It's a really enjoyable game. It's pretty damn anchored for online because story mode is like 6-8 hours if you have the same kind of experience I did. If you want to wait for the price to drop, be prepared that the community will have narrowed by then most likely.

It's been too long since I paid a visit to this thread, and I've just finished writing up my vote for Isaac!

Isaac's inclusion in Super Smash Bros Brawl was what introduced me to the Golden Sun series, and after playing the games, Isaac would translate really well to being a playable character.

Isaac's potential shouldn't just be limited to mere swordplay, since he has the power to use powerful Psynergy to manipulate the environment and change the battle in his direction. Be it summoning earth spires or spiky brambles or energy hands to grab his foes or objects from afar, Isaac's inclusion would greatly diversify the RPG series that are celebrated in Smash Bros and promote future Golden Sun games.

That's what I wrote for Isaac. Let's shake the earth, fellow Adepts!!

Isaac quickly became one of my fave characters back in 2001, and I've always hoped for him in Smash. So I actually did vote for him back when they first put up a voting option for DLC characters.

Ragnarok (or Odyssey) for Final Smash. I'm also a fan of his Gaia attacks, so if they were one of his specials, that would be awesome.

I don't think Ryu is coming, Mario's moves are very similar to Ryu's in Street Fighter.
Also, Sakurai said he didn't want any fighting game characters. Ryu might possibly be an Assist Trophy?

Sakurai said the 3DS version would not limit the Wii U version anyway at all, which is why Icies were cut

Tatsumaki Senpuukyaku goes straight forward, Mario Tornado does not
Mario fights with breakdancing, headbutts and generic punches and kicks
Ryu fights with a Karate/Judo style with special moves added in

Nothing GS related for now. Hence pretty much the general discussion in here.

About Splatoon, it is amazing. Definitely worth buying. The price of entry might seem high for the content offered but the game is really fun. The storyline is a 5-6 hour length shooter, a mix of platforming and shooting. The meat of the game however is in regular battles and recently released ranked battles with tons of guns and gear (with abilities) for customization.

Although the recent Smashified was amazing, I was disappointed with the choice since Inklings already have HD renders. Still looking forward to Isaac's. It would be funny if the Smashified procrastinated him so much that the official reveal comes before their own rendition of Isaac.

Regarding Isaac's inclusion, rumours would be cool though. Would get the Isaac speculation started again, among other people than us GS fans :D

Another thing that I realized I want in Isaac's moveset: Astral Blast. Can't state how awesome that move is, especially in the start of the game when I put all Jupiter Djinn on Isaac/Felix.

Mario's moves share similarities to the most iconic video game fighting character ever. Believe it or don't, that's PROBABLY A CONSCIOUS CHOICE.
But you're ignoring the piece of evidence I'm saying.
The only data by which we even know that Ryu has content in the game is a "jingle-length" victory theme that was placed next to Roy's and that of other DLC characters.

Here's what Sakurai said:
“The biggest feature we look at in Smash Bros. is, ‘What does this character bring to Smash Bros. that other characters don’t?’ If you look at… someone from a fighting game already, and people like fighting with this character, from my point of view, it’s like ‘this guy does what this guy already does. He fills the role that this character already has. So while you may like this character and he’s interesting, that doesn’t really merge well, here.”

He'd be open to fighting game characters provided they add something to the game that isn't already there.
I'd also recommend reading Ryu's entry on the Street Fighter Wiki because he's got a lot of moves Mario doesn't have.

And like @ Burruni says there's a Street Fighter victory theme in the game (Mewtwo update) already.
So I guess Sakurai feels Ryu might bring something new to Smash.

I was talking about how you only have 1 regular attack animation for normal attacks, Iggy was implying Ryu would be a Mario clone based off how similar their attacks are. Every FE controls pretty much identically

I personally want Isaac to join Roy and Lucas as one of the definitive GBA-stars still left to Smash.

On a bright side, Roy being in the leaks means he's not needed for the Ballot much, so´people can go all out with Isaac and other wanted characters around here.

Well, there was this "Digital Event" leak that one of the Kutthroats mentioned:

Its obviously fake, especially since it doesn't have ANY Smash DLC characters at all (except announcing Lucas's release date). It does mention GS4 for 3DS and a 2016 release, though. Nice that a fake leak actually put that in there. Probably related to how much attention K. Rool and Isaac are getting lately (a third climber game for 3DS is also mentioned with K. Rool as the antagonist).


I wasn't going to bring it up, but 'eh, its a fake leak to talk about that mentions GS.

EDIT: I can't ever see that subtitle used for a Golden Sun game, either.
