All Im gonna say is to not complain about tiers, you know you dont have to use Ike if you dont want too. But you will because he fits your play style well, same with my falco. And the reason Zyfe did so well was because he has learned to space very well and he kicks *** on corneria. NO JOHNS

Falco and Olimar as well as Dedede too are the matchups that give Ike the most hurt butt, butthurt, and sore rears in general; that's why he's complaining about having merely one main of them per person lol.

No stage johns, Steven. Practice your ****, and do it on all neutrals (FD, FoD, BF, YS, DL64, and PS). Ho.

Kaelen is too good. Idk when James is going to update the front page, if it's gonna be tonight, tomorrow, before march is over or in the first days of April.

Fazha, pick me up from Greyhound in Summerland perhaps next sat? James may not make it. We'll still swing by his house (judged that he makes arrangement with his folks) to pick up at least my TV if not his too.

If any of you are feeling smashed out, I'll be bringing CvS2 (Capcom vs SNK 2) for a bit of a breather after that tense tournament, but Brawl especially will still be played, especially if regulars that didn't attend the tournament (Him, Culex, Danny, Daphne, Evan, etc) go. I'll play Melee with whoever wants some lessons, son. Post here if you're interested, I know at least SOMEONE is, no names said. ;-)

Oli is a 9-1 against Ike. Same with Falco. I lost, though, no johns. No confidence in Fox at all, kind of depressing. He was scared of Pikachus and Zeromuses.

Calling no johns on a 9-1 matchup is kinda weak. I mean, I can turn around and point out that I was a combined even against the both of you, in 9-1 matchups. Does that make me a better player? Probably not, and I don't go around throwing that out there. As for AJ, you didn't switch to MK. You switched to Melee.

And I switched to Melee back in late april/early may last year lol, and I used DK ONCE at the tournament, in doubles no less.



Edit: I want to expand on the whole "No johns, no one forces you to play Ike" bit. This ain't me saying you shouldn't use Ike but more me saying you shouldn't use Ike in those matchups, especially if they're truly 90-10 (I'm quite sure the only matchup that's like that is something like Sheik to Pikachu in melee, considering not even CF is that bad against MK). It's in the same respect that my DK vs D3 matchup is **** near helpless. Will I use a DK vs D3? Maybe, but I won't EVER try it in tournament. Same as I won't use my Samus right now against CFs, Marths, or Jigglypuffs in melee tournaments, for an example, or my Zelda against a Marth. It's dumb, and I HAVE other ways to cover it, just as you have your own subs to cover Ike's horrible matchups. That's why no johns, especially when refering to characters. If you happen to be naturally bad against characters regardless of what character you use, like my problem with Melee Falcos, no johns. Learn the matchup.

I just find it unlucky that I'm the only player in the mid-high tier that plays often that has to deal with 9-1 Matchups more often than when they play James. Like, it'd be different if there was a more saturated group, and Dotz had to deal with good Kirbys/Marths(Don't mean to get too personal, but Danny is not a good kirby, My Ike 2-stocks her.) and Zyfe had to play Whatever the heck Oligarchy is weak against.

The only point I'm trying to make here is that the community, with the exception of James, has been pretty negative towards my choice to main Ike, and it's disheartening to even play smash when the advice I get from all the best players is "stop playing Ike, play someone else. Ike's bad, blah blah blah". I don't think anyone was impressed or congratulated me for going 6-4 against Chicken Salad with a character that is supposedly so bad I shouldn't play him, especially not in those matchups.

EDIT: Yes, they are truely 90-10. My issue is exactly what you guys are reccomending, though. The next step for Zyfe and Dotz is to learn even more tricks and perfect their character. The next step for me? Learn another character, whom will probably replace Ike as my main. So, get a new main.

I'd say he's top tier, so does ****ING M2K so yeah, Oli is good. He just has a massive *** learning curve to reach that kind of level.

That's very important. Zyfe would suck crap with Pikachu, Dotz would suck crap with DK and Fazha would suck crap with Peach. They're pretty much the sideways/opposite/****ed up style compared to what they have as strengths/weaknesses in playstyle. Fazha ***** with Ike, Zyfe ***** with Olimar, Dotz ***** with Falco. Tiers litterally mean NOTHING until the HIGHEST HIGHEST level of play. They don't even really effect me too much, let alone anyone else here.

No sub = bad idea. Even M2K has subs, he might not use them almost ever cause he's just so good, but he still does. In melee he HAS to go Fox+Marth+Sheik or whatever to win, not just one or the other. Well stop feeling sorry for yourself or whatever you're doing. You have to deal with 9-1 match ups, big deal. Ka Master has to deal with Sheiks, Falcons, Falcos, Marths and all of that at the HIGHEST level of play possible, and he finds ways to win and he doesn't complain that he has to deal with it and how unfair it is for Luigi that nobody else has such bad match ups. Dooo iiiit!!!

Nobody is negative about you maining Ike but you. You're the only one that has brought up how bad match ups are or whatever. People just say 'no johns' when you do. So no johns.
And I was the first person probably EVER to say that Ike was the worst character ever. Like... in the world type of thing. He's so bad! But ONLY against the BEST player with every character in the world. So it shouldn't even matter cause the best players with every character in the world will never be at the same tourney anyway XD

You don't need a new main, you need a sub. Dotz and Zyfe do too. (Their Falco/Oli won't be enough when they start playing at the next level, same with your Diddy [or whoever you decide to main]) Stay Ike, get a secondary. You tried Kirby, Fox, now maybe Diddy will work. Dotz and Zyfe should start looking too. You're a step ahead of them in that department.

Most people need more characters than what they currently have to be the best they can be. I need less than what I have if I ever want to be at my best. That's so messed up XD

lol, I can't play CF, but that doesn't mean I can't help you out. I have playe dother ones, so I can definitally help you out with combos, setups, matchups, and any other crazy ****. I can't do it myself because playing CF is awkward for me (same reason I can't play DK in melee; both characters are pretty simular, not in moveset but in the movement of hands. idk, hard to explain), but I got the knowledge and I'm like Kubrik as in I can see it and say, yeah, do more of that, or, **** it, Steve, quit trying to start combos with bair, ******, bair just because just about anything he has can start combos lololol.

Also, you took my Zelda to one stock, against my second worst Zelda matchup, lol, and on top of it, I was hungry because SOMEONE ate most of my pizza ( ): ) and my foot was itchy and I couldn't get the Happy Days theme song out of my head. That and my butt was still sore from playing Tim, Kaelen and James. How about those johns?

Thursday night/EARLY friday morning, April 31st/May 1st- Get to Jamesies's house. Make sure to pack light, a note mostly for Max and I, though a good reminder for all of us.

10-11 am May 1st Friday, start voyage to the coast.

1-4pm May 1st, hang around either at SFU, James's aunt (James, make sure your aunt knows and that stuff,) or at metrotown mall and it's arcade equiped with SF3 3rd strike, Marvel Vs Capcom 2, Street Fighter 4, and I think Capcom vs SNK 2 as well. (please guys? ): )

?pm- Go to friday's pre-tournament smashfest and **** to rep Okanagan Melee and brawl. Anyone who isn't going to June's gameclucks tournament should consider this a pre-genesis evaluation: if you lose a match, why did you lose it and what can you do to assure it won't happen again? If you win a match but it's close, what could you have done to assure a more sound victory? etc etc. Still do that regardless though, alright?

Oh, and yeah, may 2-3rd = tournament days. idk when we leave, be it in the morning on the 4th or on the night of the third. depends on James and if he wants to drive or if he wants to stay, rest, and chill with van a bit longer.

If UBCO is out, then we'll find other ways. Worst comes to worst, Xzone. We may just have to pay 5$ or so venue fee or something. Idk, James, I, CC, and maybe Fazha too will work something out.

What are all our venue options? UBCO maybe, idk, we can probably sneak past security for a few weeks again lololol (took like, 8-9 weeks, didn't it?).

Who is able to have them at their house? James, maybe, Steven? Ryne? ****, maybe myself, you guys are not too lazy to commute, I could see what I could work out. Parents would hate it though. Dad might come out and be all, "I SPIT ON THIS GAME!" or some ****. idk, doesn't drive me sometimes when he commutes himself. Pshaaaw. /endrant.

But what else can we do for venues? Just because no UBCO doesn't mean we can't do something else. CC, can you work on making a SMASH club? Or work something out with that video game club? James, if that plan falls through, can you see if they can happen at your house, biweekly if not, and if people are willing to pay for weeklies, xzone maybe? I don't want to have to dish out like, 5$ per hour or whatever their rates are, (5$ is like, hotel expensive, though I'm suyre they're cheaper, right?), Cake, ask your mom if worst case scenario if things can work out down there, and post if you guys are willing to make the highway 97 commute to Penticton. I'll see what I can do around here regardless. We'll probably play in the living room upstairs if we do. Probably have to be hush hush though; mom's prone to headaches and the like. I'll be breaking the rule myself, though, so pre no hypocrite johns.
