I think hotels only allow 4 people per room so that my conflict with the amount of money we're all willing to spend on a hotel. On priceline, the cheapest rooms can go for about 25 a piece per night, so roughly 6 a person per night. If we all want to be in the same hotel we have to reserve x amount of rooms at the same time. How many people from iowa are going? It might sound pathetic but my mom can make the reservations.

I'm sure it won't be hard to get more then 4 people in a motel room if we're smart about it. We just need two rooms at most, for two nights. Split 100 dollars between maybe 4-6 people thats like 25 dollars each at most. My mom has also been bugging me about hotel reservations, we're pretty bad at this honestly lol.

EDIT: Actually, I guess I'm ok if you guys stay in CR, 'cause then I can still hang with you after I drop my sister off at the parent's house. Either way- let me know.

Did some calculations based on the random numbers that people are throwing around:
I'm going off of Nebraska's situation since it'll be most expensive for us

Gas: Dekline is taking 4 people including himself. Everyone is going all the way to Iowa City and back to Omaha. I dunno how well his car is with the gas mileage and crap but I'm assuming its pretty good. I estimate each person spending about 15-20 for gas who drives with Dekline.

More gas: In my car I'm only gonna drive myself and Matt to Des Moines. I haven't asked yet but I will now, if it's cool if me and Matt get a ride with Greg to the con once we hit Des Moines. If things go well, I'll be spending 30 on gas for my car. Split between me and Matt is 15 a guy.

More gas: Greg's car is a friggin tank so I estimate that if he takes Schism, me and Matt, it'd probably be in the neighborhood of around 6-10 a guy from Des Moines to Iowa City and back. If this plan doesn't work, I'll try to figure something else out. This is just incase this actually is the plan.

More gas: Hypothetically, if we do rent hotel/motels that are yonder in the wilderness and is 30-9000 minutes away, it will cost an additional 5-10 at worst. That drive is short but when you gotta do it multiple times, it adds up.

Motel/Hotel/Housing: From what I've read, our rooms will be in the 50-100 range and assuming we have at least 10 people and we have two rooms, the cost after split should cost somewhere in the neighborhood of 20-40 a person. This is for both nights so 10-20 each night. This is just random numbers thrown into a calculation as nobody knows what the fuck they're talking about at the moment.

Food: Food costs will vary but assuming people eat a full dinner a day at IHOP or some crap, it will be about 20-35 if I had to throw a random number out there.

Total: So if I had to estimate the costs of the necessary crap, it would be roughly, 110-130 for Nebraska folk. It should be pretty close for Des Moines also. Take off about 20-50 or something and you got your number.

I didn't include random shit that people will do/buy/sex at the con but it's obvious how much you should bring with the given estimation.

If I'm wrong about anything I want to know so that I can bring a sufficient amount of cash.
Whoever spoke about renting hotels, just rent whatever you think is reasonable.

So we apparently cant get a hotel in Iowa City anymore. Our next best option would probably be to get a Super 8 in Williamsburg, which is like 10-15 minutes back the way we came, for about 30-40 a night. Give opinions asap.
