I don't think making a ranbat series would make the community more competitive (besides the top 10 excluding some) at all.

ranbat may be a cool idea but it's not worth it, it really isn't
gsub is poor

I think the ranbat idea is a GREAT idea, however the smash community cannot support it for various reasons (being poor is NOT one of them, believe it or not). The reasons are:
- low pool of competitors in the first place, which leads to
- individual power/control over TO decisions, in which case we never get anything accomplished, because people will always act selfishly

In one case, it sounds like McCain is accusing Stab of being frugal, and in the other, it sounds like he's accusing Stab of being a lousy male prostitute. I'm not sure which claim McCain is making, either.

btw, ranbats are a great idea in more localized fighting game communities, but socal at large already has a good ranking system (the PR). it would make more sense to do ranbats in like a given CITY for example, not on a region-scale tournament, cuz the PR already covers that
I also really like the WORD "ranbat." i love japanese abbreviations lol, like one of the big japanese melee websites now is called SMACOM (SMAsh COMmunity) which reminds me of the SOCOM gun that you get in metal gear solid. it sounds so ******!

I think ranbats works really well at smaller more frequent smashfests,
as well as at larger, less frequent tournaments.
I think Grev's aren't big enough to warrant this (amount of people)
and aren't frequent enough either.
Just doesn't work well here.

idk man, theres still debate as to how to beat the game most efficiently
and unlike clefairy, you gotta have mashing tolerance
