This seems quite ironic, since I would think that the Snowmads would also be against the Kremling Krew as well. Maybe the Snowmads took over K. Rool's home at one point, but didn't find the place to be good enough for their tastes in the end.I was waiting for this thread to be bumped so I could post this image. My theory is pretty much this; I feel like they've been trying to both expand the DK universe, and introduce their own tastes and touches to it. It never had anything to do with trying to "whitewash" the Kremlings out of existence. It must have been an homage. Retro had about three years to re-acquaint themselves and take in fan feedback, there is no way they are totally ignorant of K. Rool as an individual character. The whole theme of the Snomads is a loving tribute to that style of 80s/90s video game villain team, I think they were only opposed to just re-using K. Rool because they wanted something original. That's just my theory, though.
What I think is obvious is that Retro has a tonne of love for DKC and K. Rool is a huge part of that, so the final boss in DKC: TF is no accident.
I predict the third Retro DKC game will be named Donkey Kong's Double Trouble. It just makes too much sense.I was waiting for this thread to be bumped so I could post this image. It's from Frogstar over on DKVine, and I believe you all will find it amusing.
That...would be amazing.@ FalKoopa ? Are you implying a team-up of Freddy & K.Rool's forces?
Yeah, pretty much.That...would be amazing.
Although I think K. Rool deserves another shot in the spotlight solo, but I'd love to see them team up as well.
So badass.
Assuming Retro keeps the DK/Partner mechanic for the inevitable third game, maybe Fred and Rool could pull of their own version of that for their battle? Would be interesting, and probably pretty funny.A team-up between Rool and Fred would be cool (no pun intended) and all, but what could be done with such a team-up to make it unique? The two share virtually the exact same skillset, and Fred doesn't have all that much room for innovation, what with being specifically designed around Tropical Freeze's ice theme like the rest of the Vikings.
Oh geez, I can see that actually. Multi-round battle like the DK64 one, alternating as each time they try not just to crush the Kongs, but in a more and more spectular way than the other, with the penultimate defeat being at each other's hands when you clear the battle. It could also be hilarious to see the two constantly try to one-up the other.
Ooh, how about a resort island set up by the Kremlings to earn a massive amount of money to fund some sort of Blast-o-Matic follow-up in order to destroy DK Island? The Kongs take a vacation to the island to relax after defeating two back-to-back invasions, but find out they're trapped on an island literally crawling with Kremlings and have to escape. It could be sort of like Dead Island, but with crocodiles instead of zombies. For the third Retro DKC, I was thinking...the Kongs have already explored their island, and have adventured back to their island. It's now time for them to branch out and explore some new island, and what better place to explore than a vacation home repurposed as a massive Kremling deathtrap?
Would be absolutely fantastic. My other idea was for K. Rool to pull a King Boo and send the Kongs a letter informing them they've 'won' a new vacation home or something, only to get there and find their island absolutely infested with Kremlings.Ooh, how about a resort island set up by the Kremlings to earn a massive amount of money to fund some sort of Blast-o-Matic follow-up in order to destroy DK Island? K. Rool of course would take on a wealthy resort owner as a new persona, obviously parodying Roarke from Fantasy Island, sporting an all-white suit and black tie.
I think that's kinda overdone when it comes to formidable villain alliances, so I hope to not see too much of that if anything. K. Rool and Fred would still be awesome though, but yeah.It could also be hilarious to see the two constantly try to one-up the other.
In that case, it would be equally hilarious if they turned out to be the best of friends.I think that's kinda overdone when it comes to formidable villain alliances, so I hope to not see too much of that if anything. K. Rool and Fred would still be awesome though, but yeah.
Just put a volcano on it. Fits any island, apparently.Since Retro did a re-imagining of Donkey Kong Island, I always thought a game featuring the Kremlings again would have a re-imagining and revisit of Crocodile Isle (either a new homeland for the Kremlings, or the old one rebuilt somehow) but the ideas you guys came up with are awesome as well!
That's because a lot of oceanic islands are formed volcanically (like Hawaii, for instance).Just put a volcano on it. Fits any island, apparently.
Yeah, but isn't K Fool's island handmade? That's because a lot of oceanic islands are formed volcanically (like Hawaii, for instance).
Reading Rainbow 8D
Yeah, but isn't K Fool's island handmade?
What went wrong? Well, you got greedy Fred! You could of just played it simple and steal the Kong's bananas, but noooo, you had to get fancy and instead freeze over the entire Island with that Ice Dragon, thus such extravaganza would obviously lead to your inevitable downfall.I was waiting for this thread to be bumped so I could post this image. Dunsparce is a poor man's Jynx.Oh shut up @ Johnknight1 . Get your propaganda out of here.
We all know Dunsparce is going to get revealed Tuesday. Get real
The two make a sumo slammin' tag-team.A team-up between Rool and Fred would be cool (no pun intended) and all, but what could be done with such a team-up to make it unique? I didn't know Ridley looted wooden ships!I'm just waiting in this hype boat.
Hopefully a certain reptile will board, pillage and loot this boat. Here's to hoping!
