A direkt order from the Kaptain:

Looks like "Kaptain K. Ook" is in the house.

The JWittz just uploaded a Top 10 Smash DLC video, and K. Rool was his number 3 most wanted. Another big YouTuber supports K. Rool.

Just finished watching, thought it was a very well-made video. It's so nice to see people from all corners of the Internet banding together for the common goal of getting K. Rool back into DKC and Smash. And he was even kind enough to RT the recent illustrated moveset by @ Zombie Saurian Zombie Saurian . 121.1K potential Twitter viewers is absolutely nothing to sneeze at.

If it did then it would be awesome if there was a DK story chapter where you fought K. Rool and had to beat him in order to unlock him.
That'd certainly be nice. Something like Melee's adventure mode would be preferable. It's not like SSE was awful; it was fun a couple times, and the cutscenes were cool, but it sort of took away from the main game. This time, I think the opposite is true, where the game felt sort of hollow without an adventure mode.

But yeah, Diddy and DK vs. K. Rool and the Kremlings (They can literally just rip the Kremlings out of Smash 3DS) would be awesome!

Also it'd be like a cool preview to their return in future DKC games.

I spent $222 from one paycheck on adorable little Godzilla figures.

Godzilla (1964), Manda, King Ghidorah, Baragon, Ebirah, Kamacuras, Kumonga, Hedorah, Gigan, Megalon, Jet Jaguar, Mechagodzilla, Titanosaurus, Megaguirus... AND YET I am still not satisfied. Collecting Godzilla figures was a hell I regret entering.

K. Rool thread huh? WHO GIVES A GOOD GAHOOLY.

If anybody has a Gabara figure from the first set of the Future Boom line, I will give you exorbitant amounts of money.

Also Manda from the Zacca set. And Hedorah from the Soukougeki set.

Again, huge loads of cash wads.

I think that, unless you have prior experience with the games, K. Rool is an acquired taste. I know I was always ambivalent towards him until I went back and re-experienced the games again in greater detail, at which point I started to appreciate the subtle nuances and creative details that set K. Rool apart from any other Nintendo villain.

I'm an ardent believer in the notion that education is the best way to change minds, and there's no substitute for playing the games yourself to get a feel for why K. Rool is so popular and beloved. You don't have to like him or support him as a character, but it's still good to understand exactly why people are so very fond of him.
Um, I'm a huge K. Rool supporter and I've never played a DK game with him in it. (I will once I get an SNES) I love K. Rool's wacky style and his approach to facing DK and the crew. I honestly started liking him solely because of Smash speculation I did in like 2010. (Blame Pizzadudemanguy)

With JWittz retweeting my moveset, this could give our beloved King some excellent exposure!

Here is something I want to ask K. Rool fans. What made you a fan of K. Rool or want him for Smash? When did you start becoming a fan of K. Rool?
I became a fan as soon as I started spekulating Smash 4 kharakters in 2010. Since I never got the opportunity to play any games with K. Rool I never knew of him till I watched a roster of Pizzadudemanguy (except Mario Super Sluggers but I was like 9 and just said kool when I unlocked the Kroc lol) Ever since then, I was a huge advokate for K. Rool and I thought it was a crime that he was ignored from Smash even though his minions were in. What made me a fan was his unique design and krazy kharakter. He just appealed to me and I became a fan.

Wow, and I thought Villager Amiibo's were expensive.

Everyone, we should all learn to love @ Oasis_S Oasis_S . Quite an awesome guy if I do say so myself.

Interesting. I haven't seen a supporter that hasn't played a game where he was the main antagonist in (or at least watched the cartoon beforehand) so this is quite rare of me to see.

I'm quite a big video game fan (I'm 14) and with all my hobbies, I tend to research into them, very extensively. I've done so with comic book superheroes (Marvel and DC only), Pro wrestling, and of course video games. Honestly, K. Rool is probably my favorite Nintendo villain.

If we're talking about things unrelated to K. Rool, can I just say with today's announcement of Dragon Ball Super, the only announcement left to make 2015 the best year ever is K. Rool as a DLC fighter.

So if you had to choose between seeing K. Rool in Smash 4 or seeing him in DKCR3, which would you pick?

Smash. Easily.

K. Rool will return to the games when it is his time. The Koopalings came back to NSMBW after not being in a Mario platformer for almost 20 years. K. Rool in Smash will guarantee his immortality as a character. Plus, the idea of playing as K. Rool in Smash Bros. is just a much more fun concept than fighting him as the final boss in a platformer.

My thoughts
Your thoughts make me cringe. You reak of bias towards the Kremlings, your post couldn't make it more clear. The way you talk about the Snowmads makes it seems like you've never even glanced at Tropical Freeze, lol

I like him because of my love for the DKC games. While I'm personally more of a fan of the Snowmads, I can't deny King K. Rool is the more iconic enemy. And if handled with care, he could provide a very fun moveset if he were put in Smash. Also, I've got lots of friends who were turned very sour to the idea of K. Rool in Smash due to...some of his fans and their preference for the modern DKC games. I'd love to see him get in just for their reactions, lol

I remember always being such a K. Rool fan back in the day as far as DK characters and villains go. He embodied everything I loved in a villain, goofy, dangerous, always coming back for more, cheap, low, crazy, cruel (heh), always stepping up his game, and I can keep going on and on. The games and especially the cartoon funnily enough were direct factors as to why I've become such a fan. Technically I wanted K. Rool since Melee when I heard Bowser became a fighter but I thought to myself back then that it would most likely happen eventually on it's own next game (big mistake). His long absence and omission from returns irked me a little but that was of a time when I was just grateful Diddy was back. Tropical Freeze's reveal however, made me go into hyper drive with wanting the Kremlings to make a comeback. 2 games in a row with such a long absence just seems unfair. It's also why I'm not much of a Dixie supporter despite me also being a really big fan of her during the Brawl days, she came back and I'm happy.

Me actively wanting K. Rool to make a return through Smash came about when those Kritters were revealed last year. It may not seem like much but to this day it seemed like it's a sign that Sakurai is pro-Kremlings since it would've been easy to have it be just the Tikis and leave it at that. With there being a fighter ballot where they would have to listen to us fans and other characters people wanting over K. Rool happening, I think the King may be next in line.

Smash; he'll come back in his own series eventually, but he deserves to be in Smash. He should've been in Melee along with Diddy, and got super shafted by the chaos of the buyout era. Smash is a game of Nintendo all-stars, and any gamers from the SNES era remember DKC and K. Rool. It always surprises me the number of people who go "Oh ****, it's K. Rool! It's K. Rool!" whenever I watched clips of people reacting to the Kremlings showing up in the April 2014 direct.

Easily Super Smash Bros. 4. Eventually, King K. Rool will return to the Donkey Kong franchise which I am not worried about. I'm hesitant to say the same about Smash and doing so would 100% ensure his return to the DK franchise if he hasn't already. Plus he's the only Nintendo newcomer I care about now given that everyone else I care about is either in or probably won't ever get in (or in Pichu's case, likely will never return again).

It's very likely that we won't be seeing a Smash game for a very long time; it could be a decade before a proper Smash 6 happens if ever. I don't want to wait until I'm over thirty to get the chance to play King K. Rool in Smash 6; by then I won't be able to enjoy his inclusion to the fullest like I would want to.

Well we are all entitled to our own opinions. And yes I have beaten all the DKC games including Returns and TF. DK 64 is probably my favorite. I don't expect everyone to agree so glad to hear at least one person speak against it.

Returns and TF were overshadowed by Rayman Legends for me, which I played way more. I felt it was more of the hardcore type side scrolling game I had been wanting to play. I am just one of the many fans that lost interest in DK games due to them becoming more casual unlike the older games. I like the feeling of handing my siblings a controller and watching them try to beat what I never could (eventually did beat lol). For example, Donkey Kong Country 2. Nobody in my family will ever beat that game, because of the challenge level and dedication to memory patterns and what not. That is fun to me. My two cousins and aunt have actually beaten Tropical Freeze together and when I played it, it seemed way more casual. Just not my type of game. Too watered down from what the series offered before. DK still has neat art and characters sometimes, but hasn't been the same since the N64 days imo.

I'm surprised anybody would think the SNES DKC trilogy isn't much easier than the Retro games. The difficulty difference is pretty apparent to me.

The SNES trilogy definitely had some tough moments, but not much more than, say, Super Mario Bros. 3. The Retro sidescrollers are some of the most challenging non-NES/ROM-hack platformers I've ever played.

Smash. Because Smash is already released, whereas who knows when we'll get a DKCR3..and if we do get him in Smash, we're bound to get him in DKCR3 when that happens. Whereas if he first appeared with DKCR3, his return would be a bit late and I'd prefer if it was as soon as possible...

Here is something I want to ask K. Rool fans. What made you a fan of K. Rool or want him for Smash? When did you start becoming a fan of K. Rool?
A little late but I would still like to say that I never cared about King K. Rool until I started lurking on Smashboards back in 2011. After reading many well-thought out and convincing arguments, I decided to find some older DK games and see what the fuss was about, since I was never into the DK franchise when I was younger.

After having played DKC 1, 2, and DK64, I just couldn't find strong enough reasons to not include King K. in Smash. He was an enjoyable and goofy villain that would not only expand the under-represented DK franchise, but also bring a fun dynamic to the Smash Bros. roster.

I'm playing Tropical Freeze now and all I could think of when I was playing through the game was, "Man, where the hell is King K.?" And that kind of response was from a newly-found fan, I'm sure the long-time fans miss him considerably.

To this day I still try my best to play the main game(s) of each Smash character as well as potential DLC candidates to try and better appreciate each character or to see what newcomers I would still want. After reading hundreds, if not thousands, of comments and arguments over the years, and having played almost all of the games of Smash 4 characters and that of potential candidates (DLC, Assist Trophy, etc.), King K. Rool, Isaac, and Wolf, at this point, are the characters that have earned my support.

Getting K. Rool back into the actual DKC games is my ultimate interest here, but if I had to choose a game for his return right now, it would be Smash. Smash gives an automatic fanbase to even the least character-y of characters (many examples), not to mention ones like K. Rool, and also works as a 'king-maker.'

If K. Rool got into DKCR3 first, he might or might not get into Smash, and he could easily be replaced the game following that one. With a Smash appearance brought about as a direct result of fans, however, development teams would be very hard-pressed to justify asking "Does he need to come back?" or laughing about "no crocodiles." He'd be in it for the long haul, no longer an expendable part of the DK franchise, which has had a long history of development teams throwing classic elements out for the sake of throwing their own crap at the wall to see what sticks.

Not to mention, even the best K. Rool boss fight is still a boss fight. Smash would give players the opportunity to direct their own boss fight using the character, which truly is a once-in-a-character-lifetime sort of thing.

I'd say get K Rool in Smash Bros.
Look what it did for Fire Emblem. Helped bring it west.
Kid Icarus - A revival on the 3ds.
Xenoblade - New popularity.

Being in a new DK would obviously be swell too.

Somewhere out there on this big blue marble
Ice Climbers where literally forgotten relics of the past before Melee, Ness made people try Earthbound, Lucas sparked the infamous Mother 3 stuff, FE got localized, etc. K.Rool appearing in Smash would also make Nintendo realize people want him back

Y'know, one thing that I think would be amazing (though almost definitely not happening) for K. Rool to have in Smash is an alternate costume based on Wizpig's clothes. It would really fit imo.
