You can't IV train.

EV training will never go away, but it is more visible this time around.

Since you can't hack "perfect Pokemon" on 3DS at the moment, competitive play will be interesting...

p4 made me a bad ass team for blk/blk2 using a regular DS i think.

but since this is 3ds only, i have no idea how it will work. i will not spend decades EV training pokes. doesnt that take like 500 hours if u do all 6 pokes?

If you know what you're doing, EV training doesn't take all that long. I had about 40-50 EV trained pokemon in pokemon pearl back when I played competitively that I all trained myself (including breeding and stuff, but not breeding for IVs cause that takes too long).

Also, I don't see how the lack of hacking "perfect" pokemon in X and Y will be any different than competitive battling was early on in 4th gen where most people trained their own pokemon.

Or were you guys not around for that back then?

its simple.....

catch a charmander

killed 87 pidgeys

collect 87 feathers from pidgey

glue them to charmander

charmander evolved into Kabuterimon

have kabuterimon fight spiderman

max stats achieved.

yeah I will do ssb4 events for a while as long as school/work allow. the only reason why I "quit" last time was because I was married, new baby and I was in school. well the wife became a ****ing w h o r e and I only get to see my kind like 2 times a month so my only obligation every day is work/school. This means I came back to do HOBOs/WHOBO/LSC but even then it seems you guys (tx as a whole) are not all that interested in brawl anymore and that is why I am done with BRAWL once whobo 5 is over.

You can bank on it I will never do brawl again on any major level. it may be a side event one day or something but never again will I host a brawl focus event. the game is **** and the people who foam at the mouth over it are **** (atleast in tx). My next series will be more than just smash but it will stay on the Nintendo side of the fence. None of this esports or fgc bull****.
I can understand the frustration, believe me. As old as I am and as long as I have been playing traditional fighters and now Smash (I've been doing this fighting game stuff since I was 18 years old, I'm now 34), I have the rather unique perspective as both a participant in over 40 tournaments across games from Street Fighter 2 to Brawl and Project M, and as a stepfather to a 22 year old and it boils down to one simple fact (no offense to anyone here): Kids these days are ****ing spoiled and entitled little ********. Parents simply aren't doing their job like they used to, plain and simple. Quite frankly Xyro, I don't blame you one bit for taking Brawl out because of these negative reactions, in fact I applaud you for it.

Ive been doing events since 2004 (really 2003 but those don't count imo) when i was 15-16 years old running melee events and soul calibur 2 events. Yea there were bad apples (attitudes) that attended my events and yes there was drugs and yes there were ****ty playstyles/characters that people HATED to play and yes there was that "buddy buddy" system but it was a minority type of thing. And usually, those people got flushed out rather quickly BECAUSE they were a minority and no one would join in on that crap. But the brawl generation? Drugs are everywhere, s h i t t y attitudes are everywhere, boring/painful/angering play-styles RUN the game (olimar/mk/ICs/diddy....ect), "buddy buddy" systems and being apart of inside jokes are THE thing to be in.

Then you have kids that literally go to an event and expect to be treated as kings. They expect to have the best venue of all time, expected to be live streamed, expected to be seeded as top level players, expect to have AC blowing on their face at all times, expect to have free food, and worst of all they expect you to give them a "2nd chance" when they are 45min-1hr late to enter an event or return from lunch. They expect YOU to SERVE them.

Though i am only 25, i have literally spent a decade of my life doing events for people and over time i have started to feel like am crusty and bitter as hell. 70% due to the people, 29% because of the game and 1% because of me. That is why i cannot wait for smash 4. With every new smash game, not only does it mean a totally new game, it means that a new generation of people will appear and clear out the GARBAGE that plagues the previous game. I saw this when melee trumped ssb64 and when brawl trumped melee here in Houston. That is also why i am adding other NON smash games. I hope it will add even more NEW people to the scene.

That 1% i failed to expand on in the previous paragraph ill cover here. I am slightly guilty of letting this scene get to the situation it is in. I should have not been so lenient to all the things i allowed to happen. I should have had cursing rules in place, should have kept mk legal, should have not allowed myself to use terrible venues like bars/hook bars/ghetto azz venues, should have banned everyone who brought in drugs/alcohol, should have banned people who start fights or refuse to listen to my rules, should have DQed late people.......the list goes on. This stuff will be fixed next time around.

This morning I tried to shave with my straight edge and it didn't go so well. As I finished putting in a new blade, my phone got a text message and it scared me to the point I twitched. The blade almost cut off my whole hand and I almost died right there in the bathroom naked and alone.

Reminds me of when I ended up cutting my finger with a chef's knife while opening a package of bacon in my cooking class in high school. I don't understand why fingers can bleed so much.

A big difference I've seen between the Houston Brawl community and the Conroe Yugioh Community: Houston Brawl Community puts on a not-so-good front, but is very friendly once you get inside. The Yugioh community has a really nice front and is nice to new players, but is pretty ****ing bad when you actually get in it. To the point where I've had people trying to figure out how much money I make and how much money I have in the bank, like wtf. Not to mention all the cheating that goes on. The Brawl community may not be perfect, but it's FAR from being as bad as the local Yugioh community here is. I stuck with Brawl for a LONG time. I quit the Yugioh community here only a few months after getting into it.

August 23 this Friday is Training Camp (Day 1) going down at Syncs crib. Contact sync or Pj if your interested in coming over. I bumped into a guy who plays brawl and he told me he would be up to challenging all of you and see how good you guys really are. He mains toon link so him and Pj or Jerm should be interesting. He also said that he has a good samus so him vs the green lesbo would be interesting to see as well. I want to set the time for this like around 8 or 9ish. He has some friends that play smash as well so if you guys beat him up pretty bad he can bring his friends over for Day 2 and see what goes down. I would like for everyone that still plays smash hardcore in houston and texas to start there camps now so that way when whobo comes everyone is sharp and solid. Nobody knows what will happen at whobo but I do know that there will be ALOT of money matches so thats why im urging everyone to get solid. I will see you playa's on Friday. Let the training camp begin!

I remember the days I first turned 14 and went to my first smash tourney. I got 17th losing to pozerwolf and immediately going home since I didn't comprehend double elimination. Now I'm going to turn 20 and am sitting in my cal 2 class. Libs don't even know what cal 2 is.

MM any amount against my krool in smash 4?
