Imagine how much farther advanced everything would be.I just can get my head around why people are so greedy/focus on only themselves. The human race should strive to constantly better/advance the human race. Why can we work together as one driving force instead of almost everyone working for themselves.

Think about it if all the top people(from all countries)in their various professions worked together we could do so much more.

Anyone else see what im getting at?

Basically the entire human race is in competition with itself. Lets say Japan comes out with the first wrist watch hologram projecting televisions. They sell them for millions taking all the profit for themselves. Now lets say it was a joint project between Japan and USA, now the profit has to get split between the two. Bluntly put, the human race is too greedy for its own good.

Its sad that it has to be that way though,Isin't it.
well in a way yes it is, but also, it sort of has to be how it is right now. If everyone did all get together and start developing new things, people would be too nervous to buy anything knowing that a better model would be coming out a month later. Imagine buying a Wii and then the Wii 2 came out a year and a half later, you'd feel pretty duped

Thats true. But why would you care about stuff like that when the majority of the worlds problems would cease to exist.

The thing is, with one problem solved, a new problem is created. They solve world hunger, now they need more money to actually feed their own country. In all actuality, the government is so corrupt that I dont waste my time thinking about it. If you've ever seen the film Zeitgeist, you would have a whole new outlook on life.

studies have shown that if everyone in the world jumped at the same time, the earth will explode.

looking at the current state of the world in a functionalist point of view, the entire world and universe is already working in unison and has been since the beginning of time. Otherwise we would cease to exist.

Ah a lateral thinker.I love it.The planet and the universe may be working in harmony but its most intelligent inhabitants aren't.

Well, that may sound good said aloud. If you disregard human nature, and everyone worked together, would we actually advance more quickly? Money and especially competition are two huge motivators to making something bigger and better than before. If you cut those out, people have less motivation to advance or work harder.

Unison? Life is boring enough already. People/groups need to do their on individual thing to keep things interesting.

«Prepare to be assimilated. Resistance is futile.»

You don't really want to end up like that, do you? Individuality is the spice of life.

Our society works much better with inequality and hatred, this is why capitalism > communism. Anyways point being you can say all you want that you'll trust working w/ foreigners from around the world that you've never heard of but deep down you would just be lying to yourself.

Pretty much.

All men are not equal, thus communism and any type of collective unity, fails.

Man is a territorial and hierarchical creature. That's why countries, corporations, and other entities like them exist the way they do, and why they feel the need to compete with each other. We separate ourselves naturally into groups, and then we try to dominate the others. As long as man has no reason to unite into a single group, there will always be separation. It's this whole "I have to be better than that guy" mentality that breeds such profound greed in each of us. Do I even need to go into religion and how it unnecessarily divides people?

What a great world it would be if we didn't act that way. Unfortunately, humans aren't all that unified when it comes right down to it, whether it's our race, gender, religion, or whatever else, nor are we very loyal. Can you honestly say you wouldn't screw your friend over for a million dollars? How about a billion? How much money would it take to make you kill someone, honestly?

It's the same with countries. We gather together in groups of millions and try to outmatch the other groups, all in the grand pursuit of money and power. Oh, sure, we might say it's for something like Freedom or whatever, but honestly how often is that really the case? How many wars were started because one side thought they were better or they deserved something more than the other? We all like to think we're better than everyone else, that we're always right in an argument. That's humanity for you, and until we actually find a reason to unify together as a single race then I don't see us ending the fighting anytime soon.

Ill look into that.Oh and pikaville is not a commie.Im just a guy with desires of a united human race.

Let me ask you this.We all know that our solar system will come to an end someday(when the sun gives up and becomes a red giant and eventually a white/red dwarf or black hole or whatever.)But do you think the human race will still be around to see that happen.I say no we will have annihilated each other long, long, long before then.
