I've heard rumors, but do we know that Nintendo monitors parts of this site?

Beyond individual Nintendo workers undoubtedly lurking here and there, we know that Nate Bihldorff definitely does (or at least did pre-Brawl on here and NeoGAF).

Anyway, it’s general policy that we don’t post on message boards, but with the end drawing near for the Dojo, I got some special dispensation. Anyway, as some of you know, we’ve been working on Brawl with Sakurai-san and his team for several years now, and the Dojo itself for almost a year. Now, I don’t know how many of you guys download daily stages and snapshots from the Smash Service, but for those that do… Look, sorting through 10,000 submissions every week is fun and all, but it breaks my heart to have to ditch some amazing stage because it had an extra-raunchy title. There’s some incredible creativity on display that I’d love to share with the rest of the Smash community, but a little restraint in the naming conventions will go a long way. Yes, we all know it’s hilarious when Diddy Kong goes to town on somebody’s face—I feel that the snapshot medium is also ready for some fresh ideas. Spread the word if you can.
So… Yeah. Have fun with the last seven or so updates. And when the gray day of reckoning comes and Sporsk approaches, pillow in hand, to gently smother this thread at last, do not weep! Smile, because Smash endures, and it is good.

I hope that Chunky AT thing is true. I miss him. He was my favorite character in DK64, and Nintendo has done nothing with him since, outside of a few cameos. What gives?
On another note, that bodes well for a DK newcomer. If Chunky of all people can nab an AT spot, what's the playable DK representation going to be like?

You can't know the characters nobody wants without knowing the ones people do want.

As far as a K. Rool trailer goes, check out that split second clip of DK running through the jungle in the very first trailer. That's the style I think we'd see in a K. Rool trailer.

What if that actually is K Rool trailer but they just showed Donkey running? Look at the Greninja trailer, Pac-Man showed up in the clouds and he got in, so revisiting old trailers for hints is not a bad idea.

I think those clips are suspicious, they are very well done as if they were trailers and they seem like they continue. Crazy theory, but again, Pac-Man was in the damn clouds.

Honestly, its hilarious. This doesn't F---ing confirm anything, but I'm suddenly getting hyped up for K. Rool again and for this roster having more than just the stupid Gematsu leak. Also interesting of note, this demo has TONS of new AT's and a few new old ones, but quite a few, including both Isaac and Ray, are all absent.

EDIT: And with this renewed hope, I am going to bed. Honestly, Chunky Kong is the LAST character I could see as a Donkey Kong AT, so its very, very intriguing. It seems that for AT's, they're bringing in characters that would be less likely to be chosen as a playable character...

And I thought the stretching arm gimmick Diddy now has was already a great throwback to DK64, noting Lanky Kong and all. Who has also gotten a trophy in Brawl I'd like to remind you. But Lanky was already revived by PAON before Brawl, or at least: an attempt was made.

Chunky Kong is easily the most forgotten playable Kong. At least Kiddy got the benefit of having his games ported, and being in the all famous DKC- SNES triology. Also, the 'Kong bigger than DK' role has been given to Funky ever since, who is noticibly more popular and well known, especially since making it to Mario Kart Wii.

Why is it lame? Chunky had some of the most devestating moves in DK64. Primate Punch would be a great attack for example. But he could also show up with the Orange Grenades, shoot them with pineapples or do Super Simain Slam. I think it's awesome they made him an AT. The only better choice imo is Rambi, but Rambi is just obvious.

I don't think its lame, I think its awesome, it means Sakurai is willing to draw on the older games, even some characters we never thought we'd see again. (Which is why it bodes VERY well for K. Rool.)

Well, its the biggest Smash Bros. site that I'm aware of. I wouldn't be surprised if they monitor it for Smash Bros. info.

Probably cause they want to keep their options open for DLC.

That's my theory. People are going to argue Dillon, but he's extremely new. Isaac is interesting because he hasn't appeared yet, but Shadow, another unlockable AT has. Isaac was a popular pick before... he probably wouldn't bring much hype, but he might be popular enough to get in as a DLC character. And if Isaac gets in it bodes well for a Golden Sun sequel. (And if K. Rool gets in, it bodes well for a Kremling Komeback. :D)

The best case scenario that a lot of people are hoping for are K. Rool, Ridley, Mewtwo, and Takamaru. Although with Mii Sword Guy, Chrom, and Shulk, Takamaru may be overkill.

So a new Mario stage today(still no new DK stage) looks kinda bland IMO, anyone else think it's strange that there is no Bowser's Castle stage yet? Meta knight has the HalBerd, Ganondorf has gerudo valley, Wario has wario ware stage and King Dedede kinda shares the boxing ring with little mac.

Also if King K.rool joins ssb wiiu is it more likely that King k.rool gets a homestage dedicated to him or that he has to share DK's undoubtedly un original jungle stage?

K.Rool ALSO is affiliated with Boxing Rings, like Mac and Dedede..... I'd wanna see Gangplank Galleon, though.

Also, If we DO get a stage that has heavy K.Rool connections, Consider him in. Newcomers tend to have stages based around them shown off before they arrive themselves (unless they're representing a new series):

Prism Tower For Greninja
Mii Apartments for Mii Fighters
Palutena's Temple for Palutena.
