How to gimp Fox's up b recovery

What should Sheik do when a Fox or Falco uses their up B recovery?

I normally play Dr. Mario and Falco, so normally I'd either cape them or fall off and bair them with Doc, or just intercept with a dair for the kill with Falco. As Shiek I've tried to use a down smash to intercept it like I would if they used illusion/phantasm for recovery, but I get out-prioritized. Should I go for a needle gimp, or jump off and bair? Something else?

well... if i have full needles i stay in the edge... w8 for fox/falco then i grab and back trow (out of edge) he's going to try use Forward B so a jump and trow my needles, Fox/falco will get under the plataform and will use UpB recovery... so i jump out and fair (could be Bair) on his face... my English Sux xD! i hope u get that xD!

I dont nair for edgeguarding, but I can definently suggest dropping down and using fair, or ledgehopping a bair.

I've seen KDJ and others drop off the ledge to a nair to edgeguard a Marth, but I don't know if that'd work against Fox.

Wouldn't it be difficult to hit a fair on the Fox while they're 'charging'? Seems like that would take really precise timing. And as for the down smash, it only works if you hit them at the very end of the up b animation, otherwise you just get hit with the fire.

If he's too low to get hit by ftilt, just edgehog and watch him die. If he's going to go past the ledge, ftilt him, then ftilt again a few times to dsmash or fair. Repeat. If he illusions, pick between ftilt to fair or jab to dsmash.

The question is 'what's the best option', since there are tons of options to gimp fox's recovery. If you have time, I'd say wavedash to hang on the ledge, then jump with a nair or bair is the best option, if fox is low. If he's high, needles will do the trick most of the time, or dsmash. I also often do what witchking of angmar says, but it isn't really the safest option.

just stay safe and bair him. grab the edge and bair, or you can run out and reverse needle cancel, then bair from their. lately i have just been dropping off stage with nairs. its fun and easy. or jump off with fair. needles mess them up too. just needle then edgegaurd.

Downsmash is not good for edgeguarding his upB unless he aimed it high and is falling down. Otherwise, he will aim into you and it doesn't always work. Nair can be ultra sexy edgeguard. Typically I use it when I am on the ledge and fox is under me. For it to be an effective edgeguard, there are a few things you have to do though. First is you have to time it correctly, if I recall correctly its about a half second after you drop from the ledge. After you hit him, if he is at a low percent, he will be able to firefox again, meaning WD to edge and repeat; or if he is infront of or behind you, you can B-air or Fair

this and downsmash should do the trick...you can gay them with needles too but in the end...it'll probably lead to a bair or dsmash.

step 1.) throw needles
step 2.) grab ledge
step 3.) do a bair
Repeat steps 2 and 3 if necessary. if you feel as though you can't reach the ledge in time then follow the guide to step 4
step 4.) do a downsmash
