Wait, you're going to make a special exception to Flip? Wouldn't that undermine the purpose of having a tier list for seeding?

You have to either have to follow through for everyone and give Flip a low seed since he didn't meet the requirements or wait for the next tier list. Anything else is special treatment and defeats the "no bias" part of the tier list for seeding (sorry Flip, still gotta earn TGC 12 like everyone else).

No no i say earlier people at TGC were seeded based off of previous Houston results because the PR wasnt out yet. Now that the PR is out, i will seed based off of PR 1st and then results 2nd.

See FlipHop? He has results and hes ranked high (83%) but hes not included in the "active players" section because he has only attened 1 event. So when he goes to TGC 2, i will use the ONE event he went to and use it as seeding but only AFTER the Houston PR has been used first and OOC players like Denti or Dabuz or M2k....etc have been seeded. Also, since you are in the "active player" section, you would be seeded before FlipHop would.

Again, the first years worth of PRs mean nothing but we need some sort of scale to use when seeding people. If you need a reference as to what i mean, go to the old H thread and see the Brawl PR. it got EXTREMELY accurate late in the game. Does this make sense?

Flip is basically a RoyR. We know hes top 5 in the city but he isnt "active" enough to get the PR spot. once he places at TGC 2, he will get his spot.

I still can't decide on a main. I feel like I'm not improving because I'm not focusing on any characters. Anyone have any tips for how to arrive on a new main? I can't handle the landing lag on my previous main (Marth)'s aerials.

Edit: Every character I try has some "major" flaw that keeps me from playing them. Ness' recovery is too easily gimped, Mario's recovery is straight trash, Pit has no kill power, Sheik is too popular (hipster Haptic), etc.... Maybe I'm too picky.

The first step is to stop playing this game like it's brawl and learn that it works differently. Your character has a different playstyle (marth especially), and there are new mechanics to get used to. I feel you on not focusing on just one character, but it's only the 3ds so take the time to experiment and just get used to the game, deciding a main can come once you have proper controls to use.

I came from Marth in melee and saw the disgrace that was marth in brawl. I couldn't handle it so I left him in Melee. I moved on to Samus in brawl. When smash 4 came out, I realized they took away everything that made my samus good. So I dropped samus and moved on.

My advice is to leave what's in the past in the past. It's a new game and a new way to play. Pick a new character and learn him/her for what he/she is in SMASH 4. Don't stick with previous mains because you will be disappointed. Restart.
