Yeah, I know, unless they don't finish the game in time.

But this is good incentive, for sure.

Good to see that something will come out of it either ways.

a cure for cancer will not be found due to evo
MLP is far beyond stupid and makes evo look bad

nothing good will come out of it no matter what.

I'm going to enjoy all the rage and butthurt that will occur once it gets put on the game roster, it's just a matter of waiting now.

It would be nice to see Melee on there, assuming people on smashboards could organize.

But the pony people are crazier, so...

I can only assume 4chan helping MLP.

I mean, they spend thousands on plushies, and are trying to buy their own island so they can build a princess celestia statue and rename the island equestria, there is no limit to what they can do.

I think it's extremely petty that they did this as the speedrunning charity is going on. And it's pretty dumb that MLP fans don't have the foresight to understand the game they are voting for isn't even finished. But whatever, I'll be mildly surprised if PABST doesn't win from a large sony donation.

Hey there.
A majority of MLP fans. There's a difference! :applejack:

Oh, and most people are plenty aware that the game isn't done. They just want to see more content, and are willing to pay for it, more or less.

I meant the ones donating. Though kind of strange that distinction was made by someone with an avatar that looks like it's cropped from pony porn.

From what I understand the creator didn't even have anything planned to release pre-EVO. I just don't think that's the way to go about it. But fans are fans, I guess.

I mean donating to a good cause is a great thing, but the most deserving games are ones with a scene and a metagame and players that will show. If GG and CvS2 had the playerbase I would nominate them, along with Melty Blood. But they don't so I honestly think Melee is the best choice.

How is it strange? A distinction is a distinction no matter the mouth it comes from, right?

I understand that much, I suppose. I just think that whatever proves to have the most commitment to it deserve the spot. If it means that some incomplete fan-game gets the highest degree of dedication to it through money donations, then so be it.

Other game fanbases just need to step it up if they really want their game at the event. :applejack:

You just seem to be a very big fan. The people that donate that way seem to be the fans that support anything with the stamp on it.

So you think that if Sony drops a check for the PR and wins it shows commitment? Same with this and MLP, it doesn't show any sort of player dedication or interest in anything other than the pony label and having deep pockets. It's no surprise that people are hesitating to drop money on Melee from this very community; they understand the reality of the situation is that money from a select few can outweigh the individual donations of many that just can't afford as much.

Yeah, that stamp comment is kinda right on the money a good chunk of the fans. MLP groupies are insane, but what's even crazier is just how much money they have.

The scenario for PSA is a bit different because it's Sony providing.
For the most part though, yes, it does show more commitment. That's just the way it is.

Sucks for the Melee community, but truth be told I find it more hilarious than disappointing. :applejack:

I find it a bit disappointing but I mean I understood the reality even before the charity was set up. Smash (both games) are way more active than MK9 and yet that comes back for another year.

All I can hope for is that if a game undeserving of the spot gets it their viewer count drops so fast it makes Wizard rue making it a **** waving contest instead of being about the communities. All the more reason to support Apex and our own community. And I disagree about it showing more commitment. If one rich man donates more it shows his commitment, not everyone's. To be fair though it isn't much better than a poll where the leading vote gets almost 7k votes and the largest event for it has never broken 400.
