Make it so when you load the game it automatically starts with 4 stock mode instead of having to switch everytime from 2:00 Time battle

^ You mean something like the game remembers the settings you have set? I don't think enforcing that exact ruleset for everyone is a good idea but having the game remember the last setting changes you made would be cool.

Add in the tournament organizer program, online play, and be able to save the game to ur memory card so all u need for setups is a disc, amemory card, and the normal amount of gamecubes and tv's

I would get rid of Dr. mario, and pichu, and add Ridley/Meta-Knight/Dedede and Scizor/deoxys/PKMN trainer. Then I would balance all characters, and give it a GOOD adventure mode.
Dr.Mario and Pichu are amazing. I dread the day Metroid fanboys get there way with Ridley and I don't want more Pokemon, I certainly don't want MK either.

obviously character balance is first and foremost. particulars on that note

-L-cancels: balanced around the move/character/shieldstun/hitstun, the universal 1/2 the lag is silly and lazy

-every character having at least 1 move that gives slight frame advantage or is even with some kind of diminishing returns on shieldstun with maybe a 3 second timer before it resets back to regular shieldstun (edit: on second thought if everyone had a good shield and OoS options the shieldstun diminishing returns wouldn't be needed at all and would just be a crutch for continuing to hold block and react to grabs)

-powershielding actually reducing blockstun would be really nice and make it like many other fighting games

-every character given a shield and OoS options that aren't garbage

-every character given multiple ways to recover and recovery mixups

basically give every character the full set of game mechanics that fox/falco enjoy. they honestly seem like the only complete characters to me. stuff like shortening illusion and jumping out of shine seems like something that they did then didn't have time to fully implement for most other characters.

A finished and regularly updated Project:M with lagless online play, and L-canceling removing all landing lag like it did in SSB64.
That would make all aerials unpunishable with too much potential for infinite shield pressure.

Yeah, MK is a pretty cool character (though I personally hate him), they just kinda screwed up when they designed him for Brawl.

Oh and one major change people seem to be forgetting.

Remove phantom hits.

i don't mind phantom hits... iirc, when that happens, you shouldn't really be hitting the opponent anyways, so I'll take dishing out some damage over just plain missing.

Whatever small tweaks can be made to certain characters to make them more viable or fix obvious flaws while maintaining their original style of play. Things like Yoshi jumping from shield and a recovery option in side-B etc.

Making powershield more effective is dangerous because you should be buffing approaches first and foremost :) obviously most projectiles need more priority than they currently have.

More effective and applicable IASA frames and possibly instead of decreasing lag of L-cancels to 2/3 add IASA on landing for aerials but where you can't shield or use select B moves (shines for example) for it but you can cancel the lag with other options like dash, jump and attacks. This would help buff offensive approaches while not buffing Fox and Falco's shine pressure.

Also make it to where C-stick down and shield is an option select where if you are on a plat or surface you can drop through it will shielddrop and if you can't drop through the surface it will spotdodge as normal. Or maybe vice-versa where control stick drops and C-stick spotdodges that way you can't buffer the shielddrop but you can C-stick the aerial faster. IDK but one of those options so that shielddrop becomes more viable on plats

Also make it easier to execute certain character's turnaround Up-Bs

Amidst the abounding light of heaven!
Cstick smashes in all modes (who cares about the camera).
Multiplayer 4 stocks, 8min by default.
AI that owns me.
Online play (obviously).
Nerf Pichu.

And maybe Lloyd Irving if we're going to throw in fanbased dreaming.

I wouldn't change the game, I would change the competitive scene. Company endorsements, big stage face offs, live broadcasted games, professional commentary, tournament seasons with series, etc.

I think the community has been doing well at trying to make competitive smash better, but I really wish it could hit more mainstream so that people can see how ****ing cool this game is.

I just wanna improve the balance, like make G&W the same weight as Fox, make him able to SL all aerials and make Chef faster, make Roy the same weight as Sheik, improve Blazer's traveling distance and make him less of a clone, make Pichu the same weight a Jigglypuff, make its electric moves deal 1% damage to itself and smash attacks 2%, make its dair a spike and make it able to Quick Attack Cancel (imagine the mindgames that could arise from QACing into a wavedash!), give Young Link the Gilded Sword for improved killing power and range, etc. :awesome:

Oh how could I forget...

Somehow make the game run without lag on things other than CRT TV's.
This isn't the game's fault, it's the gamecube/wii's fault.
It doesn't output to a modern television's resolution so getting scaled up takes more time per frame and subsequently introduces lag.
