Can someone clearly yet thoroughly without skimping one detail explain to me how I can correctly Jab Cancel with Ike's neutral A?

Thanks.

press attack button > tap down on control stick > press attack button again

or

set c stick to attack > hold down on control stick > tap backwards of your direction on the c stick

I usually do something like:

A(A) > Crouch > Attack

Theres a pause after the A so thats when you crouch quickly and then do an attack.

My usual Jab cancels are like:

AA > Crouch > Dtilt
or
AA > Ftilt
(Is it still a Jab cancel? I haven't actually played in forever)

It's still a jab cancel.

Although I don't find using D-tilt very effective unless it was just the first hit.

Why would you want to jab cancel with ike? theres not enough hitstun to combo into anything. I'd just stick sith the full 16% jab

Why would you NOT want to jab cancel with Ike?

It's extra damage, refreshes other moves, adds onto mindgames, and most of all, it leads into different attacks.

You gain bare minimum with just regular jabbing while you gain SO much more with Jab canceling.

Either I have unattentive opponents or they didn't care at all.
Yeah I just tried doing it again on a bunch of CPU's, they got out easily.

And the Ftilt jab cancel works well with me, pending on the situation though.

I only Jab-Cancel in Low-Mid percents though, Jab Cancels in High-Percents give me the same result as normal AAA Jab.

EDIT: Oh wow weird question. HeroMystic kinda explained it already.

Is it possible to Jab-Cancel into another jab? Another Jab-Canceled jab?

I remember in Melee I was against a wall and Captain Falcon kept using his first two jabs and canceling it, repeating the process.

Either I have bad DI/short attention span or I found a new infinite.

Would that still work in Brawl or would you be able to jump out?

You're able to escape. However, if you're Ike and you have your opponent against a wall, go F-Throw crazy.

can't you just sdi to avoid any thing else though since Ik's tilts are so slow?

Pretty much.

Which is why it's in the mindgames department. There's a lot of possibilities Ike can do with the jab cancel.

The most effective way to Jab Cancel is AA > Foward Grab > AA > Foward Grab > FTilt

I’m still lacking in the jab canceling department, I think I’m not canceling into tilts enough. Anyway, these are my favorite follow-ups:
A -> grab
The punch doesn’t have much knockback so I don’t need to walk to get my opponent in my grab range.
A->AAA
Again, the punch doesn’t have much knockback so it is possible to restart the sequence.
AA->Utilt
It’s like Ike has Luigi’s firepunch!
A-> AA->Utilt
Combine the two last sequences and voila!

I know how to do jab1->jab2 and repeat in the air, by pressing A twice and then just holding down A in short moderate bursts, but I never figured out how to do that jab cancel on a real opponent, unless I got lucky and they were above me, and simply holding down A would do it for me.

So I press down after the second jab to restart it?
