Sheer, I think that... nah jk i'm not even gonna **** with this one. Least significant argument ever. Btw, I don't think I can go to apex this year :( . I think winter tournies are going to be out of the question for a while since I'll be coaching high school bball in the winter. Sigh. Oh well, I'll still be at FC.

Noobs on here trying to call me a scrub for disliking camping.

Why do you care if people think you're a scrub, seriously. If I was in your position, I'd be like "yeah I have a scrub mentality". Actually I sort of AM in your position - I probably won't camp even if I think it's better strategy. So I'll say it: yeah I have a scrub mentality

I could care less what anyone thinks about me personally.

It's just the idea that someone is a scrub because they dislike camping is something I find stupid. So I wanted to try and show them how stupid it was.

"You don't like to play as gay as possible to win so you must be a scrub."

Come on how stupid is that lol?

I was being facetious brochacho.

Seriously though I just think the mind set people have on here about what defines a scrub is ********.

Lets play a game where everyone camped, therefore we have no fight, cuz no one wants to approach. Camping makes the game boring, plain and simple.

If Sheer was the kind of guy that would literally rage, close the game, drop out tourney...etc... You know like someone like Smasherx74 would do, then you could call him a scrub. But from just him pointing out how he doesn't like camping doesn't make him a scrub.

I mean everybody has something they don't like. You got people who don't like Hyrule or some don't even like Dreamland. Or dislike basic combos, especially from the likes of Falcon. Or just flat out cheap characters like Kirby and Pikachu. Everyone has something they don't like about the game. To be called a scrub for it is incorrect. The person would be a scrub if he put his dislike as high priority, *****ed and complained, acting out at every chance he can get.

Falcon's basic combos are boring as ****. I think you have to be a boring player to just upsmash upsmash uair uair uair uair upb more than occasionally in a single non-tourney match. Why do that when you can fthrow pivot bair regrab fthrow fair uair upb? Your success rate for 0-deaths will drop, but who cares? They're friendlies.

Wait what is this thread for again?

Wow people realizing this....lol

This why i usually quit, the debates get taken all over the place because once someone losses the actual point, they go off in a "somewhat" relevant direction, but isn't specificity the problem we where actually addressing.

This is how my original point of "People regarding camping as a negative style for competitive play is actually uncompetitive " gets a response of " I'm allowed to have my opinion" and it's seen as viable.

EVERYONE IS ALLOWED TO HATE WHAT EVER THEY WANT IN THIS GAME (pretty sure everyone caught that)

Just don't act like i'm doing something wrong for winning in a situation where that's the objective.

MAYBE i personally made a mistake and simply misunderstood Sheers post, and he ultimately isn't trying to undermine my games...if so please forgive me as his general bashing of me has made me a little syndical when reading said posts.

Ohhh Surri. You beat me in one set ever by camping the hell of me, a strategy I think is extremely lame.

But it's a legal strategy and I never said it wasn't. All I did was express my opinion on it.

For expressing my opinion on it people jumped on me and started calling me a scrub (lololol). And I think the practice of calling someone a scrub just because they dislike a certain strategy is just as lame as camping.

So I wanted to point out how stupid it was, thus how the argument got started. I enjoy a good argument sometimes. It was a fun discussion for me, thus why I kept posting in here. If it wasn't fun for anyone else I don't know why they'd keep posting.

ok sorry that's just a pet peeve. well pretty much all grammar things are pet peeves of mine lol.

Because fthrow fair uair upB is like the noobiest combo around :troll:
All things aside the "couldn't care less" sentiment is awesome lol.

I am well aware this has no real value against what he said but it was funny.

And sheer, like i said, i may have misinterpreted what you in specific meant, my mistake.

Just for the record though, I've beaten you in tourneys a few times now, join the ladder and we can have another competitive event match if you don't believe me :o

I'm pretty sure you've only beaten me in one set ever. In almost all the tourneys I've joined only Jaime, Boom, or A$ has beaten me (and I never seem to be in the same online tourneys as malva).

There are some rare outliers, like yourself. But 95% of my tourney losses have come to those 3.

I'm not disagreeing with that but i still remember beating you in at LEAST one other tourney.

either way that's not important honestly.

Jin is the best random outlier!!

Nope, you can even name search "sheer surri" on smashboards and it will clearly show you we've only ever played in once. We were actually paired in another tourney but you forfeited due to a broken controller or something. Boom got 1st, I was 2nd, jaime 3rd, and you 4th.

Jin is one indeed. He beat my Yoshi legit in a low tier tourney. Ironically the round right after I beat Jaime. Then in losers I was just playing for fun and lost to Koro with my Jiggly. So two outliers were in the same tourney.

I'm not gonna go digging though tourneys, it's not that important...as i've said a few times now.

If you are concerned we can enter another event, the ladder is getting back up again ;)

If you type in "sheer surri" on smashboards it brings up 2 pages. You can skim through that in like 30 seconds. That's what I did.

I'm not sure why you want to play me so bad? You camped the hell out of me, most boring matches in my life. Why would I enter some event just to play you and have some more of the most boring matches in my life lol?

If you want to play me so bad enter competitive events I've already joined and hope we get paired up.

Commentary to our match be something like this:

Commentator: 1 minute into the match, surri double jumping on the top platforms and sheer chasing.

Commentator: 3 minutes into the match, surri still double jumping and sheer still chasing.

Commentator: 5 minutes into the match, surri double jumping and sheer chasing.

Commentator: 7 minutes into the match, this **** is boring I'm leaving.

I'm too good I guess?

I'm just trying to illustrate to people that it wouldn't be a match that's worth watching or even getting hyped about.

Commentary to our match be something like this:

Commentator: 1 minute into the match, Hbox double jumping on the top platforms and Armada chasing.

Commentator: 3 minutes into the match, Hbox still double jumping and Armada still chasing.

Commentator: 5 minutes into the match, Hbox double jumping and Armada chasing.

Commentator: 7 minutes into the match, this **** is boring, let's go Young Link and do the same thing (reverse everything.)
Replacing Surri with Hungrybox, replacing Sheer with Armada. Cue Apex 2012 grand finals.

Just to clear thigns up I am never actually "avoiding him" just attacking from above. Also, our LONGEST match was just over 6 mins.

People like to just make up random definitions of what they think a scrub is. Like Sirlin. And asianaussie. :)

So there's a million different definitions out there.
