Went to two locals this weekend, one at VCU and one that I hosted. At VCU I went 1-2, beating a Marth and then losing to a Yoshi and a fellow Ganon. I've played that Yoshi a couple times now and I'm having some serious issues with the matchup. He's able to exert some ungodly shield pressure on me, and even though I can often predict what he's going to do (side-b) I haven't found any ways to consistently punish it. He's suggested that I play at the ledge rather than centerstage, and I'm definitely going to try and play him more and try out some new tactics.

My local I hosted went pretty well. The skill level wasn't very high, and I thought that I had a chance at placing in the money until VGBC Redd walked in the door. Since I was busy TOing I didn't get any friendlies in with him, but I did manage to play a couple games on stream that I'll hopefully have up for you guys soon.

Unfortunately, I slammed a car door on my finger immediately after getting home from the tournament yesterday. Not super proud that my first thought after the pain registered was "there goes my smash fingers." I'll probably be out of action for a bit, but it'll give me plenty of time to cut vids and review the matches I got recorded.

Probably shouldn't share anything just because the current iteration could end up not reflecting what gets released and then things would be silly. What I probably can say is that the changes may or may not have been something suggested for Ganon on here earlier. That happens a lot in the builds but this change has been in the dev build for a while and seems like it's staying. I'm sorry about not being able to say much

I know the hype is killing me feeling. It's freaking brutal. The fact that the new patch probably doesn't come out for a while makes it worse. I know it blows, and I'm sorry.

One more thing to kick on that probly won't get me in trouble I hope is that Ganondorf is the most substantially adjusted character in 3.5 thus far. No other character has nearly as many changes/ adjustments.

I got Ashingda's Triforce mod to hold me over. Not only it's bad *** it's also the only true to canon moveset than any Ganondorf in smash.

You are entitled to your opinion and I'm not gonna try to convince you otherwise, but out of pure curiosity what don't you like about it?

In the newest version he changed Fist mode's (standard mode) down smash to a better move, Up smash to a better move, Nair to a better move (imo), and Up-air to and equal in utility move. And he increased the grab range a nice amount but not to the point of being OP or even really good, he did it just right imo. The Sword and Magic stances are just icing on the cake if you ask me and its pretty balanced as well nothing is OP and Ganon still has the same old weaknesses in most scenarios. Also (I don't think this will happen) but Samus didn't need the Ice Beam stance but got one anyway to make her move-set more unique/interesting. Ganon doesn't need a Sword stance but it would be nice if he got a "The Samus treatment" in that regard I think that would make him a better character with more options and would please at least 90% of the Ganondorf/LOZ fans that play Project M. Just my 2 cents.

Lessons learned: I'm terrible, Ganon is terrible, Smash is hard, and I'm terrible.

I read that thread before, and yeah he has some good points but respectfully disagree.

Ganondorf should display strength and abilities with both his fists, magic and yes a weapon. Limiting him to just one seems asinine to me plus all his unique attacks are just thrown down the drain while he continues to do windmill kicks and elbows instead of using his devastating magic or great range of his sword. I would think Ganondorf would like to display his full power when he fights not handicap himself.

Besides, if you want a real original Ganon that fits the canon then you have to rethink his entire moveset and seriously the triforce mod doesn't do that, all it does is give Ganon 3 midlly canon movesets. If itreally wanted to be relevant it should make a mix of all of Ganon's canon moves, get rid of all the redundant and irrelevant stuff (Ike Nair pls go) and combine them all into one single moveset while making sure his playstyle doesn't become a gameandwatchesque mess.

I guess it would make a fun brainstorming session.
