actually Chill, those things happened in the credits. I dunno if it actually means they happened, but it's safe to say that they do, plus the stories are basically done with.
I was disappointed that they didnt bring in Gaston for Beast's Castle, but looking back at it, it wouldnt have fit with the story going on in Beast's world.
My favorite villian was hades. He's so cynical and funny. I always laugh when you start to fight him and he dances around.
The world that felt the most out of place to me was Pride Lands. Nothing really relavant to the story happened in there. So Pete was there and some heartless, big whoop. But it was really cool playing as a lion, though.
What happens in the credits is showing what goes on in the worlds later on. Just as in the first game you were able to see charcters like Aladdin and Jasmine reunite.I think its safe to say those events did occur. Plus only four Disney worlds from the first game made an appearance in the second one, so retiring some worlds seems likely.
I agree with you on the Pride Lands level. It just seemed so out there and unimportant. It was great fun to play but it didn't seem to matter much. Pete didn't seem to even have a reason to be there.
I was suprised that the mirror from Beauty and the Beast didn't make an apperance. I think it would have fit into the story perfectly.
Ah yes, the introductory 3-5 hours. Ironically it was my favorite part of the game. After that, Disney kicks into overdriv, which isn't an inherently bad thing, except that it just takes too long to get back to the main plot. Not to say I mind the Disney plots, but in my opinion they tried to stick too close to the original movie stories instead of creating new stories which intigrated parts of the movies into them, which made the fact that Sora was never involved in said plots glaringly obvious. The only world's which really succeeded in pulling that off without butchering the orignal movies in my opinion were Aladdin's world, Beast's world, and Hercules world. Of course, the Disney worlds were infinitely more well done than in the KH1, but then I recall spending a whole lot more time in worlds like Hollow Bastion and Traverse town in the first game, as well.
I do agree about Pride Lands. It was fun, but did not advance the plot at all. I think it would have been difficult to do so while still maintaining that every character is altered to look like a jungle animal. I mean, Sora/Donald/Goofy aside, it was hard enough to take Pete seriously as a lion, let alone
Xigbar or Saix
. Speaking of which,
those two really didn't seem to do much for how prominantly they were ranked and how often they were seen
. However, it was a nice break from the usual control style, so I enjoyed it.
I will say that the more and more I think about it, the more I hated the voice acting. I mean, in the entire intro, the voice acting is amazing, but as soon as that part of the game is over, it goes downhill fast. It isn't bad with new characters we haven't heard before such as
Auron, Diz (who actually was amazing, but that's Christopher Lee for you), and most of Organization 13 (except Xigbar, his voice pissed me off)
, and the core returning cast such as Sora, Donald, Goofy, ect. but the voice casts for the disney worlds were IMO terrible. Maybe it is my fault for watching too many movies, but there seemed to be huge gaps in original voice casting for every world except Hercules'. The worst for me were Port Royal (mainly because of the fact that they followed the movie almost to a tee, but without most of the colorful background characters which made it interesting, and with voices that didn't sound much like the originals) and Pride Lands
(anyone but Jeremy Irons as Scar is a crime against nature).
And Gilbert Gotfreed (sp?) needs to not shout every line he has.
However, the notable absences in the disney casts were nowhere near as bad as the changes made to the Hollow Bastion crew. Perhaps it was because the voice casting was so perfect in KH1, but in the Final Fantasy area, the voices did NOT live up to its predecessor.
Cloud
seemed to be the only original voice they kept and while that voice to me is the most important of all of them, it does little to comfort me in regaurds to
Squal/Leon or Yuffie
who respectively sounded genuinely cold and vibrant in KH1, but sound respectively bored and needy in KH2. They pale in comparison to the changes to
Xemnas/Ansem/Xehanort
, though. Whoever does that voice in KH2 sounds nothing like
Billy Zane (who did his voice in 1).
That wouldn't be so bad if he ever sounded genuinely menacing or evil, but he sounds so apathetic. However, the biggest crime against nature was
Aerith/Aeris
that voice was so bland and uninspired that whoever it belongs to needs to never speak again.
I guess my point of the above complaint is that the game is still amazing, but the voice acting, aside from in the begining, was not as good as KH1, and came close to ruining it for me in a great many parts, and Square Enix would do well to not make the same mistake in any future KH games. End rant.

I hate that freaking Anti-form. That's gotten me killed during numerous boss fights. It wouldn't be so bad if you could use items, or magic, or SOMETHING that lets you heal.
1) This game is completely awesome.
2) It takes a whole lot less time to complete if you skip all the cut-scenes like I'm doing for my second run.
OMG Final form is the best form man!!! It is so ***king cool and the magic is great in this form.
Yes, anti form can be very gay. It is fun to watch, but you don't get exp when you kill things, you can't heal, and you take more damage. It can be good against bosses if you have scan on because you can just beat the boss up becuase it has endless combos and then you can just run around and wait for it to run out and kill him or something.
Same here. Completing Jiminys Journal is just way too ridiculous for me to try that. I've put in eight hours and I'm at the same point that took me 24 hours to get to before.
Did all of the final fantasy characters besides Cloud get new voices? Leon doesn't sound the same but maybe it's just me.

Yes, they did. Right down to Sephiroth. Actually, I never bothered with Sephiroth in the first game as I know his reputation and don't really have a death wish, so I wouldn't have known the difference. Anyhow, as I said before, pretty much all of the changes were for the worse. Auron's voice was pretty good though.
Auron's voice was the same one as Final Fantasy 10. I just don't get why they got James Arnold Taylor to do Jack Sparrow. He doesn't even sound like him.

I agree. I just don't understand why they switched everyone out. What, they make this spectacular sequel and they get budgets cuts or something?!?!?!?!
Did Mandy Moore (Aeris, I think), David Boreanaz, Lance Bass (<-- thank God he got switched out) and the others think they got paid too little for KH1? Were they disappointed with the game? Are they stupid and don't realize that millions of people worldwide played KH1 and subsequentely KH2?!?! I just don't get it.
Honestly, I don't understand the voice changes either.
Quite frankly, Aeris is the only one that actually annoys me.
Sephiroth I was HAPPY about, thank you very much.
And as far as
Ansem goes, once I found out what was REALLY up with Ansem in the first game, it actually made sense and I didn't mind so much. I loved Ansem's voice in KH1 more than his Nobody is KH2, but DiZ's voice still takes the cake for me.

Maybe they blew the budget on Christopher Lee so they had to recast a bunch of the FF roles with smaller VAs. Maybe they were busy likemaybe David had work to do for "Bones". Who knows.
Does Christy Carlson Romano actually voice Yuffie? I saw online that she voices Yuffie in KH2 and Advent Children. I haven't seen Advent Children in English yet, but it doesn't sound like her in KH2.
Also, you randomly drive into Final Form after the "fight" with Roxas, right?
I want to know at what point I have the chance to do it.
I'm going through on Proud Mode, and this time I decided to wait until I had all of the pages before going to 100 Acre Woods, and wait until I had Thundaga (and everything before it) to go to Atlantica. I'm planning to go to Atlantica, skip all the cut scenes, and just do all five songs in a row.
Also, as far as Sephiroth goes, can you fight him at any time you want to? I've done the
1,000 Heartless fight
at Hollow Bastion. Also, if you can fight him any time you want, does his level increase with yours? I assume that if I leveled all the way to 99 and then went to fight him, it wouldn't be inherently easier.
Also, can you return to Timeless River in the way that you return to all the other worlds after the fight I mentioned above. It never even occurred to me to try to go back there on Standard mode.

According to my research, someone named Mae Whitman plays Yuffie in this game. And the people that played the characters from this game are supposed to play the people from AC, I guess that means that's who it's gonna be there too.
That's exactly when Final becomes avalable. And how to get it.
You can fight Sephiroth when
you beat Space Paranoids for the second time and Hollow Bastion becomes Radiant Garden.
And you have to go through Disney Castle to get back to Timeless River, but there's a save point right next to the door so you're not really going through the entire area again.
Wow. Mae Whitman plays Katara on Avatar: The Last Airbender, one of my favorite shows of all time.
And about Timeless River, I mean that if I go back there, will there be new stuff to do like when you go back to the other worlds? Or is it just that you can visit the area again?

Yeah. I'm just asking because all the other worlds (excluding Atlantica and 100 Acre), you go to them once, then to Hollow Bastion for what I consider the "midway" point in the game, and then you go BACK to all the worlds again for new stuff. I was just wondering if there's anything new at Timeless River if you go back there after the halfway point.
There's nothing new at Disney Castle. In fact, once you restore the cornerstone of light, all the heartless are gone from teh castle except for the ones in timeless river.
How long does it take you to go through the alley? Do you have any drive gauge left when you're done? And if so, do you think thet you can you make it back to that save point in time and leave? If so, then that would be the best way.
See, I pretty much left Valor and Master alone once I got Final (I never much used Wisdom to begin with), to which end the Alley isn't much help, as you get experience toward Final Form by killing Nobodies, not heartless. And actually, there is an end to the heartless in that area. A ridiculously distant end, but an end nonetheless.
I'd have to say that there isn't really anything special about timeless river when lvling your forms. For wisdom you go to "the world that never was" at the beginning bcuz there are a s*** load of heartless. And your valor form you can lvl anywhere.

Well you dont have to make it all the way through the alley to the Brink of Despair. I just stay in the first section cause heartless keep sprouting up indefinitley, and once i get near depleted, i just turn around and go to the save point and leave.
I must say, i do beleive that Kingdom hearts2 is the greatest rpg ever made. *slaps duck tape over the mouths of ff7 fans* Oh man I know its coming now.

its definetly a rpg, its been modifed like most rpg's coming out now out of the turn based traditional rpg, but its definatly an rpg, but im not really comparing to ff7 directcly anyway, Anytime i say a game is better than or even suggest that a game is better than ff7 the ff7 fanboys have me for lunch.
Just keep using your forms. It's random and it will happen to you at some point. If all your forms are leveled up I'm suprised it hasn't happened already.
You can't do it until after the cut-scene where Sora fights Roxas. After that, you will randomly drive into Final Form while trying to use one you already have, like the Anti-Form. Also, your gauge must be at 5 bars.
The easiest way to do this is to just keep entering the Cerberus Cup until you get it. You start the tournament with a maximum drive gauge, so just drive immediately. If it doesn't work, Retry the cup and do it again. I got Final within three times of doing this.
And unlike the Anti-Form, once you drive into Final Form it is added to your menu.

Actually an even easier way is drive, then before your drive bar is depleted, go to a save point to a world map, then go back down and your drive bar will be max and drive again. But when you drive you have to be in battle.
