**** if neither K.Rool or Dixie get into Smash that means no amiibo for them. :'( The next best thing to hope for is DKCR3 with a Donkey Kong series amiibo line. Characters that should be in the set are DK, Diddy (don't care about these two as i already own there Smash series counterparts), Dixie, K.Rool, Cranky, and Funky. I'd buy 2 of each of the last 4. One opened and one sealed and I never keep my figures sealed.

DK is going to be in the Mario Series amiibo wave two (alongside Rosalina and Wario) based on Mario Partys exclusive boards.

Even though there's no evidence those will actually be created. They created the models just for the sake of it, that doesn't mean they'll actually be produced as real models. Plus you do realize DK could always actually be part of the DK line, right?

Well its interesting because Nintendo has revealed amiibos pretty early on. For example:

The 4 Mario Amiibos are all based on their Mario Line models....months before they were ever announced. Although the second line of characters appear to be official art from other games. The Mario amiibo was also shown during the Mii Fighter reveal during e3 2014

What if (totally hypothetically) the next Direct featured a teaser for the new DKC game, with K. Rool strongly hinted to return? How would you react?

Say you guys, what if there is a new Donkey Kong Country cartoon? Of course K.Rool needs to be the main villain, the other two really don't work as long term villains that a tv show needs. Though despite working with a comedy vibe, a DK cartoon has a lot of action which means there's only one network(in the states at least) that would work, and that would be Disney XD.

Anything that happened with Brawl was determined pre-release, though, and Krystal's voice actress does have lines in both that and Smash Wii U.

I'm unsure what I make of this (not enough information to go on), but I'd say that it's a different sort of situation purely because we're talking about potential add-on content for an already-released game.

To be fair, Bowser's abilities have been expanded upon a lot with his appearances. Turning into a spiked ball, growing giant, and he wins in brute strength, I'd say.

I don't think its real. Voice actors make mistakes all the time, and many don't follow the things they do voice work in. As far as I read about this whole Layton deal, he said he had no idea about the Layton thing, then noticed something he had recorded he didn't remember. He assumed it was Layton in Smash and responded that yes it must've been the case, then realized the mistake and closed down his Twitter account.



Believe it or not, voice actors largely don't get too invested in their roles. Mike Pollock once stated in an interview that its just a job, and he goes from voice acting gig to voice acting gig and barely remembers anything about what he does. He couldn't remember most things he did voicing in.

Bowser can get thrown into a star, have it go super nova, turn into a black hole, and come back like he had taken his siesta.

Bowser is my childhood favorite villain, loved him the first time I played as him in Mario Kart 64 and even more when he was the villain in Super Mario 64. He may have changed a little in terms of character over the years but he's still the same badass Koopa King as I remember. Just like K. Rool is still a badass Crocodile who I also have a connection with since first playing DK64.

People couldn't figure out how the movie adaptation would work either, but it worked really well and is a genuinely enjoyable film, too. I have no trouble believing that something could be made for him.

laser goggles
coin rifles
recovery involving his hand crafted glider from curious village.

swords
catapult
tilts and smashes could derive from Emmy's feisty fighting style. Could anyone envision Layton delivering a bicycle kick?
I'm sure there's more, or you could supplement blander moves like tilts with things like sword swings, but the moveset potential is there.

*EDIT* Layton also has a couple of mechanical items to work with. Maybe he could have some moves involving the toy robot or his robot dog from Diabolical Box.

Layton? Yeah, I think not. Either this was a misunderstanding or someone's cranking out some good old fashioned publicity for a character who's gotten little of it since the ballot started. The YouTube goon squad will naturally blow it out of proportion until people forget the shady details and just remember OMG LAYTON and assume he's likely.

The fake leaks will be pouring in as the ballot nears its end, and most likely few of them will feature K. Rool because of the principle of only putting the boring obvious stuff in leaks. Don't let it hamper your actual supports and votes, because that's what matters in the end, even beyond Smash with future DK games.

It just occurred to me that there's a chance that it could be for a different game entirely. Layton has a very small cameo in the background in the upcoming Little Battlers eXperience, and it seems possible that the work Layton's voice-actor mentioned could have been for use in another title by Level 5 themselves.
