I own Xenoblade Chronicles but I haven't touched it because I'm trying to knock off a number of games in my back catalog first. I would suggest doing some homework about the character, but in this case, the homework could spoil the Final Exam (actually playing the game).

I'm here to show my support for Shulk. Despite never playing Xenoblade, I have listened to alot of the OST and want him in so we can get some sweet remixes. That and the game looks like it has good potential for stages, and I like to see new franchises represented over say another Metroid/Pokemon/Starfox,etc character.

I've included Shulk on my rosters for a while now, mostly because of the multifaceted elements to his weapon, and the psychic/time manipulative components to the game which I have not wanted ruined for me, as I've planned on playing Xenoblade for a while.

Man, the hype for Shulk is pretty strong in here! Too bad this will probably be the first character reveal of a character I know nothing of...

It also helps that Shulk is an easier pill to swallow than Chrom or Chorus Men. He was popular beforehand unlike the latter, and not as polarizing or from a series as filled with candidates many would rather have like the former.

Yeah it's definitely a point that has come up a few times in the past.

He's definitely less polarizing compare to other characters in general and usually is pretty acceptable to most people I've seen. Some people do have a meh response to him, but the few detractors I've seen for Shulk mostly seem to seam around his appearance as a typical sword wielding JRPG protagonist. Though Shulk does have some cliche's associated with him, most of the time it seems to simply a reaction to the type of game he's from people who haven't really even looked into the character or are just not interested in the Genre. Which lacks very stable negative points compared to what has come up for other more... debatable characters.
