In all fairness to square enix, the ending of KH2 is set up for Birth By Sleep, the normal and the secret ending. But yeah, what should of happened is between 2005-2009 more should have happened with the other games to come out faster.

Well, isn't Versus rumored to be dead? But they really need to start progress with the 3rd KH game. KH 3D is almost out, and after that is KH3 in terms of story progression.

It is rumored to be dead. Assuming it is, that would free up Nomura's team to work on KH3 as opposed to Versus.

But with that being said, it would still be another 2 years lol.

Though the other rumor I heard was that they are taking Versus resources and putting them into FF15. Don't know what that means.

If they do do that and decide to start 15 first, we might not see KH3 until its 15 year anniversary.

At first Nomura said a perk for KH3 was that it was going to be using the same combat system as Versus. So if that didn't get scrapped, KH3 might have the gameplay a good amount of the way done, but who knows.

There is rumored (as in, I'm pretty Nomura has said it before in an interview) that there is one more game before KH3 releases. We don't know if it's more of a spinoff (ala Days. I KNOW IT HAS STORY, but most consider that a spinoff and I don't consider BBS or KH3D a spinoff) or if its BBSv2. Most seem to believe it'll be BBSv2 and detailing the ending of BBS. I won't say it just incase someone hasn't beaten it. and IDK how to put the black boxes over it. Or some think it might be a game to try to summarize all the stories, because Nomura has also said he'd like to have a way to make it easier on gamers to play all the games without having to get different consoles/handhelds lol.

If anything, it would have to be a re-cap game. Which I can basically ignore, like how I ignored Coded.

Really? Personally I enjoyed Re:Coded more than Chain of Memories and Days. Gameplay was good, and the ending cutscene that progressed the story was nice. But yeah was lame that the ending was the only part that mattered haha.

Well my friend played Coded and said it wasn't a good game. He got bored of it, so I never bothered.
Chain of Memories was OK, and Days was good.

A re-cap game would be pointless as it doesn't do anything but re-cap everything. I already played all of the KH games (except for Coded,) so there is really no point in me buying a game to tell me what I already know.

Well, Nomura isn't worried about the hardcore fans. He should know they'll buy a handheld or console just for the game. But say you have a friend who you get into Kingdom Hearts. "Oh, but now you need a PS2, PSP, a DS, and/or a 3DS to continue the series." It's really hard for new people to get into the series because you have to dish out hundreds of dollars.

I liked Re:Coded's gameplay, and the combining of moves again like in Birth By Sleep. I liked the gimmick closing the keyhole stages too, those were fun.

BBS and KH1 are tied for my favorites. And I don't think it's only nostalgia that slightly has me say KH1. Loved how you interacted with the worlds, healthy length for the game. The worst part by far was the stupid camera. Cave of Wonders fight is a nightmare in KH1 LOL.

My favorite was Birth By Sleep as it changed the combat system for the better. (Although 3D's flow motion may beat Birth By Sleep.)

KH2 was what got me into the series, so that game still holds a special place.

The best part of Days' story: "But who's gonna have ice cream with me?". Made me crack up so hard. XD

But the multi player was fun as hell if you had friends to play with. Which is why I don't think that Days was complete garbage. Plus, it also gave some back story to Roxas and the Organization.

Days was my first KH game in a long time.

The (pre-recorded) cutscenes were nice, and overall I enjoyed the game.

Missions were far too tedious, just like Chain of Memories battle system. It didn't make seeing the story enjoyable.

Also, I guess Versus might not be getting cancelled we're finding out a week later. Interesting

replaying KH1 and 2 just cause
KH1 is annoying

whose bright idea was it to make it so that pretty much every enemy kills you in 2 hits

How do you die in KH1? o_O

Even on expert, the only fight that is annoying is the Cave of Wonders fight because the camera is so terrible and you run up the stupid glitched caves head and stuff.

You know Strike Raid gives you like 15 seconds of invincibility right? o_O. And MP Gift with Goofy makes you never run out of MP.

KH2 is way easier than KH1

not only do you just mash X and triangle, you get those stupidly broken forms that let you glide around the screen making you a demi-god that traps everything in your dual wielding spinning key blades of death

i'm not even level 30 in KH1 and i'm on expert, you die in 2 hits to pretty much every enemy that isn't a shadow, it's friggen stupid, it's not that hard, it's just annoying that you have to play perfect or else you die

it's either that or let goofy do all the work

KH1 is harder than KH2 yeah, but KH1 is still ridiculously easy even on expert. You get unlimited invincibility on a high damaging move and an unlimited supply of MP due to making goofy just MP Gift you. They had to nerf/change it for a reason, Strike Raid spam was OP, and even more OP with MP Gift.

Like, you should only die if you're spamming Ragnarok and Ark Arcanum because those moves don't have invincibility. Everything else is easy lol I can sit back and beat KH1 on expert without sitting forward and not die (since I've done that before in my expert playthrough) :p

If you haven't learned 10 years later, aerial combos are much better than mashing the ground x x x combo. a lot slower/vulnerable doing it from the ground. Should almost always be jumping during fights =p

KH1 expert mode was only hard if you went to deep jungle before wonderland, and didn't pick the shield as your weapon first...and once you get cure all the difficulty melts away anyway

oh, and some of the gummi ship missions are somewhat hard if you don't customise your ship lol

seriously, guard and dodge roll make the game so much easier, and once you get counterattack + undeflectable weapon...

I never played KH1 recently so I never really exploited the game. I played 2 a lot though and exploited everything there. Guard was really OP. The obvious glide and cure tactics were good too. It's a shame that the bosses had some neat ways of beating them, but most people never discovered certain details because of how easy the game was.

I lost my save file on KH2FM+ with my level 1 Critical mode playthrough. :ohwell:
Maybe I should start that up again.

I don't even really consider it exploiting.. its just impossible to not notice "oh wow I cant be hurt during this 15 second move" and then MP Gift is clearly the best move in the game. Goofy gives up 1 MP for you to get 3 MP when you're low. Toooo strong :). Dont use Ark Arcanum or Ragnarok though. They're pretty poopy in comparison and dont have invincibility. Most notable during the ending of both moves.

Yea, I just recently got guard, it makes the game so much easier

And then you go to atlantica where you can't dodge anything

KH2 was so easy, that I never used Drive Forms unless I wanted to level them up to get their specific abilities.

For me, the thing that made KH1 much easier was Tinker Bell; she's the only Summon to stay on the field indefinitely, doesn't cause your party members to disappear, acts as an auto-Regen for the party, and acts as an auto-Life for Sora. She's especially useful against Kurt Zisa, and yes, she can be summoned at the start of that battle if you navigate the menu fast enough before it locks your magic. The only bosses I've noticed she cannot be summoned are during any of the Coliseum battles, seeing as Summons are not allowed, and (for some reason) Phantom. She received a huge nerf in KH2, as she was no longer her own summon, but instead came as an add-on with the Peter Pan summon, who dismisses party members and has a set time limit.

I never once used summons in Kingdom Hearts 2, and magic a few times when I first got it, then only did it on rare occasions to use cure. I could pretty much just slash through the game with ease. While I recall needing Tinkerbell, and I think I even used Genie a few times, and magic in general a lot. My memory is a bit foggy, wow it has been so long since those have come out. Pre-ordered the latest one, not sure when I'll be picking it up though.

So, I was at Walmart to buy a new hard drive for my 360 when I noticed they were already selling copies of KH3D (Regular Edition.). Still glad I pre-ordered collector's edition.

Picked it up just now, sadly I have to go to work first before I can play it. Also, I would like to remind people to use spoiler tags when talking about key points of the plot of KH3D.

I watched the trailer for KH3D and, although it seems really interesting and cool, I'm still waiting for KH3. Sadly, I don't have a 3DS so I couldn't play it even if I wanted to, but I've never been able to beat a spin-off KH game. I didn't beat Chain of Memories (for PS2, I just stopped before the Maleficent fight because I hated the card system and got bored), I didn't beat 358/2 (I got stuck at Beast's Castle where I had to fight the thing on the bridge), and I never even played Birth By Sleep. The only games out of the KH franchise that have really been all that great, in my opinion, were KH1 and 2, but that might just be because I suck at hand-held gaming.

I'll mail you my 3DS with Dream Drop after I beat it so you'll be able to play it.

However, I have to agree I am so much more looking forward to KH3.

This is probably the most challenging Kingdom Hearts game. No joke. I feel legitimately challenged in proud mode without nerfing myself (ex. kh2 I'd only use kingdom key to make it harder). It might just be me not adopting to the new battle system yet, although I feel I have it down, haha.

I think this is the best one. Only towards the end of world 1 too (wont say the name just incase people care that much and I do want to keep this spoiler free) (And by world 1 I mean after Traverse town)

I've died twice on proud mode. I'm having a real hard time getting to my cures super fast. I like to shortcut the move at the top of my list, and I put cure at the bottom so there arent gaps when I just want to spam moves.

I really dig the movement and combat. Although I'm kind of OCD and dont want to use guides/internet and catch a big spoiler from someone not covering a spoiler, so I've been trying to make a bunch of dream eaters to see what moves I can get. I already have some move for Riku where he swings with darkness, then the next swing is light haha.

The game is really beautiful. I know "graphics dont matter" even in my books, but dang, it's really beautiful :p.

Are we able to do that 3v3 Dream Eater battle over wifi or does it have to be locally? Playing some people would be fun lolll I think I'm pretty good at it

I like playing as Riku more than Sora though, because Riku using the dream eater ultimates are way cooler than Sora's gimmick with them lol.

It's also nice getting games I want for free XD. Okay, not for free, but I just trade in games I don't play anymore because I don't really get nostalgic about wanting to play them.

Let's say the only KH I played was 1 and the GBa Game, and I read the story on of KH2 on the Wikis. Would I understand this 3DS Game and enjoy it?

It does help if you have already played the previous games of the series to have a good understanding of the story, but there are Flashback cut scenes that pop up every now and then in the game that will give you a brief summary of what happened, and what is important to the story at hand. You can also read all of the character bios as well as the notes you get to further explain things.
But it is worth noting that you should read up a little bit on Birth by Sleep's story, as it is fairly important to whole series story.

Also, as for the game play, this is definitely harder on Proud mode. I need to spend at least two drops leveling up so that I can stand a chance.
