I'm beginning to think Pit is overpowered.

Nope (^_^) So....it's just a matter of recongnizing Pros and Cons of Pit's, and taking advantage of that.

ohh no pit is not broken, try using pit against metaknight and see if your opinion stays the same. Sakurai stated he wanted to balance out the game, but instead made "pokemon type weakness" gimick. While Metaknight struggles against a good Ike player, Pit's main options when fighting meta knight are his arrows which do not work against meta's cheap tornado, or his fsmash while the rest of his moves are out prioritized.....

Pit haters these days...
Sure he's a great character. I main him after all. But every character has a weakness.
Pit is somewhat light, the heaviest of the lightweights.
His arrows are spammable, but dont do much damage, unless you charge them.
His melee attacks dont have as much range as other sword characters, though he is capable of attacking somewhat fast.
Mirror shield is only effective against stuff that are in front of Pit, not behind.
His unique Up+B cant be used again if Pit gets hit (And Flinched so Fox's Blaster dont count) while doing it unless he lands again. Bowser's Fire breath works well in the situation.

In the hands of a pro, he's a dangerous adversary. I dont consider myself a pro-pro but pro enough to use many of his special techniques. I consider myself Moderate-High as a Pit player.

Back to topic, Pit does have some killing moves (B-air, FSmash, F-air, glide attack) and B-air's sweetspot is the strongest of them all.

I'm guessing some ppl think he's overpowered is because of one of the following things:
1: That player continuously gets owned by Pit
2: He's used very often
3: The fact that he has 2 reflectors, a projectile, the ability to glide, and a great recovery.
4: Just jealous of Pit

I do also notice that Pit isnt completely that good in a FFA match, though he dominates well in 1v1 matches.

But please, PLEASE STOP SAYING PIT IS A LIGHTWEIGHT. EXACTLY MIDDLEWEIGHT =/= LIGHTWEIGHT.

The reason people call Pit overpowered is because he literally outmatches almost all of the characters in the game. So far, people have only said "WUT ABOUT METANIGHT LOLZ!!" Congratuf*ckinlations, Pit has ONE counter in MK. Overpowered doesn't mean he beats all characters, it means that he outmatches the majority of them.

But at the very least, you admit he's a good character, if not one of the best. He's beatable, but his moveset is so stacked that it's difficult to do.

I just got very pissed off when someone has the utter audacity to call Pit underpowered.

I, myself never fought a MK with Pit yet so idk how good he is against him. While MK slightly has more melee range, Pit still has some tricks he can use against him.
As for this overpowered talk, Many Pit players I faced are weak against my Bowser and his Power.

As mentioned by some, he is Good and by no means a bad character or unworthy of maining.

However, everyone who originally thought he was "top tier" should know by now that he is not. I've been playing online alot and every day my Pit seems to get stomped worse and worse to the point where I may be changing my main. (I love his playstyle but I went from doing really well to getting manhandled by random characters (still no trouble against the space furries however))

People are catching on to his tactics, seeing as how everything prior was speculation. Now everyone knows pit, they know his priority, speed, ect, so the surprise factor is gone.

agree completely, stop saying pit has weaknesses like everyother char and he has a -few- bad matchups, sure he has weaknesses but they are insignificant when comparing them to his godly advantages.

I used to think Pit was really overpowered when I first started playing, but it's really not so bad. Once I learned that I could approach through the storm of arrows with advancing powershields (way easier than it sounds) and realized how lackluster his melee range is (for a sword user, anyway), he became a lot more manageable.

I mean, he's definitely good. Probably well above-average, even. The arrows are really useful for a lot of stuff, and his speed-to-power ratio is better than it probably should be. But I wouldn't call him broken.

all my friends who i play pit against have done very well avoiding arrows now, and know many ways to punish a pit for overusing them.

His aerials aren't really that ranged (ie his uair, nair, and I think his sweetspot bair), but I think their priority is what makes them hard to deal with. Plus the multihits just add to their awesomeness. I main him, he's good, I hate playing as high/top tier chars, but he's just really fun to play. If you want broken, the obvious answer is MK. Pit's not getting banned at any tourneys...soon, anyways lol

Agreed. Pit is extremely underpowered. The guy you are playing is just good at keeping you away and comboing.

I do agree he lacks killing moves but on the other hand he can gimp other characters to a degree.

Well i think pit has more potential almost all other characters, he is just extremely difficult to master. Contrary to common believe, he is NOT pick up and play. Its quite sad watching someone be beaten helplessly by me or whoever because its their first time using Pit and they cant do ANYTHING right!
