they have this many options but are only ever using these ones and should capitolize on that.

and i think it is because when i play i try to camp to hard it distracts me from trying to do anything else besides camp. so until i get better at this game on the part of reading people and being proactive instead of reactive, im completely dropping any right to give people advice on any match up or video as i feel i have tried my best but overall am a failure as pit. i mean esca saw how i did so just ask him whether im good or not and he will give you the honest truth.

sorry guys but i just can't post as an advisor until i beat illmatic, jerm, leaf, or trela in friendlies at least once. i mean all i can do is be good for like a match (hell i may even play well above average that 1 match) but then they can just read me. it's unnacceptable that i can't read people and it is time i went out and bought a wii and started practicing

lol you don't have to be good to have knowledge. Most of the time it's the other way around. Don't compare yourself to people like Logic though.

Just get better bro:troll:

Lol but seriously, 1) always make sure to have fun,2) use your arrows to learn how people react to pressure and zoning(this helps learn habits) 3) watching good pits only goes so far(for the most part-it is always beneficial for learning some peoples gimmicks and setups) but once you pass a certain point it can actually make u worse. Your better off watching vids of yourself and analyzing those. Though i've never particularly done that i leave that for other people cuz im lazy :p. But in doing it yourself it helps you learn situations and generally progress as a player if u can recognize why the bad things happen. Honestly, i play maybe once a week and i still am able to progress and get better. Playing in training or against a com or on wifi are only good for very little things. Keep GOING OUT and playing those people. Save the matches, get SOME recorded go back and watch em study yourself pickout what u did wrong and change it. If you want to get better keep playing those same people.

all of you make very valid points. @kuro i would watch vids but i don't have the ability to record them and such. however my bro tesh records any vids saved on his wii and posts them (you guys can actually look up me vs OZZ's fox on his channel) but ill have to ask him to post some of my bad videos as he only puts up good matches/combos as opposed to just normal matches. mayb then i can give myself one of my own match long critiques lol

favorite mus....
luigi, wario, peach, marth, olimar, snake, fox, wolf, and falco are my favorites. while 2 of them are some of pit's hardest, they are still really fun to play against for the most part.

@lenus, i keep forgetting to say my thoughts on your vid. you have a great pit. i feel that the only things you need to work on are some match up specific tactics and moar grabbing. honestly that is all i see. ask people about a specific match up to learn specific tactics and then implement them and you should be fine

You arrow looped at the wrong time once and it got u 26% dmg. You used fsmash too late in his stock. Its best b4 50 or after 100-110. A couple times you threw out a move when he was no where near u. Hmm i dont remember anything else from it being particularly wrong. Might wanna try to get better at SDI i guess. Also be careful with pits airdodge. Since he has low air speed it can be dangerous for him to AD. It cost u a stock once. Also, once he got in kill % you started *searching* for the kill. Dont do that. Pressure them into mistakes and punish for the kill.
