Just saw a facebook event about a tourny on 8/21/09

It's in the boomers in boca raton, apparently it's 20 dollar entree and it all goes to the pot or something like that.

There will also be SF4 and Madden.

it's actually $10 door ($5 to venue, $5 to staff bringing the systems), $10 pot. They use lcd screens (with component cables)

and uh... 50% of the arcade machines out there are hell so not maintained, i mean look at boomers on stirling rd (those were the old school days of fun :()

And I lold at the amount of people who confirmed attendance, maybe'd and denied xD! I'd rather go to ZP melee the next day..

By the way, I went to Boomers a few years ago with my dad. I had a great time with the laser tag, miniature golf course, and wooden roller coaster. I wonder how it is now...

Boomers in Dania lately is like... gutter trash now, despite the laser tag, roller coaster, and mini golf alive. the arcade machines are going worsen by taking them out of existance, heck they never maintained the DDR machines ever (and i remember back then there were crowds wanting to play the newest games (Virtual On, Initial D)....

the only "true" arcades out there are hundreds of miles away (and as far as japan...).... there's only 1 in miami that's trying to keep the arcade scene alive, and it's on west flagler st by the 826 (5-10 minutes from FIU South). comes with SF4 console setups, BlazBlue, classic fighting games (Killer Instinct, Marvel, SF Alpha), The Simpsons Arcade.

in fact, i remember the days of SF2 and mortal kombat at Aventura Mall... and that mini golf arcade on 167th street before the I-95 and behind the holiday inn.

GameWars will be hosting a Super Smash Brawl tournament next Friday, Aug 21 at Boomers in Boca Raton FL. It wll be double elimination and the entry fee is $20. Registration will start at 7pm and the tournament will begin at 8pm sharp. The pot will be 2/3 of the entry fee and the top three will get 60/30/10.
