I've typed of lots of posts in word pad recently regarding topics people discuss here but I've always had post anxiety because I don't see you guys that often. I feel like I have no validity but thanks to you theo I'm more confident. I will post more now.

To be honest theo bro I'm pretty racist against spacies too even though I play Falco but I take shelter in the realization that at high level play mindlessness is muffled by precise conceptual play. I hate falco dittos though :p. Those will always be stupid.

Btw bro you mentioned falcon among the tech oriented victory characters. I disagree with you.. to play falcon you need a lot of MU knowledge and control. He is very difficult imo. Probably the most difficult good character in SSBM.

I won't see you guys for a very long time. Probably not until the summer but I definitely won't miss any tournaments or fest this time when I'm around. I've made breakthroughs with my depression, anxiety and I've toppled my driving phobia. I'll have some confidence.

Thanks bro

cant wait to see you man

oh and i agree with the falcon bit, only i think there are still a minority of falcons who actually cross the bridge from aggro to controlled

that's why so many people think falcon is useless compared to the spacies

he certainly might be worse, but is definitely still viable

Yo there was a lot of stuff said on the last few pages.

I hate reading about people saying you can play Falco mindlessly. Falco is far and away the easiest high tier character to combo, kill and gimp and any good player knows how to deal with lasers. Most people super suck at DI'ing Falco's combo or reacting fast enough to get out. That is the only reason why people ***** about Falco so much; learn the match up.

I play aggro sometimes still when I'm just goofing off or just trying to do cool combos, but against Adam/Aasem/Kevin etc I have to play super safe, space really well and combo really hard or I get *****. More importantly, I have to combo in nonstandard ways in order to **** up peoples' reactions and DI. It is WAY harder to beat someone who is really fast and has amazing spacing than someone who plays rushdown.

I enjoyed the whole post but this part was my favorite.

theo's just mad because he's not legally allowed to marry DJ in the state of north carolina.
I liked this a lot.

in other news, i gets mine. i waited till i figured out that i'd probably end up marrying her.
this is also great.

Haha waiting till marriage. You gotta test drive a car before you buy it, ya read me?

Inb4 pp states that I am a drinking sex machine and he doesn't approve.

Lol.
now what am I supposed to say??? =(

I was about to post concerning my anger at nc, but now I'm SUPER pissed at cam. So you went home after skipping out on dinner with us and decided to do THIS? I am so going to chaingrab you

loooooololololololol

lol aasem why are all your dreams smash related.....

i only beat dop in like..... 6 matches or something..... :(

and he 4 stocked me on FD :( (oh the pain)

i like playing that guy though, if i dont pay attention, i'll get ***** badly....

but if i do pay attention, it's close, but not a guaranteed win... it's quite stressful, especially with falco, probably the most stressful character.... i was definitely getting pushed... and when i didn't push back, i payed the price, which doesn't really happen when i play other NC people, so thanks a lot for that Dop :)... yesterday certainly helped me improve, i'm moving closer for sure, i can feel it :bee:

i know you won't read this audi, but i <3 playing you

DJ, get ****ed up

crystalt1ts, you're mediocre

Moo, stfu you didn't even come

Chris, ggs, step it up, quit gettin so down on urself, i dont wanna hear no ganon johns that **** only holds you back (i can read your thoughts)

EDIT:

nah jk, i like your spirit :colorful: (♥0♥)
quoting for enjoyment and need for people to read

one thing important to notice vs peach as falco is that bair goes through all her aerials except fair, which takes a long time. So unless she's coming in with a fair already set, then you can just bair her a lot of the time. If she's far away, wait and try to catch her with lasers at the end of her float, or just work on your positioning, by getting on platforms to set up a bair (or hopefully dair if you can manage it).
But Peach does Fair early so much on Falco for this reason so F

I think a lot of space animals get ***** by peach because they don't have a strong neutral position game because the characters can get away with ****** people at mid and low levels with just technical efficiency.

To fight peach in both fox and falco MU you need a very strong neutral position game and awareness of spacing.

When I started playing dop at first it was bad but I just thought about it and focused on my spacing and neutral position game and things changed for me. The result was becoming more conservative and being more chess like with my gameplay. In turn I got better at every MU except falco dittos in which I got worse because the same concepts don't apply.. (seriously wtf falco dittos, the neutral position is just two falcos trading laser hits). I see this idea in high level too. Axe for example, he loses to peach a lot as falco because his falco is so aggressive. But! he's great in dittos. This happens to Shiz too. Apollo took a game off him at noob 3 and remember that Falcomist set? Same **** happens when you play like that versus marth. I mean he still won but barely.

I think one of the humps of falco is being very "controlled" because now a days the other characters have developed meta games around the super aggressive falco style. Sometimes I wish I had started playing SSBM with a character like Marth or ganon which really really relies on fundamental play.

The aggressive style of falco is so poker like. You are just gambling on whether or not people are going to react to your mix ups. This is why PP is so good his game play is so fundamental but he also has strong technical skills to apply hard damage. PP can also switch his style up if he notices a drop in his opponents defense. He had the same problem at one point though with falco dittos because of the style he developed he got through it though.
Nah you can approach more effectively and accurately and make it work for you super well. Mango does this and dang it you do not challenge Mango I tried everything fuuuu

Nah but seriously that was a good post. Falco dittos are incredibly tough and can be wayyyy more complex in the neutral position than you think. I'm not ready to discuss them yet because I need to study GFs first to be sure.

slasher,

are you ****ing kidding me!?!?

this post

omg

cant believe

i actually read

an nc smasher

who's not pp

post like this

omg my mind

i am so very content with the world right now

because of this post

you have made my day

omfggg likeeeee

i am so happy right now

that you have said all of this

i agree 100% with everything here

thats exactly why i quit being a fox main
i wanted a fresh start at the game
one that analyzed the game from a non-"im gonna ruh you down with stuff that i think might work and then pray you dont know how to react to my super speed" standpoint

its why i am somewhat "racist" against spacie mains

its why when im watching matches, i feel like sheik/marth/peach should beat the enemy fox/falco/falcon; its just way more pleasing to see them win spacing wards and punish harder with well calculated position/combo reaction than seeing a fox n-air someone 50x into upsmash

im also very pleased to see how you look at pp's falco apart from other falcos. that's also why i am always so amazed by his falco. mango, however, also has that playstyle. i think that's why people in 09 used to say mango had the least spectacular falco; he always just did what was "correct, nothing flashy." but now, just like pp, they have both stepped up their combo games and pressure mixups so things look better and are even more effective.

i am so gald u posted that slasher; everyone in nc could use what you have said, especially because most of them main fastfallers
If you move somewhat fluidly then it can still look flashy because combos are flashy and yeah lol.

and then come monday kevin'll crush everyones dreams.
lol when do I ever do that smith I mean really

I think Fox is easier to combo.

Rushdown is hard but rewarded pretty well in this game if you do it correctly(see people like Shiz and Mango).

@kevin: That's why when you see her do early fair you must run!

Also, I find ganon and cf easiest to combo, with probably like marth or sheik next. God I suck at comboing spacies.

It's hard to run if you see that and a lot of the time you can guess wrongly. I dunno man I've tried that stuff and theory never agrees with practical results for me. I'll work on it I guess.

Spacies are so fun to combo though wtf lol.....can't you just kinda copy what good players do to combo them?

Yeah well kevin you eat poop

I didn't say to completely copy them.

Taking from them parts of their game is a great idea so you're not re-inventing the wheel or at least understanding why the wheel ***** so you make a similar but better wheel but the analogy sucks if I do it like this.

You know what it's supposed to mean LOL don't make it confusing. XD

Also you know there are certain things that will make you better as a player for knowing/doing(how you do them or when you do them can be up to you obv) so yes there's plenty of wiggle room and you abuse that more than most so I understand why you'd say those things.

If I knew a definitive answer(even if only mine) to this question I would have beaten Mango's Falco game 3 and not game 5 last weekend.

.........perhaps there's hope for me yet...
To be fair, I have no idea if the real answer is a limiting one or not, but I feel like Melee has more potential than we really understand given the fact that Mango exists(playing him was one of those convincing things lol).
