That's a good thing IMO.Yeah, Rool is even more neglected than ridley these days. We've gotten Ridley's shadow, we've gotten bubkis from K rool.

His minions came back in Smash Run after a very long absence. Unless he ends up barely a trophy again. Ridley is either playable or a boss. K. Rool is either playable or a trophy. Sakurai has given his fanbase this hints (kremlings maaaaybe), not even a DK stage :/That's a good thing IMO.
hope so. I'd be happy if the big fella got in.His minions came back in Smash Run after a very long absence. Also, K.Rool's shadow wasn't shown with the text 'Other bosses may appear on other stages to' after seeing what exactly the role of the Yellow Devil was.
I still say we are at a big advantage.
I Couldn't resist. *laughs*Reminder: this is not the Ridley thread.
Double Post? My BadI Couldn't resist. *laughs*

As a stage boss yeah.Gangplank Galleon would almost be a dead giveaway for K. Rool.
As a stage boss yeah.
Of course some naysayers will be like "LOLZ K. ROOL IS A BAWSS".
I think most of us here are a little wary on the Ridley topic. This thread is weird. Not only some people bash Dixie Kong for no reason whatsoever, but others get weirdly upset because of a Ridley-related joke.
My second Post is Gone? .........um........Well...... this is awkward.laughs
Tell me about it. it's terrifying for those supporting both K. rool and Ridley. It'd be nightmarish if they were both bosses, because then there's even less of a chance they'll be dlc : (I think Imost of us here are a little wary on the Ridley topic.
When K. Rool is compared to a character that may or may not be a boss, we get a little jumpy and worried.
Not sure about the Dixie Kong part.
It'd probably just be because she's a threat to Rool.

Some people would like to all get around the camp fire and sing Kumbaya about DK having 4 reps. Hell yes DK deserves 4 reps, but it won't get them, especially in the apocalyptic times we now live in known as the Sal Romano era. I'm not going to be politically correct about it to appease the lot of closet Dixie fans in the thread, she's a threat. Yes, I will be disappointed if she gets in over him, as yes, he does deserve it far more than her. Apparently, I have anti Dixie "bias", when all of these people arguing for her don't have any. This has actually been one of the most highly contested slots (Even if not at the moment), and to not talk about it in the K. Rool thread is silly. This thread is weird. It wasn't just Dedede. I thought Wario played pretty well in Brawl, and you can't really ignore Meta Knight either. Some people would like to all get around the camp fire and sing Kumbaya about DK having 4 reps. And yes, I don't know about all of these people here getting chicken feet. I will proudly main K. Rool, though if I happen to be better with my old Dedede main it can't be helped. I still used Ganon in Brawl as my second best too, so I will still use him heavily even if he's bottom. At that point, though, of course I have to pull out a competent character.
Regardless, I am fairly sure K. Rool would be among the best heavyweights anyway with his large ranged focus and speed, like Dedede (The first remotely playable villian in Brawl, given Bowser, Ganon, and Mewtwo are unplayable messes that do not resemble their characters in the least).
We all have bias. I can not see how any one could say K Rool deserves it far more than Dixie. But I know I have Dixie bias. It is a shame that the two are essentially fighting for one spot. They both earned it and are both great characters. I shouldn't be rooting against K. Rool because I want Dixie so much since he is a great character.Yes, I will be disappointed if she gets in over him, as yes, he does deserve it far more than her. I was more discounting Wario and Meta Knight as villians. Wario's a protagonist, and the only villianous thing Meta Knight does is in the English version of Super Star (In Japanese he's actually trying to overthrow Dedede for corruption). Dedede does heroic things and is sometimes attacked for no reason, yes, but he has more to his name than Meta Knight. It wasn't just Dedede. I thought Wario played pretty well in Brawl, and you can't really ignore Meta Knight either.
I'd be okay with that. I have been waiting for his comeback for years! With all the Dixie vs K.Rool stuff going on, you know what would be an hilarious outcome?
Kiddy Kong bounces into battle!
Wario may be a protagonist... but can you really call him a hero? He's more of a Villain Protagonist and only does heroic things for his self greed so I'd hardly call him heroic. Metaknight definitely isn't a villain, though, while Dedede is the main antagonist of the Kirby series, even if he's not as antagonistic nowadays.I was more discounting Wario and Meta Knight as villians. It doesn't excuse Wolf, who is slightly viable, but yeah.
I wouldn't, he's just as bad off as Chunky Kong. Neither one was liked very much hence why they never appeared again after their first game.I'd be okay with that. I have been waiting for his comeback for years!
So did everyone...I'd be okay with that. I have been waiting for his comeback for years!
Is that where the assist trophy went?So did everyone...
Is it bad that I would absolutely love to play as Kiddy Kong? Sure, I'd be bummed that Dixie or K. Rool weren't on. But the addition of Kiddy would... Kind of make up for it.With all the Dixie vs K.Rool stuff going on, you know what would be an hilarious outcome?

Nope, not bad at all! In fact, I like you for not liking what everyone else likes. I myself preferred Kiddy vastly over Dixie in my younger years of playing DKC3. Maybe it was my 'where the hell is Diddy'-phase, which was the first time I had to experience this feeling prior to Melee. Or maybe it's cause Kiddy actually plays a lot like Diddy, but heavy. If I where to rate my favorite DKC SNES characters as a youngster, I'd easily rank them Diddy >> Kiddy > Dixie = DK. I'm really not a fan of Cranky. I've NEVER really liked him, he was OK in the role he had in the DKC trilogy, but I never had a desire to play as him in any game, ever.Nope, not bad at all! Kiddy should really get a revival role soon. It's so sad that he's the most overlooked character in Nintendo history ever, basically. When Retro Studios announced that there'd be a 4th Kong, a lot of us started speculating about Kiddy! Yet, he wasn't chosen, Cranky was. And this will likely kill any chances for Kiddy to return, outside of a scenario where we'd get another DK Barrel Blast, or Diddy Kong Racing.
Speaking of Diddy Kong Racing! The DS remakes could've easily had Kiddy Kong as the Banjo replacement to instead of Tiny Kong. Goes to show how much they care about the poor little toddler (if he even is a toddler at this point - if Tiny is anything to go by!).
Funnily enough I busted out my SNES earlier and did the first 3 worlds on DKC1. I have the house to myself until late Sunday so I'm going to play through them all by then in peace and quiet lol. It feels very limited in comparison with the other two games. I loved carrying Dixie on my back with Kiddy.Dixie and Kiddy might have very well had the best tag team features, and it actually was strategic to which Kong took which position. So I can agree with your love of both. I just preferred DKC2, due to it's massive emphasis on exploring, and getting all bonus items.
I like all DKC SNES games a lot however. If I decide to play one, I'll always finish the triology. So... I really can't rate them individually, outside of DKC2. I might still say I have a small favor for DKC1 due to it being the first game, and being so extremely memorable. As well as having Diddy, and imo a better K.Rool battle.
And more importantly... Lanky was going to meet Kiddy! It's also cool seeing Taj there. So many great characters that are no longer used .I-I've never seen that...! Wow, it looks so beautiful. I now even wish that Diddy would've been in Melee even more! That model looks so fitting!
Man I missed out so much Rare stuff when I was younger, it's such a shame! I never had money, and my parents already thought I spended too much time behind my N64, so I never got games I really wanted, as StarFox 64, Paper Mario, Conker 64 and Banjo-Tooie...And more importantly... Banjo-Conker-Kongs are basically the pinacle of my childhood.
Yes. The N64 is IMO, the greatest console of all time. The amount of 10/10 games it had are ridiculous. DK 64, Goldeneye, Mario 64, Banjo Kazooie, Banjo Tooie, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Paper Mario, Star Fox, Mario Kart 64, Diddy Kong Racing, Mario Tennis, Mario Party 3, Perfect Dark, Pokemon Stadium, Super Smash Bros etc.Man I missed out so much Rare stuff when I was younger, it's such a shame! Lanky meeting Taj and Kiddy is also indeed such a cool sight. Man, I wish they could've put more Kongs in Diddy Kong Racing DS. And I really hope Nintendo buys back Rare one day. They shouldn't be too expensive anymore. And maybe not worth the purchase as a company at this point, but the rights they'd get!! It could possibly bring back the old staff members of Rare.
Also, many people visit this thread again. Quite some guests to!
Same for me lol! I finally had to stop looping my Kremling Kakophany playlist, but regardless, the song that stands out to me the most is Finest Hour because I can imagine him saying this when he comes back. :DI didn't get involved in any real gaming until 2011 when my parents got me a Wii. Before then I was mostly raised on "edutainment" PC games. In other words I missed all the golden eras of gaming past.
But more on topic, K. Rool's Finest Hour has been stuck in my head for days...
Staring at that awesome concept art sure did make me think up a few points.Funnily enough I busted out my SNES earlier and did the first 3 worlds on DKC1. If you've never seen it, here's some cool artwork for DKR for the Gamecube.
There are only 7 characters there so I think one or two more may have been unlockables. Definitely K. Rool.
It's really too bad that Rare ended up the way they did. Not only would we still be getting games like those today, but I'm 100% sure we'd have Conker / Banjo-Kazooie in Smash... Maybe even as long ago as Melee (I'm pretty sure the spats between Rare and Nintendo began in the early Gamecube days). I've seen some pretty beast move-set potential for Banjo-Kazooie from people, don't even want to think about what Sakurai could have done with them.Yes. It had a ton of awesome 3rd Party games too (WWF No Mercy and WCW Revenge are still the best wrestling games ever).
I actually think Melee was released before the rare buyout. Chris Seavor voices Peppy and Slippy in it, and Rare are mentioned in the credits. I have no idea why Banjo-Kazooie weren't included in that, but I'm sure that they'd have been in Brawl under different circumstances. It's really too bad that Rare ended up the way they did. Perhaps I'm just biased though, since all of those games = my childhood... Meh.
