So far I'm not impressed by the new characters in ssb4. Where's the king?

Hopefully they eventually (probably after E3) release more newcomers that are part of the major franchises in addition of the newcomers from their own franchises. If all the newcomers from the Gematsu leak are all we're going to get, I might just get a refund on my pre-order. When I think about Smash Brothers, I think about expanding upon the major franchises from Nintendo. Obviously, some characters outside of the major franchises are nice, but when their newcomer inclusions vastly outnumber the newcomer inclusions of the major franchises, it's depressing.

Here's to hoping K. Rool (among others) are included.

He's not a bad choice per se, just inferior compared to the others I mentioned.

No I actually think that Chunky is the best choice, out of the obvious Rambi.

Why?

Diddy is taking Lanky Kong's gimmicks with his stretched arms (otherwise, he'd be a great AT to). Dixie should be playable, and be a major let-down as AT, as would our King. Tiny Kong is basically just taller, reskinned Dixie. Outside of that, there's only Cranky, Kiddy and I guess Funky left as playable Kongs. Cranky would be hilarious, but seeing as he's Tropical Freeze's 4th character, many would rather want him playable. Besides, as an AT he wouldn't probably do a lot, just rant like Mr.Resetti. And Funky is too laid back to really suit being an attacking AT. Outside of that, Funky doesn't have any abilties either. Chunky does.

Chunky just makes a good AT cause he's powerful as ****. Plus, he hasn't been used since DK64, unlike Tiny and Lanky. And he also did the final blow against K.Rool in DK64. He was quite significant to DK64 if you'd look back. It's only right that he was brought back like this like the Kremlings.

I'm not sure if I've said this before, but yeah... I'll be extremely pissed and bummed if K. Rool doesn't make the cut. And it's not just because Kritters returned as extremely badass NPCs who could pin down even the Koopa Troopas in awesomeness.

It's mainly because K. Rool is a character who's proven his worth many times during his appearances, and more than merits his spot in at least one Super Smash Bros. roster in his career. Unlike a certain pink princess I hate with a passion that I won't name (who's never done **** all in her entire existence except being associated with and kidnapped by a huge badass) K. Rool actually DESERVES to be in. He's a master of disguise, has one great personality (that of a certified evil nut XD), is an amazing fighter with great boss battles and even in his 3 playable appearances he manages to be one badass mofo. OK, Baron K. Roolenstein is still my least fav K. Rool, but he's still K. Rool, so I'm willing to put aside those pseudo-negative feelings. And Pharaoh K. Rool? Get rid of that "diaper" for his classic cape and he'd be even more epic! And he's a heavyweight villain, something this roster is heavily lacking in.

DK should be honored to have such an incredible main villain. Tiki Tong is a letdown who could NEVER measure up if he tried, and while Fredrik IS awesome, K. Rool could crush him like a bug in that category.

I know K. Rool wasn't in Brawl, I meant as far as Newcomers in this game are concerned, all of them have appeared in another game since Brawl. K. Rool appeared around that time in Barrel Blast and Super Sluggers, but nothing sense. Not that I think it should affect him at all, neither have the Kremlings and they're in.

It took a while for us to see Magnus' AT in a video as well. We heard about him long before we actually saw a video of him.

Yeah, I think that was brought up a few pages back. I don't think anyone would just randomly "make up" seeing Chunky Kong as an AT, honestly. Why would anyone care? We care only because it shows Sakurai is adding more DK love into the game.

Didn't have time to say something about it earlier though was starstruck about it after waking up, but Chunky Kong as an AT? Holy ****, that changes a lot of our worlds now. Basically agree too on him being best AT material out of the "forgotten" Kongs. There's no telling what kind of DKC or DK64 content we'll get now, let alone what'll happen with K. Rool, but assuming the worst from the Sal leak, I'll be anticipating DK kontent most in the form of stages or something. Frantic Factory plz!

Also, still consistently checking the 3DS virtual console with no sign of DKL... Newest thing on there at the moment is Double Dragon II >___> (which wasn't there last night).

They are powerful villains after all, loyalty means nothing to them. You always hear villains calling their troops fools and bonking them on the heads anyway whenever they fail at something, especially trying defeat the heros so it's no surprise really lol.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure K. Rool even had a Kasplat killed in DK64 for failing to guard the blueprints (and calling him "fatso").

Bowser actually respects his troops. Sure, they're still wary of failing him, but in Mario RPG, he gives his best wishes to deserters who have settled down with new lives. K. Rool isn't like that at all.

Bowser is inconsistent. He beats up his troops a lot. Maybe he doesn't outright kill them, but he does beat them up.

Nah, just kidding. It's cool. I don't see any reason someone would lie about Chunky of all characters and your story sounds believable, so I'm gonna believe it for now. Smash U is on Treehouse Live right now, so we'll just have to hope he shows up as an assist.
