I think these matches are silly, but they'll do for now. Advice is appreciated. ;)

I've noticed that I use the illusion too much to get back onto the stage and I sit in my shield too often/long when Fox respawns.:(

edit:

And here are two more matches

Or you could just keep shooting from a distance and make him come to you. Puts yourself at less of a risk and forces him to move predictably around projectiles that go across entire maps.

gotta love dat flaco

imo Falcon should only be approached if you're not in the middle of the stage. Too much DD room when he's not cornered, and one slip up -> grab is scary for me.

Hmm. I generally like to approach Falcon. The odds that he slips up on a incorrect option OoS are much greater than Falco slipping up his shield pressure. Falco will generally punish just as hard if not harder than in the case that Falcon slips as well.

This was aside from what I was hoping for as far as discussion goes. I was leaning towards uses for fake lasers in general, not just a response to my scenario.:)

edit: btw I remember PP mentioning using fake lasers I believe. I think he mentioned them in his Marth matchup thingymuhbob.

He means landing before the laser shoots lol

Only time I really use this is if my opponent's really good at power shielding. If they just run up and tap shield against you (since you didn't fire the laser) then it's basically a free hit at close distances xP

Why not just fake a shffled aerial by short hopping around.

I agree with raynex, shl from afar seems more viable. Fakezer doesn't seem like it would be a consistent mindgame.

it works pretty **** good against a counter happy marth fo sho
Exactly! This was the better scenario that I forgot to mention in the first post. Its much more useful than than baiting OoS stuff.

It gets them to tap the shield button (obviously) and they get that recovery from letting go of their shield normally. You get an easy punish. Good Marths will keep their shield up and wavedash OoS though, but anything to put Marth in his shield=good and will give you momentum.

I use this right outside of tipper range and I make sure my gun makes that "click" sound that X1-12 mentioned.

change up your recovery more. you pretty much always side B straight to the stage/ledge.

mix it up with
shine stall
DJ sweetspot
shortened side B
various b-up angles

also, you spot dodge WAY too much. pretty much every time you're under pressure you go to option is spot dodge -> shine. it worked a lot vs this fox cuz he would run up and try to grab or something and you would spotdodge->**** him. but vs othe rplayers, they will wait on the habitual soptdodge and kill you

First of all that last match was boring as ****. You both camped. lol

Alright your falco in general has the tech skill that you need, I noticed quite a few tricks you do that work well, you're edgegarding is decent (you missed quite a few opportunities but that happens) and your combo's are good / you finish them.

The problem i had with these matches is that the fox player was really predictable, not nearly as technical as you and was generally slower. But you were going about even with him. Two things you coulda done to definitely seal the deal here

1) Notice his predictable approach. He literally only approached with grabs or full hop Nairs. Beat the grab with auto cancelled Bair / Utilt. It's seriously broken and limits his approach severely. Laser when you're far, space Bair when he's close. Beating full hop Nairs is just reacting fast enough.

2) Beat his weak *** shield pressure. He never shield pressured you with short hops (he did with full hops!) and you kept on hiding in your shield. I understand that fox's shield pressure can be scary but you gotta adapt to this kind of fox (just full hop Bair before he comes down or WD back -> Fsmash)

3) Improve your shield pressure. I like the shine -> grab but for the most part you'd hit his shield once or twice and he'd jump away or roll away. Space areals between shine and react to what he does OoS.

I thought I had gotten rid of that habit. Maybe I just did it cause it was working. Maybe not. I'll def keep it in mind though.

Thanks for this. I plan on mixing in double shine for shield pressure as well.

Edit: Also you guys should remember that nobody wins in friendlies. They are opportunities to learn not to win. =]

Yeah, it's more of a "Ooh, he missed his laser, I'm gonna grab him now" situation.

Shield pressure =/= you constantly being on their shield. It can be something so simple as ie. Puff jumping around your shield(like Mango). Having said that, the fake laser should be out of the range of all of your opponents OoS options, because of the risk/reward.

Also, discussion has moved on.
