The only person they could of talked to that is "hall of fame" would be AlphaZealot who has access to the Beta Keys. Beyond that, EVERY smash player I know hates that game. They are using the hall of fame list as a way to say it is an official hall of famer.


I am mixed about it. Casually it is fine but competitively...it is ..lol?

The built-in webkit-based internet browser for Nintendo's upcoming Wii U system will have a host of new features, including HTML5 support, Nintendo revealed last Thursday during a Japanese Nintendo Direct that aired simultaneously with the North American Wii U Preview Event. HTML5 is an up and coming web standard that is slowly being adopted by the latest browsers and websites. For example, Youtube (which Nintendo made sure to feature support for in their video demonstration) has an experimental HTML5 version for users with browsers that support it and the necessary video codecs.
However, this HTML5 support is contrasted by the Wii U browser's lack of support for Flash, the latest versions of which are also not supported in the Wii, DS, DSi, or 3DS browsers.




Nintendo also revealed that when players pause their Wii U games and access their internet browser, they will have access to images of the tv and GamePad displays from that paused game. Player-created game screenshots are already known to be used in Nintendo's MiiVerse functonality. However, many details regarding using and saving the images are still unknown.
When users pause a game and access the internet browser, the software will remember the paused game's name and prepopulate search queries with it to help users look for relevant information.
Nintendo also showed video footage of other features of the browser, like tabbed browsing that lets users keep track of several web pages at the same time. The video shows another multitasking scenario where a Youtube video is opened to play on the TV screen, but the GamePad continues to browse the internet as usual even while the video continues to play. One final example is that Wii U owners can simply just browse the internet on their GamePad while the television displays regular programming.
Gamers can even simply tilt the GamePad forward or backward to automatically scroll up and down through long web pages.
Nintendo called the Wii U Browser the quickest browser in Nintendo history. Stay with Nintendo World Report as the Wii U's launch approaches in multiple territories and those claims are put to the test.

No surprise when it comes to not supporting flash. Really it isn't Nintendos fault. Adobe just doesn't make the latest flash versions readily available and open source. HTML 5 is the future anyways. HTML 5 will eventually trump flash. Apple devices do just fine without flash, Android no longer has flash. And less and less places are using flash.

I've been playing casually in the smash arena for a couple years now, but decided to finally start getting involved in the smash community around here. Hope to be able to attend some tournaments soon :3

Flash is seriously being used less and less. If the WiiU is anything like the iPhone 4, it will send you to the correct app(YouTube for example) if u click on a YT link while on the web browser.

Also, I'm pretty sure most modem sites have upgraded to HTML 5 so that it can be viewed on mobile devices. So no worries razer.

Nah idk. I hate the YT app on the iphone. Lots of videos don't come up when you search them as compared to when you use the browser which I do. If anything the iphone having flash would boost it up tremendously. You could use it for a lot of other things besides videos.

But alas I have a laptop so idc for the wiiu browser, plus it has YT, netflix, etc.

Accessing the internet to look around is MUCH diff that having a online network to link up+play each other. Having a GOOD online structure is actually really hard to do if

A. Its not a paid service(XBLive). XBLive>>>>>>>>>>PSN
B. You(Nintendo) have never given a **** about a legit online structure until one gen ago(wii). GCN online was used for like 4 games so i dont count it.
C. Your focus is NOT online. Nintendo is very clear that they want people in the living room and not online.

TBH, mobile/console web browsers are behind because they simply have not been around long enough and the use base isn't large enough to demand change(why waste money on making it AWESOME when your base is far lower compared to PC base). When mobile/console web browsers are used at a higher rate(thus means higher use base) things will get better because people will demand it.

also, when was the last time your youtube app was ever updated? lol yea exactly and thats why tons of vids dont show up when u search. the app has bugs and is mega outdated.
