Hey cool Ano is a moderator again. :D

Also sorry dudes for not being around, I usually just lurk around. Just message me if you ever want something done, but looks like Ano is around to do that stuff. But just keep that in mind.

DAAAAYYYYYYMN. That is the baddest ass sig I eva saw! So do you always play as Dark link or is it just for looks? I used to do Dark but then moved back to red (my preferred 64 color).

@Heero: Sweet, nice skin :cool:
edit, darn auto link to users' names didn't link who I meant again. First I meant Zantthepure than Heeroyuy but if I type a shortened version it links other users :/

I may have something good happen tomorrow but I don't want to say until I know for sure...

I use blue Link when I'm using someone else's Wii. However, on my Wii particularly I like this skin more than the blue palette swap so what I do is set this black skin on top of the blue skin. Therefore, on Wi-Fi and stuff - on my screen I see my awesome black skin while they see my blue skin.

P.S. It's not my skin, it's Akari_Un's.

That's sharp, man. In melee I always used the black tunic during 1v1 and ffa but my friends and I did a lot of 2v2 so it was usually red. I've thought about using skins for brawl but I couldn't find an Ancient Hero/Hero's Shade one so I just never bothered with it.

The weather's been nippy; be sure to wear a jacket. And don't run with swords; it's all fun and manslaughter until somebody loses an eye who you didn't want to.

I loved the amazing ketchup effects with the arms falling off. Top ten all-time movie special effects. Ketchup ftw

Oh hey guys, what's going on in this thre-

Oh cool, Ano's a mod again! Awesome!

Oh cool, Believe the Legend! Nostalgia!

Oh cool, Monty Python! And the Black Knight! What a great movie, I need to watch that again!

Might try getting back into Brawl again here, I'll have to see. Still have the problems of not having anyone to play and having a life now.

I'mna try and capture some footage of Link with the banana infinite on Diddy without fastfall, so I'll post the video when I can get it.

Nice! A friend of mine mains Diddy so this might come in handy for some laughs/wtf's.

I'm really liking how busy this place is becoming. I, too, understand the hardships of having a life; but, you can't not play! I have a laundry list of people on here I want to lag-ditto but I have to find the time first. Come to think of it, is anyone free to wifi Monday (have the day off of work because of MLKjr day)?

Back in college! Aka the only place I don't play let alone think about Smash. No more Brawl/P:M for a little while and will be available again in a few weeks! :)

That is if you wanna fight a really rusty me.

I should be available from 5:30 pm CST onward. Just a heads up though, I'm awful on wifi, like... the worst.

So I'm not sure about the rest of you, but I happen to be a pretty big Dynasty Warriors fan, and Hyrule Warriors is quite possibly the hypest thing in my mind save SSB4.
Tell me I'm not the only one still gushing about it right? The scarf, the extra armor, the return of Link's white sword, the badass techniques, and the battle/orgy of D.Warriors gameplay has me reeling in excitement.

And for those of you whom I did not meet before resurfacing:
I am Zane, playing since SSB64, and quite possibly the only Link main in Texas for Brawl.
Marth is my Secondary, but only for friendlies as I only use Link in tourney, of which I have participated in no fewer than 17 tournaments from the span of Mid 2008 to present, 4 of which were regionals. My placings aren't anything to write home about, but the best I've done is a solid 9th place out of 40 in a local tourney circa 2011. I have a decent breadth of match up experience with some of the south's best players, and I've had the privilege of watching the metagame evolve from it's near infancy. Forum wise, I was part of the second generation of Link mains (the first of which had a nasty tiff a long time ago with the staff, but water under bridge nowadays) who joined when the wealth of his existing players went to AiB, and very slowly dwindled there before returning to SWF. A small note that despite my join date of 6/6/09 I have relatively few posts due to massive lurking habits in earlier years, but I've made sure to poke in from time to time, until now while I'm active again and eagerly awaiting the next installment.
As a side note, I happen to be a good acquaintance of AeroLink (who would be the best Link in the south by my count) who has moved to P:M and no longer mains Link outside of mid/low tiers, but he is still another fabulous Link and both of us had the pleasure of playing alongside the legend Deva once upon a time.

TL;DR I've been around for a while and I'll be around for a long time, so let's all be pals ^.^

Too bad ALSM quit Link in main events but I can't blame him. At least he still plays Link in low tiers. I think Legan does that but IDK what he or most of the past Link mains are doing anymore :( Hopefully people will return for SSB4 (until they see Link is horribly nerfed in that too). Only a few people go all Link in main events anymore; I know LordXavior and myself do and it sounds like Zane does too :awesome:.

Hyrule Warriors might win me over IF it has fun motion controls like SS did. I'm broke and won't get it for a while either way. I'll maybe save for the next Zelda and SSB4 if I can.

I might be getting rid of my old big CRT TV when I move which means Brawl will lag on my flat screen :/ Do you think there's a chance I could sell the TV on Ebay or something? It's a nice panasonic 27 inch but everyone likes flatscreens now. *shrug*

Hopefully I'll get this next place. I got screwed out of another apt by someone who said they were moving then ended up doing nothing without telling me (never rely on people). I need a place that's cheap but not too far from where my grandma lives and all the property values have skyrocket after the flood. Something about a natural disaster that displaces thousends of people makes landlords think the properties are worth more and makes even more people leave the large area . I might end up moving really far away with an annoying commute  but hopefully not :urg: moving's expensive and I've been going since September. I'll stop b****ing now.

Well, I finally downloaded the wi-fi safe version of PM onto my SD card so if any of you folks would like to play just let me know :)

I'm also willing to do some Brawl too if any of you'd like.

Sounds good, I'll be on around then (think that's 6:30 my time?). I'm terrible on wifi as well. I'm quite a bit younger in terms of playing competitively so you'll have that on me as well. I'll just try not to embarrass myself, haha.

As for Hyrule Warriors, I'm warming up to the idea more and more as the days go by. I eventually realized that there are simply times in the history/lore of Hyrule that simply cannot be told with the current format of Zelda games, but they deserve to be told nonetheless.

@ Rizen Rizen If I ever get good enough (hopefully with dittoing the Links here it will happen) I'll see to repping Link in the upper midwest. I don't really have any time or interest to learn to play any other characters so it looks like I don't have any other choice but to go all Link.

@ H HarryTheChin If you don't mind playing some brawl I should be free tonight and tomorrow.

@ Harry GGs the lag sucked but oh well.
You had a lot of extremely unsafe approaches even in heavy lag. DAC is not a good approach I punished that a lot. Obviously lag stuff we have to do in lag is very unsafe in better connection or offline play. Things like Dair, spin attack and Usmash are very easy to punish in general.
My general advice is play safer with less committing moves. In that lag we couldn't really do much anyway.
Also don't use ATs unless it's the right time specifically DAC and planting a bomb on the ledge; those look good but mostly did nothing useful.

You have a good balance of projectiles/melee in spacing. Try to use that but with less commitment and a bit more passive aggressively. Some of my characters could really exploit that aggression.

GGs those were fun :)
@ Naroghin Naroghin I'll play now if you want?

Okay. Some other time.

I got a new pro controller and it makes Monster Hunter so much less frustrating, lol. @ Ano if your controller is messing up I strongly recomend getting a new one rather than enduring the hunter stalling every 15 seconds.

I admit I've discovered Steam so I no longer feel obligated to throw my time into MH, ha ha. I've touched the game once in the last two months, and that was just because some friends wanted to hang out and play it at a club social.

My controller's problem seems to be a bad left stick and occasional freezing. I bought it from Hong Kong, and I think I got the Chinese deal on it, ha ha :p

Which means I got ripped off. That's what I get for trying to buy it cheap. Even off of Ebay.

It's also why Steam has converted me. I have no money, so Skyrim for $7.89, and XCOM: Enemy Within for $15? Yes please good sir.

It's also why I don't go to tourneys/smashfests right now. Oh money how I love you so

Steam is great. Skyrim is awesome, and a friend got me Fallout: New Vegas for Christmas. I really like it, it's got a dark feel to it (post-apocalyptic futuristic western 'Muhrica ftw!). Although I've been playing through a bunch of old Megaman games lately, mostly the X games. Megaman too good. Probably gonna dual main Megaman and Link in the new Smash :awesome:

BTW, Ano, if you haven't played it, I'd very highly recommend Bastion. Beautiful game and worth every penny. And about the controller, you can get a replacement Control stick/C stick and a screwdriver for like 5 bucks plus shipping on the Amazon store thing they advertise. I got a couple of those, they aren't quite the same as a stock control stick but they're pretty good quality and will save a controller if that's the only thing wrong with it.

Due to the fact I didn't enjoy Apex too much this year, I have the urge to pick up another fighting game. I'm gonna start playing Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition, really soon. Am hoping some skills I develop in that game can translate over to Project M.

Also I think I'm quitting Melee. I'm looking forward to Smash 4 more than ever now.

Man, things are getting real in here!

I feel all of my poor brethren out there; Steam is great, but just... too many games. Be careful.

Edit: Anyone down for wifi tonight? I'll be free at 10ish EST. Eh? Eh?

Heero, stop ragequitting and just practice ;)

I'm for playing anybody tonight. I'll be hanging around for the next hour or so, so go ahead and post here/private message me and I'll get with you. Even if I don't appear to be on Smashboards, ha ha.
