So why does this affect K. Rool and not Diddy, who was put in Brawl years after Rare left Nintendo?

The point I was making is Diddy's original creator was no longer around during Brawl's development period, but it clearly didn't affect him getting in and I seriously doubt Sakurai sent an e-mail to Rare about Diddy during Brawl's development.

Nintendo still uses Diddy. There is clearly someone who has 'final authority' on contemporary Diddy.
We havnt seen a real K Rool.....in the relevancy argument.

I am not arguing that it is the absolute, just possible.

Hey. Sorry I haven't been active here. Been distracted. But, I come with a new idea as to how K. Rool can be indefinitely unique. After Ryu was revealed, I was scared to hell and back because of how different he was from the other fighters. I felt as if he raised the bar for uniqueness. But then I realized something. Ryu pretty much confirmed any rule can be broken in Smash. So... Hell, what I'm about to propose is completely possible.
I call this "Feigning".
It's a simple concept, really. In a nutshell, K. Rool can look like he's about to do one Smash attack, when in reality, when the button is released, he does a different smash attack. The way this is done is that the player starts a smash attack, but immediately flicks the joystick to another direction, while still holding the a button. So say I start a side smash, but aim the joystick upward immediately after while holding the button still. I will still look like I will do a side smash, but in reality I will do an up smash. This concept I've only worked out for smash attacks, but I'm sure it could be extended to other things.

Sorry I missed it. In a thread as big as this one, it's tough to keep track of everything everyone says.

I think, if Namco had the final say on K. Rool, they'd still do a great job. The Smash team already made a pretty good Diddy, and in Sluggers, Namco gave him some pretty faithful animations...he chucks his bat at the pitcher if you hit him with the ball, and one of his strikeout animations is playing dead. And that was just in the context of a spinoff baseball game.

To be fair, I don't think this is really something to worry about. Diddy and DK are very faithful to their Rare era appearances in Smash 4, and I don't see why K. Rool would be any different.

Diddy much more than DK. DK has all the animations but he doesn't even throw a barrel.

Well, for those of you who have been keeping track of the calendar, this video is relevant...

We're now halfway through the Smash ballot's lifespan and against all odds, seemingly still in a good position to achieve success from it. Everyone in and out of this thread keeping #KrocTheVote going strong is responsible for this, so hats (crowns) off to you all.

We may get our King as soon as August, in October, later, or not at all, but until we get an official confirmation, let's keep on driving those votes in, because you can bet that the competition will be doing the same.

I support K. Rool coming back. He has a lot of moveset potential & DK needs more representation. He could also be a very expressive character like Duck Hunt, Dedede, and Wario too, which would make him a fun and enjoyable character to play as.

I hope they give him the voice he had in the Donkey Kong Country cartoon if he does make it in.

While I definitely want King K. Rool first, I would definitely not mind Bandanna Dee or someone else from the Kirby franchise. A personal choice of mine is Marx from Kirby Super Star, I feel like that's highly unlikely.

Dixie Kong would be pretty interesting and I would vote for her as well. My final choice would be Banjo-Kazooie, but I don't know if Nintendo would want to go through all of the licensing troubles.

I think that most people, including myself, don't know the dictionary definition of several. We assume that several means "many". However, as SonicToast on Youtube brought up, "several" does indeed not mean"many".

As defined by dictionary.com, "several" means:
being more than two but fewer than many in number or kind

So, in reality, getting only three more characters is a very sound conclusion and a possibility that must be considered.
