TIMER RULE
Upon the start of a match, a timer outside of the game such as a stopwatch or a phone timer will begin with a time limit of 8 minutes. When the timer runs out, whoever has the most stocks wins. If stocks are even, whoever has the least amount of damage wins.
why not just use in game timer and quit out once 5 stocks are gone? You would just keep track of stock count after each death

Too much work to keep track of stocks. Easier to just use a phone or stopwatch. Theres a timer thread where all this was debated. Its not hard to implement an outside timer at all.

One solution is to stop having tournaments. Just have a room with a bunch of setups and have a venue fee if a venue is needed. If you want money, set up money matches. If there are enough setups, you won't have that feeling of having to wait for your next opponent, the guy who is having a 60-minute match. The focus should shift from making sure a strict "tournament" ends in a reasonable amount of time to playing the game freely, as you wish (sector z is banned if you play me lol). Break free from the need for having a tournament placing suggest your skill level or help you feel better about yourself.

Im absolutely ok with that, but that wasnt in the rules. I guess that's Karajans fault lmao

Dude, from 1-10, how salty are the peruvians? South American's aren't like Americans. They don't hide their salt in person
To talk like that, you (and others here) probably know lots of south americans (online and in person), i guess.
Not to mention i'm reading some comments based in the "fact" that the whole continent thinks the same way, even tho the countrys in south america don't have almost any interaction with each other (in smash) .. oh well.. cant argue with provincialism anyways.

ps:i was always against banning hirule, but i changed my mind after seeing what the lack of fair play can do. still dont like dl being the only legal stage tho

Dude, I don't have anything against South Americans just cuz I can, tho I can't speak for Brazilians (I don't speak portugese and Banze seems nice), but have you seen the comment section of ANY video on youtube with south americans in play? All they do is trash talk each other and claim that they're better than the rest.

Like I said before, some dude on Isai's stream came out of nowhere and said that Chileans mid level players are better than Tacna's best. I just point it out as a joke. Don't really care either way, but you can't tell me it's not true.
Everybody is ridiculously competitive and almost always don't have anything to back them up.

South americans are americans too...

By the way, that when you said "Like I said before, some dude on Isai's stream came out of nowhere and said that Chileans mid level players are better than Tacna's best." that's because chileans and peruvians don't like each other. There's some kind of rilvary.

That was one example... I think you guys are taking this waaayy too seriously. Go to videos where only tacna players are in attendance, then the players from Lima, then the chilean players, then some isai videos on youtube. They're everywhere in the comment sections and its funny lol

If you feel like I'm generalizing, well of course I am. What's the fun in being politically correct? Of course not everybody is like that

in a better future, people will be free to generalize without having to append it with some obvious paradiastole

"americunts are fat and dumb ---- obviously I don't mean every single american in the face of the earth guys. is it even possible to meet every american? by american i mean the united stadians guys, dont get offended non US-people, I love you"

the other day i saw a youtube vlog, and the guy must've had taken his comment section feedback too seriously cuz was stopping each 2 min to explain to future dumb youtube comments that when he said that he didn't mean this. and when he said he liked yellow, he didn't mean yellow was the best color evur and that who likes blue is inferior

we need to shut down comment sections and twitch chats because they're detrimental

on topic: when's vids

i literally have never disagreed with a post more in my life lol

i know i'm in the minority on this one, but i believe tournament matches >>>>>>>>>>> friendlies

don't get me wrong, i ****ing love friendlies

i love everything about this game

(cept falcon, **** him)

but there's something special about tournament play

in a tournament setting, i have one goal

to win

when someone challenges my goal, that is the true meaning of enjoyment

my single favorite thing about super smash bros is being pushed to my limit

even if it's only for one set of a tournament

even if it's only for one GAME

when two people are trying their absolute hardest to beat each other

when they're desperately trying to figure out their opponent

when they're desperately trying to figure out themself

all of their training finally gets put to the test and for a split moment they're in an equal state of competition

that's beauty

it's a shame, but i believe that the above circumstance can't be recreated in friendlies

it doesn't matter how hard you play, nothing's on the line

nothing is pushing you

so regardless of how much i love to play friendlies, tournament matches will always be where my heart lies <3

also, i'm kind of obsessed with the idea of being the greatest player of all time LOL i love competition

I'd shoot myself in the head before I'd ever be involved in a 10+ minute match.

I don't get how some of you patient ****s do it.

I can help him get back. If its not too much I'll make it as a donation, but if he needs a lot I'd really like to recoup some of it back in the future.

if he was a US citizen stuck in virginia and needed to get back to nebraska or something he could probably get there with some decent effort plus a couple of hand jobs WORST CASENARIO. This dude is stuck a few countries away from Mexico tho
