If you had to choose a character from each of these non-video game medias, who would make it in?

Continuing on with my choices, in addition to Godzilla

For a cartoon character, one choice would be Stewie Griffin, since he has a big moveset potential, including explosives and ray guns. SpongeBob would be another, with a fun moveset and being able to tank jabs (he is a sponge after all)

For Anime, Escargoon would by in the game, on condition that King Dedede would get the Anime voice as well.

For Comics, too much to choose from, so abstaining

That is all I got

Oh, this is a fun topic!

Live action TV show or movie
The Doctor
(Doctor Who). With a 50+ year history and fourteen incarnations, there should be more than enough to build a good moveset. Their moveset could be some kind of "pacifist doing accidental" damage like Villager and Isabelle have, with a slight focus on the Sonic Screwdriver. There are obviously more incarnations than costumes, but I'd still say that one incarnation per alt would work best, like with Bowser Jr. As for who'd get in, I'd take the 13th, 12th, 11th, 10th, 9th, 4th, 1st and 3rd Doctors. Nine might be exchanged for another classic one, though.

Cartoon animated TV show or movie
Either Aang or Korra (Avatar the Last Airbender/The Legend of Korra). Sure, someone like Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck would a more obvious pick, but Avatar has to be one of the most popular cartoons around. Not to mention that Aang/Korra could very easily offer the basis for a very creative moveset.

Anime/manga
Goku and Dragon Ball are boring. I want Edward Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist). With his alchemy, I could easily see him having a basic moveset philosophy similar to Little Mac: Very strong on the ground (more to transmute), weaker in the air. Though obviously nowhere near as weak as Mac. He could also use a spear for some of his moves - he tends to do that in the series, and Smash doesn't really have those.

Trading Card Game (TCG)

An UNO colour change + draw 4 card

Comic book/graphic novel
Scrooge MacDuck
. The DuckTales video game alone already has enough basis for a moveset, so it shouldn't be too hard to get something together.

Fictional novel/literature
I may be a huge LotR fan, but I'm an even bigger fan of Discworld, so I'll go with Death. He's admittedly not that much of a fighter, but cool as hell to have him playable. Plus, scythe user.

Optimus Prime from the TV Prime Series would seriously be a amazing character as a DLC fighter being able to transform in to a truck has a blaster in his hand and loads of battle quotes.

I don’t really flirt with the idea of non-Vg characters in Smash, which is why I can’t stand SSF.
But since I need every excuse possible to play more of their games...

I would love having the TMNT aboard. Maybe in one character a ‘la PT.
They have smash like movesets from TMNT Smash Up.
Or one character (Leonardo) whose specials is having assist attacks by his brothers.

B neutral: Sword boomerang (smash up)
Up+B: Michelangelo Helichucker
Side+B: Raphael Double sai ram attack
Down+B: Donatello Bo spin multi-hit attack/Reflect.

Final Smash: Cowabunga Crush.
All four perform a series of chain attacks on the opponent, and finish with a quadruple shell attack (like the one they perform on Tatsu in the first movie).

Scott Pilgrim is probably the only non-VG character I'd be alright with.

Cartoon: Senor Hasbeena from Mucha Lucha, he would have interesting moves like probably dance like and disco themed attack moves.
Anime: Cure Milky from Star Twinkle Precure, it is because she is my favourite Precure and I want to see a Precure in fighting game.

Live TV show or movie: James Bound

Cartoon animated series or movie: Steven Universe or Finn The Human.

Anime manga: One Punch Man/Saito or Naruto pre-Shippuden.

Trading Card Game: (Insert Jackie Chan confused meme face)

Comic book/graphic novel: Hancock, isn't based on any pre-existing comic but is definitely the indie comic of superheroes. Hancock gets my vote.

Fictional novel/literature: Harry Potter or Sally.

Jotaro Kujo would be a pretty rad character I think. I'm imagining he would fill a bar to get Star Platinum just like Joker, and he could make Star Platinum lunge forward for a long jab attack (ora ora ora).

Def someone with direct gaming/nintendo ties. Mike Tyson or Tony Hawk would work for me. Would not be against Wreck it Ralph either since that movie was about video game characters.

Piccolo from DBZ, because I think he could be a more interesting zoner than Min-Min could ever be while also being a fan favorite character of many people. He has great special move potential and can use his stretchy arms to great effect Without them being obnoxious.

I will be adding:
Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail (would have a cool gimmick with you having to adapt to losing certain movement options and attacks due to limbs being cut off as your percentage gets higher)
Max Goof from A Goofy Movie (moveset inspiration would be split between 80's inspired nerdy stuff and late 90's inspired extreme sports stuff)
Trunks (I don't like the MHA characters enough to warrant them a spot and it's the only anime I've ever watched, but from what I've played of FighterZ Trunks is cool and fun, plus he's the inspiration for my favorite fictional character)
Never played a trading card game
Scott Pilgrim (or Ramona Flowers, either would be really fun to play as with very charming animations, and thanks to the game we have a lot to use for movesets)
Rowan Damisch/Scythe Lucifer (he's just really badass and has no shortage of weaponry to utilize)

Live-action: Luke Skywalker from Star Wars.
Cartoon: Mickey Mouse. He would follow his friend Sora into Smash.
Anime/Manga: Goku. Of course, with Bandai-Namco having the rights to the Dragon Ball games and being the most popular non-video game character for the Smash Ballot, I really want Goku in.
TCG: Uh, I only know Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh. So let me take a random card from Magic: The Gathering.... Elvish Warrior?
Comic: Batman. We have a Robin and a Joker, so why not Batman?
Novel: Harry Potter.

Hmm... That's a lot of male characters. You know what, I'll do another list for females!

Live-action: Ripley from Alien
Cartoon: Korra, the Avatar in Legend of Korra.
Anime/Manga: Sailor Moon
TCG: You know what? How about the Queen of Hearts?
Comic: Wonder Woman.
Novel: Toon Girl. Don't know who that is? She is from the self-titled novel that I published myself in 2017. The star of my second book and fourth-wall breaking member of my shared universe recurring super hero team, the Justicers. Susan Painter is a girl born with cartoon powers and is meant to look like an anime character when my books are adapted into live-action.

When I was younger, I always used to think Spongebob (my choice for a cartoon character for a non video game character in Smash. He'd legit have his Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl moveset.
Goku would be my pick for an anime character (obviously).
