I'm addicted to the power...

So I main Luigi (if you couldn't tell), but I recently picked up MK purely to help my friends get to know the matchup better, since he is a huge problem at tournaments and none of the people in my ring of smashers plays him. Now... I think I'm addicted to the power, its a problem. I used to only play MK when they asked me too, and now I use him all the time because it makes everything so easy. It... it makes things TOO easy. How does one go about getting away from MK? Or are you trapped the moment you pick him up? Help me........

i still main MK but i moved on to other characters in friendlies... The only time i'll play metaknight is in Tournament.


im friendlies i play diddy kong and marth mostly, but i play a bunch of other characters for fun even though im not good with em...


what led me away was the constant complianing i got from my friends on how broken or cheap he was. so i just started to play diddy kong instead.

I know what you mean. I played him almost exclusively for a while. I wanted a little variety so I started playing around with Falco and he seemed to suit me better, so he's my new main. Maybe you should try experimenting with some of the other top/high tier characters to see if they fit you better?

Ya Falcos a really good MK secondary. I would say he's almost **** hear half and half with MK for me.

In all seriousness, I encourage people to pick up other characters so scrubs will stop johning about why their characters metagame isn't evolving.

I myself picked up DK because I hated fighting Snakes and Meta dittos.

Sure, Hylian. We've heard it all before. Usually, it's just a little MK now and then...then at parties, then, hey it's the weekend so why not? Then you wake up in the morning and, hell, you've got free time, why not some more MK? Then pretty soon it's every freaking match.

seriously though, he's fun at first but for me he gets boring pretty fast... but he will cover your bases well.

I agree I used MK and then I switched to Lucario and I use him more than MK now.

But still MK is addicting to use with all his air moves

My main will always be Luigi, I still have the most fun with him, because hes just THAT much of a pimp. However MK is just SOO good.... I hate myself for playing him...

Unless his friends skill are far superior than his, it will still be easy.
MK has an advantage, and the only way to beat that is just to be a lot better than the MK user or use MK yourself.

I'm a fan of clubbing the MK user over the head with an extra GC controller, then three stocking them while they bleed on my shoes. Easily the most consistent strategy to beat MK, IMO.
