Houston Thread - No HOBOs and no WHOBOs. What do we do now??????????????????????????????????????????

What side event should i include in my tournaments?

Guys, the Gamestop we've been having Battle Networks at is closing down because they weren't doing well enough to stay open. So, I'm losing my job and probably a lot of the employees are too (all the Gamestops in Houston aren't really looking for new employees). The final day of business at Gamestop is Feb. 12th and Ginger and the rest of the employees want me to run a final Battle Network there that day.

I know that HOBO is the 11th but I was hoping I could get some more attendees. This time they will let us have a pot and do MMs and all that jazz so it'll be a legit. Please give me your opinions on this Houston! I hope you guys can make it out! Once again, I'm sorry it's the day after HOBO but I can't really do anything about that. If you guys come I'd be very happy with you all! I'll make the thread either tonight or tomorrow so be ready for that!

That sucks, but not too surprising. Brick and mortar stores will eventually lose to online stores like Amazon and Ebay.

Seriously? That place was the coolest game shop ever! I never liked any other gamestop. Everyone at that place is legit. I'm surprised they haven't made that much money considering that games like Skyward Sword and Skyrim were released lately.
That's a shame.

and yea i know what ya mean. i didn't ever consider gamestops shutting down. i can see bookstores and librarys etc but not gamestop...

does that mean we're going back to sync sex saloon?

It isn't a well known location due to it being stuck in a corner lot, and Gamestop success is primarily rated through things like subs instead of just "is this store making profit." Gamestop overcrowds itself often and many have shut down in the past couple of years because so many are so close together.

Yeah, I know where I live there are like 5 less than 10 miles from me. Compare that to one Best Buy, one Target, one Toys R Us, and one Walmart. It good to compete against other businesses, but when you start competing against your own stores...that's when you start wasting money.

Btw, anyone have recommendations for phones/plans? I'm a complete dummy when it comes to phones...I already received a few recommendations, but I could always use more.

I don't need unlimited minutes, do want unlimited texting, and a good data plan that doesn't have to be unlimited. Phone-wise, whatever I can get for best value, app-wise I guess.

I definitely want to get a new one by the end of the month because my phone is starting to randomly turn itself off and minutes are about to run out...I'm taking it as a sign.

So....Gnes, Razer and Trela? According the rules they need to team with someone in F tier, and aren't all the Houston regulars in D tier or above(which actually means Illmatic can't team anyone either)?

Just curious if I'm reading it right.

I'm F Tier. Also I wanna go to any upcoming tournys/smashfests in Houston if I can get a ride or something. Leaf if you go to BN can I get a ride? And I'll pay gas money and stuff, and this time I have more than just quarters.
