Banjo is probably still high in the rankings, his large spike in popularity with the tweet should be enough for Sakurai to consider them regardless if the results declined over time.

Yeah I think the reason this is, is because there are TONS of banjo fans out there and right as they heard the tweet they were all for banjo in smash. But I don't think ALL those banjo fans were ALL consistent smashers. There are so many banjo fans that there's bound to be MANY that don't play or follow smash consistently. It was the situation of "yo did you know microsoft gave the thumbs up for banjo in smash!?!?" "DUDE REALLY, I played banjo as a kid and that game was DA CHEEX!!!, BANJO4SMASH!"

Microsoft giving the thumbs up for Banjo in smash literally doesn't mean anything. It doesn't improve his chances of getting in over our lovely, beautiful, wonderful, King of the Kremlings, K. Rool (in the flesh). Nintendo isn't going to be used to promote their rival company because 1. That's stupid and thats about all I need to explain. Would Banjo be cool, HELL YEAH. Is he ever going to happen, nope (unless Nintendo buys Rare back *cough cough you should get on that Nintendo*)
To keep this thread relevant to K. Rool, I like his pharoah outfit.

The thing, with people still pouring in votes from public computers and what not and the fact that we don't exactly know how much multiple voting from an IP or such is tracked, I feel like that one spike is going to end up being pretty buried.

That's ontop of the entire "Owned by Microsoft" factor.

People said Nintendo would never spring for Sonic in Smash. This board was just talking about not giving up hope. That said, BK aren't exactly high on my priority list, nor do I consider them "likely", but I still can't bring myself to completely give up hope either.

It is true that banjo is still unlikely BUT hope is never lost for any character. Except Shrek & Goku. Sorry miiverse :laugh:

I give Banjo and Kazooie, Conker, and Zitz about .001% chance. Would I love them to be in, yep, but I don't think its gonna happen. Now back onto K. Rool. Do you guys think he'll get a game with his Pharoah outfit in like a egyptian themed Kremlings.
@ Someguyyoulikelydontknow Someguyyoulikelydontknow They basically said that to be like, "HEY NINTENDO PUT OUR CHARACTER IN SMASH!" Nintendo and Sega are like the best of buds now. Never implied they were in the 90s. I just said there is a difference between Sonic and BK, one is owned by Microsoft and one isn't.

I never posted this because I wasn't in this group at the time but made some K. Rool miiverse art on 5/22/2014. Not many people got to see because I posted it to my profile by accident but here it is. Spent like 1 1/2 hour making this lol! Was so devoted and hoping he was going to be announced, then the Fire Emblem nation attacked the newcomer position and it never happened :/ Here's to his DLC announcement though :)

I've heard NOTHING of the sort about Microsoft complimenting the WiiU.

And there's a thick line between what is present with Microsoft now and what was with Sega in the age of Brawl.

Could be called the origin of Console Wars.
One of the most iconic gaming characters period.
After the crash of the Dreamcast, Sonic appeared repeatedly on Nintendo consoles with a number of exclusives on home consoles and handhelds. Series has gone through ups and downs but still had Nintendo games coming out fairly frequently.
Started a spin-off partnership series with Mario specifically in late 2007.
Was a third party company who made games for various consoles.

Banjo-Kazooie
Two stellar games on the N64 that are often held as the pinacle of 3D Platform-Collectathons. Then 2 Medicore games on the GBA that are almost never brought up. Then an Xbox 360 game that fans revolted at.
Has a future shown so far as being Microsoft-exclusive, last Nintendo game was early 2005, not made by Rareware or Microsoft but third party THQ.
Is owned by a direct competitor in the console market and is based heavily in the US. Like it or not there is some level of friction between Western focused material with Eastern companies.
I loved the original Banjo-Kazooie & Tooie but they're now bound to Microsoft with basically no hope for a true Nintendo game to come and there really isn't a case that they are historical gaming icons like :4sonic::4pacman::4megaman: & Ryu.

:snake: got in as a personal favor between Sakurai and Kojima first proposed in the time of Melee. He's an outlier to the data.

Are Bear & Bird impossible? No. But I wouldn't be holding my breath for them even with GiveTheBearLotsOfAir.

If we get a Pharaoh K. Rool in a main game, I hope he gets more details that are showing that he actually is a pharaoh.
I always thought their "Pharaoh" design is week. But I think they wanted him to be still King K. Rool.
So if we get a REAL Pharaoh K. Rool, he should have one of these:
It'd be a lot more clear that he actually is a Pharaoh.

But how would you feel about a "Kowboy K. Rool" or "Kaesar K. Rool?" :p
(Kaesar = Caesar. It doesn't work that well, I know...)

The difference is night and day. By the time Brawl had started development, SEGA had been a third party company for years and worked with Nintendo many times, including releasing multiple Sonic games exclusive to Nintendo systems. Microsoft is still currently a direct competitor with Nintendo in the console business, and has been for the past 15 years.

Also, Nintendo and SEGA's rivalry is more from the early 90s with the SNES and Genesis. By the time the fifth console generation rolled out, SEGA was falling fast behind its competitors, and you know the rest of the story.

I liked K. Rool's pharaoh outfit... I really enjoyed the way they managed to put the pattern of his cape on his new attire.
The only major thing they messed up on was having his regular old crown there. The should have just made a tiny version of the Pschent.

And just for humor, give the Hedjet (upper crown [white]) a stripe to look like a bowling pin.

Also, K. Roolius Caesar needs to happen...

I had a thought for a game idea the other day and I figured I'd share since it's kinda K. Rool related. I was thinking of a hypothetical Mario themed Stealth game, staring Wario and Waluigi (giving him some non sport/spinoff love) as well as Captain Syrup and Kaptain K. Rool as 3rd and 4th characters to choose from. Like imagining have to pull off a heist in the Mushroom Kingdom and beyond, avoiding various guards as you break into iconic Nintendo places such as Peach's Castle, the Kongo Bongo, and even Bowser's Fortress as you plunder coins, stars and other valuable items.

I thought of Wario being a physical specialist and the strongman of the group, Waluigi specializing in explosives and traps, Syrup performing feats of acrobatics or stealth to bypass normal defenses, and K. Rool being able to command Kremling Kutthroat minions and use projectiles.

If Captain Syrup is -too- far out there for obscurity, alternatively, you could take Daisy in a new direction and turn her into a bad girl if only to differentiate herself from Peach. A 'Queen of Thieves' approach.

I had the thought of potential characters for this idea, and I'd like to reserve Bowser and the Koopalings as bosses and people to steal from, even as the ultimate heist. K. Rool came to mind after following him for so long, and his Pirate persona would fit great into such a game. He'd likely task Wario and Waluigi in stealing Donkey Kong's banana hoard to prove that they are competent thieves before helping K. Rool steal the Crystal Coconut, and then allowing the Wario Bros to use his ship and his Kremling krew. Never hurts to give the King more exposure, even if it's not necessarily in a DK game.

I wish I replied to this sooner, but I have a little bit of criticism if you don't mind; hopefully it doesn't come across as being a little harsh :p You obviously don't need to go with any of my criticism/suggestions, but I thought that I'd put it out there in the case that it could help out.

1. Get rid of this due to redundancy with reason 2.
2. Keep this.
3. Change this to something along the lines of "K. Rool is an important part of the DK series"
4. Keep this.
5. Keep this.
6. Keep this.
7. Either get rid of this or change it to something along the lines of "K. Rool would help add aesthetic variety the the roster".
8. Either get rid of this or change it since it's a little too vague. Perhaps change it to something like "K. Rool has played the role of a king, pirate, evil scientist, and boxer, and these could easily translate to a varied set of alternate costumes". That may be a little too wordy for what you may be going for, but it would be fine to use the idea if you can word it in a manner that you find appropriate.
9. Get rid of this.
10. Keep this.

Possible suggestions include that he's amusing as a character, that he has great boss fights, and that he could be a projectile-based heavyweight.

Hopefully this post could be of use to some extent :)

I'm glad K Rool is getting the love but I really hope he doesn't get the moveset that video suggested:

- Crown throwing shouldn't be an aerial
- Head charge as a side special is boring
- Ground Pound is boring
- Blunderbuss propelled dash is not as boring but doesn't feel right to me
