Counter's JC was an unintentional holdover from Brawl+ iirc

@ KuroganeHammer KuroganeHammer : I mean, Ike is one of the more technical characters, so I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for. He jumps out of Quickdraw which opens up a whole new world for him. I swear he'd be top 10 in Brawl if he could just do that, no other changes. Key to mastering Ike is pushing his QD to the limit and getting used to his rather unique combo game.

QD is jump cancellable?

For reference I'm looking for things like Mewtwo's hover cancelled aerials, Roy's wavebounced Blazer etc.

You didn't know Ike could jump out of QD in P:M? That's one of Ike's biggest tools O.o

Fancy stuff: QD -> FH past opponent -> wavebounce Eruption

Edit - If you're THAT new to Ike you may not know you can wall jump out of WD twice.

I'm new to P:M in general.

I literally have no idea what I'm doing.

It's ok though, because what I do will help me get better anyway so...

Um. Stuff 'bout Ike, stuff 'bout Ike.

All the Quick Draw techniques as follow
-QD into JC Upsmash
-QD into JC Grab
-QD into Wavedash
-QD into RAR + Bair
-QD into a wall and Walljump (twice)
-QD into Shorthop/Fulljump/etc

Those are the most interesting things with Quick Draw

Another aspect about Ike you'll want to know is how his hitboxes work.

Ike has Tip, Middle, Hilt, and Body hitboxes on everything. Tip is the weakest, Hilt is the strongest, the others are in between. Makes combo-ing kind of hard to really have set in stone. It's really improvised.

It's worth noting that while the tip hitboxes have the lowest knockback, their KB angle is lower than the blade (middle), hilt, and arm (body) hitboxes, which makes them better for gimps. I think the blade and arm hitboxes have the same KB stats as the hilt hitboxes, but the hilt hitboxes do 2% more than the blade and arm hitboxes, which makes them do more KB (since the KB formula uses the % of the opponent after the attack as part of the calculation).

yes, I have access to all the hitboxes obvs, you'll be getting a table with all that info sorted

ike has different hitlag multipliers all over his moves, his moveset properties is going to be an absolute NIGHTMARE

i will have to murder the person who made this character

The strong hit of dash attack looks like: 12%/12%/14%/10%/12%

with an angle of: 361/361/361/35/361

Base knockback is... 4B, which is 75 along all the hitboxes.

KBG is 50 over all the hitboxes (which means it doesn't scale as well as others into high percents) and it differing amounts of shield damage throughout the move but cbf converting from hex

Hitlag multiplier is 0.90x/0.90x/1.10x/0.70x/0.90x

then it goes into a weaker hit which cbf writing.

Look at that, I know more about the move than all of you guys do. :3

(also there's apparently an unshieldable hitbox here that deals 200 extra shield damage so.... lol?)

I THINK it's on eruption, but I haven't even played Ike in game yet so it could be somewhere else.

Rule number 1 of playing Ike: He is your main or you do not play him. You cannot be a good Ike player with him as your secondary.
I'd say that depends on how strong your muscle memory and player fundamentals are. Back when Strong Bad used to play Ike, his Ike was very impressive even though it was a tertiary character compared to his DK and Wario.

Rule 2 of fightclub - QD is the best move ever (for Ike).

Not the best but it gives Ike a ton more mobility + still have quite a bit of options.

I usually opt for JC grab rather than the attack OoQD because people shield a lot. You can reverse JC grab too so you don't get grabbed (less chance) if they spot dodge it.

Strong Bad said he quit because it was too hard to keep his Ike competitive as a secondary/tertiary character. It is certainly do able to have a good Ike as a secondary but it may be more that the person playing is just good at smash and not good at playing Ike.

Better than DK and Wario?

My friends need to learn how to deal with Ike because they keep saying he's cheap

Even cheaper than Meta Knight

Ike (as well as Ganondorf) is a high-tier character to casual players because he hits hard and far. Anyone who doesn't have a basic grasp on the fundamentals of spacing is going to have a bad time against him.

I also wouldn't suggest Ike as a secondary. KDJ never uses Ike in tournament despite having a good one (beat me in a $5 MM at apex, altho my Ike was a lil rusty it was certainly no slouch). Vwins is like the only player I know of to have success using more than 1 character including Ike in tournament. Ike's really the type of character you have to main. He's like Fox in how much effort you have to put into him except he doesn't have absurd ******** qualities that you can fall back on as a player using him as a pocket character. He also doesn't beat many characters very hard. He's a very fair character, meaning he wins slightly or loses by a marginal amount to most characters, rather than hard countering some.
