Yeah, hence the 'luck' part (that, and him getting in to begin with). Though, with three Kirby characters being Brawl starters, you never know for sure.

That is a good point. You'd have thought that either MK or DDD would have been hidden characters. Maybe Sakurai made them available from the start because (in his mind) they were long overdue to be playable.

I've been thinking about it a bit, and here's what I think: K. Rool could be a starter actually. I'd think we'd at least get one of the vet series get a newcomer.
Not overly likely, but unless we get Chrom, I think K. Rool or Ridley have at least decent chances.

I'd of course be all on board for this.

Though I guess this will relegate DK as the hidden character.

But at least dk has brute strength to match k. rool's, mario needs powers to beat bowser. Dk has not beaten mario or bowser? that can easily be decided in mario sports and past ssb games. Just saying lol.

In all of his appearances K. Rool has only been defeated with the teamwork of several Kongs. Two in the Country series and seven in DK64.

Honestly, I think a team-up between the two would work very well; heck, it sort of reminds me of the Wario/Waluigi dynamic. Bowser is a self-absorbed and greedy brute ("Did someone page the King of Awesome?"), and K. Rool is more the scheming, slightly insane type (See: Baron K. Roolenstein). I'd see Bowser as the one taking charge (perhaps with K. Rool fueling his ego) and K. Rool being the right hand man who keeps Bowser focused on their schemes and keeps showing up wearing different costumes.

Now, we just have to add Ganondorf, Wario, Dedede, and Ridley into the mix... and make the dynamic more clear than in SSE...

But Bowser can pretty much jump 10 times higher than Mario in games like Super Mario 64 and Galaxy =D
And he can outspeed Sonic in the Olympic games, clearly K Rool is way too slow

But can bowser leave a shockwave when he butt slams the ground? He was powered up in the final battle in super mario 64 so that I understand but can he do it when he's not? Plus K. Rool is known for playing possum just when you think he's down and out. I'd like to see them fight in aboxing ring, I'm sure both would move around the same speed then.

Hmm.....the goings-on of this thread have gotten pretty...interesting? I honestly didn't think I was signing up for a Bowser vs. King K. Rool debate when I became a Kutthroat.

So, I recently decided to look up the list of cutscenes from DK64, having never actually played that game for more than two minutes (it was at a friend's house). I know I brought up the question of whether or not he would have his voice from Jungle Climber a few pages back, but I'm now hoping that at least his taunts and victory poses utilize his Dr. Claw voice. It would sure beat K. Rool suffering from Olimaritus and just losing his voice altogether.

I really hope our King gets revealed either at E3, or even better, at the re-releases of the old DKCs on the VC. Why they took them off is beyond me, but re-releasing them would be the best way to promote K. Rool.

I believe that really soon we'll getting not only the DKC trilogy, but also DK64 at Wii U's Virtual Console... Nintendo just need to take off the RareWare logo of the begin of the game, and make their (Rare's) credits just in the end of the game (if it is even an issue, which I doubt... since they were on Wii's Virtual Console without a problem).

If his reveal were to coincide with a release, it'd obviously be with the release of the original trilogy, as has been already noted. I'm pretty in the dark as to when that'll happen, though, as I'm sure many are. E3 would probably be the most ideal time to show him off, no matter how much I don't feel like waiting for his reveal, since he's, you know, the most wanted newcomer in the world, practically.
