Spain is amazing too, haha. They dominated the whole game! Except the part where the fan ran onto the field... I think he was dominating that part... but other than that? Did you SEE that amazing header? Did you SEE it?

Hi Lucas! We're a fairly small board but we're getting bigger and we've had a good bit of activity. This thread lists most of our topics and shows which are the most important and whatnot. Link's a lot of fun to play, even if he does kinda suck. And yes, zair and bombs will be your bestest friends playing as Link; that and your brain. You've gotta stay a couple steps ahead of your opponent.

And yeah, Legan is very legit, and fun to watch. KirinBlaze and Scabe are also really really good. And I'm not sure what you can find on them, but what I've seen of ArkiveZero and Deva are also really impressive.

@Lucas Perfected: I'm going to venture a guess and say you mained Lucas? IDK why people say Link has a high learning curve when he doesn't. When your opponent is close, D-smash. When he's mid-range, approaching Z-air. If he's approaching, bomb him to death. If he starts winning too much in an offline, smack him. If it's an online, ragequit. Works fine for me.

Haha, sounds like me. I was getting kinda tired of always playing Captain Falcon, randomed Link like three times in a row, kinda liked him, so I went online to see what top Links looked like and found Izaw. He's not one of the very best Links, but he's very good and I saw enough of Link to think he looked fun. That and I was tired of having a main I didn't like as a character outside of his absolutely amazing pink outfit (or rather, I've never played the F-Zero games).

The only reason I picked up Link in the first place is because I love his voice actor. No joke. When I'd picked up Brawl, I'd constantly up-B just to hear him go "HEY-AH!". And, then, I discovered D-smash . And, THEN, I bought TP .

Samus I tried after the Prime trilogy (amazing, btw) and ZSS because:

1) Her D-smash is FUUUNNN.
2) She runs fast and combos well enough.
3) I'm a nasty perv at heart.

Why do I main Link? Because Link is freaking awesome.

Why do I second Wolf? So I can look at my brother and say "Can't let you do that Star Fox!" and shout out various Peppy-isms midbattle (when he floats with his reflector - "Try hovering!")

Why do I also play Falcon? Because I like to show you my moves.

To be honest the only real reason I like playing Link is because of his bombs. Soo much fun to just blow stuff up. Even in a 2v2 TA off I can still discipline my partner with bombs, and they can do nothing to me.

Well that and when you beat people with Link and then they go like Meta or something and then you beat them again. They will totally freak out. Well some of them. Thats what happens when you use high tier, you don't learn to play well.

Most Link mains usually have a bomb in hand. I spam the 'rang so much my Link might as well have it in hand. Sure, you can do much more with the bomb but tripping Bowser with a simple Boomerang is lulzy. Predictably, however, I dash attack and u-tilt>u-smash juggle as a followup.

You mean shield when it comes back at you after hitting someone to avoid the lag of catching the boomerang? Yeah, that's recommended. Well, that or being in a position such that it will fly past you.

See, now, that hurts. I've been on Link for the past year and I don't do that too often and LucPec figured that out in a week.

Somehow, I'm sure Sakurai is to blame for that, too. XD

And don't worry, i mained Link back in January after i beat some MK's, but then the competetion got tough, so i picked up some other people. Now i'm back at step one, but Samus is still my favorite, lol

Samus I just don't get. She's amazing at walling an opponent off using only projectiles but apart from that, IDK. Her d-tilt is funny, though. Enough damage, bang! and you're all "waaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh....." and she's all "pwnd by a tiny boom".

The Samus Boards are really cool, though. Hell, anybody who can main a character with kill moves I can count on one hand and legit tourney her has my respect.

LP, you have my respect. If we ever wi-fi, please don't whup my @$$.

Edit: you said you picked up Link because of TP. You play Earthbound games before?

Yeah, you and Scabe and Huggles and all those who actually are good think they ain't. I've been really neglecting Brawl lately in favor of Monster Hunter Tri's online. That game has virtually no lag. At least, it doesn't drastically affect gameplay.

Using Zair to cancel out the rang lag is best.

Also, I'm glad you guys have finally accepted my obvious superiority to you all. My secret to being da bess is me being on a two week vacation to Florida starting today, haha. We're going to all the Disney parks and water parks the first week and spending the second at a different timeshare on the beach.

lol, I always DI when i get hit (Normally Bair, Uair, or Dair to try to cancel momentum. I don't do much after the knockback ends

Bair is usually Link's best choice for momentum cancelling, and dair is good if you're going to be star KO'd. I tend to save my double jump, throw a boomerang, and recover low if I have the choice. I probably need to mix up my recovery game a little more.
