That's pretty interesting to hear, the fact that he's beating even the top veteran over there when Japan is more focused on them is pretty telling for how popular he seems to be with their online community.
I am curious about one thing though, you said that you haven't gotten to the post costume results for both him and Inkling, do you think that will cause a notable drop for both of them or will their support remain strong like it is here?
Yeah, I was very surprise to see him beating Wolf too. It's not that different from the
first set of data I had, so I guess I shouldn't be that surprised.
Those are both topics I plan on looking into. Since the ballot is continuously open, I felt like it would be a huge disservice/ not accurate to only include data from post Roy/Ryu/Lucas. As with any data collecting I'm do, I try to be as accurate as possible.
There are some short comings in my current data collection methodology (basically, I'm measuring the "outcry" for a character. The more "feverish" the support, the more higher they will be). This is because 100% accurate polling would be impossible, and instead I'm measuring what the
Japanese Smash community expects. This is similar to how Japanese data has been collected in the past -- by others and myself.
However--the decision to include all data, and weigh them has increased my workload by 10000x. It'll probably be another 1.5-3 weeks until I finish this, as it's very tedious and I've been busy with a lot of things in real life.
