Heir to the Monado. Shulk General Discussion/Social Thread

Really hoping Shulk is announced tomorrow, if the only valid possibilities are the characters leaked by Gematsu (otherwise I would hope for Ridley ^^). I am curious as to how his gameplay mechanics will work (with the Monado and all). Plus, while I like am fine with the Chorus Kid being in Smash, revealing it tomorrow wouldn't be that exciting. As for Chrom, well, revealing him tomorrow would be the ultimate hype killer. So yeah, give us Shulk!

"Mr. Ninja Frog" is not male, though or at least that was never confirmed.

I wouldn't mind Chrom but to me he's such an obvious character that I'd just want to keep secret until the game comes out. Challenger approaching! Chrom! Oh gee didn't see that one coming. Don't mean to come off as cynical, I just really don't want Chrom tomorrow. Heh.

I still need to finish that game, but I want to finish up my spare Pokemon X as well.

Oh, and I'm going to be pretty indifferent to Shulk's place tier-wise, unless he's somehow Brawl Ganondorf levels of awful (though I seriously doubt he'd be that bad). I'm definitely trying him out, though I don't know if he'll be my first main. From the demo at Best Buy, I might try Greninja out first. I really liked how he played. That, and Mr. Ninja Frog is one of my favorite Pokemon along with Mr. Aura Dog.

Fun fact: Ganondorf is one of my mains in brawl, so even that would not stop me!

Well since we really don't need to have a "Who's going to main Shulk?" thread, I'll just go ahead and ask right here...are you planning to main Shulk? Secondary? Or are you just excited to have him in the game?

As I've stated before, Shulk is going to be my main alongside Ike. Good character or not, I'll make the most out of what I can with all the other Xenobrothers of the Bronado.

There's also something to be said (for myself, personally) about how the game and how a specific character feels. . . That's usually how I decide upon the the first few, if not first day of release.

I can say that my excitement for Shulk being revealed hasn't diminished due to the leak. Even if I believe the leak, there is always still a shred of doubt in the back of my mind. If/when he gets revealed, I'll be so happy. It's like... knowing that everything is safe now for that character. You don't have to have any worries anymore. XD

Shulk already has his basic red-blue-green palette swaps set up with the different variations of his standard attire there are in the game. His alternate costumes could potentially be some of his more armor-like equipment.

Other characters I'd be fine with (but don't desire as much as Shulk) would be Mewtwo, Ridley, Paper Mario, and Ghirahim.

It's amazing how on Friday I was so sure it would be Shulk, but now some doubt is creeping up. Why? You guys have no idea how big Shulk in Smash would mean to me. Xenoblade is one of my all time favorite games and Shulk in Smash seemed like a nice dream. If Shulk gets announced tomorrow it would be, for me, Sonic joining the brawl times ten. But that's the problem. It would be too perfect. I feel like the universe doesn't want to see me that happy and instead reveal a character I personally don't care for. I'm still hoping, but i'm also worried this would be too perfect, so therefore it won't happen. But if it does...get ready.

I'll be bold enough by saying that for the most part, we do have an idea of how big Shulk in Smash would mean to you because a lot of us feel the same way. The fact that it's likely that we really could get Shulk TOMORROW is huge and that's why people are so hype. But, with all that hype, doubt is starting to arise because of how often people end up getting disappointed due to the hype that they, themselves created. In this case, things are piecing together to be Shulk's day, so...we'll see
