Link to original post: [drupal=2203]Where did Billy Hatcher go?[/drupal]

Yesterday I was looking in my bedroom for yu-gi-oh cards and I noticed this one game box. It was Billy Hatcher.
I remembered all the fun memories I had with this game, all of those eggs that I hatched and then I thought:
"WHY DID THIS GAME DO SO BAD/NOT GET A SEQUAL?"
I mean seriously this game was one of my favorite games ever, I loved this game. There was something for everyone in this game. WHy didn't it get a sequal?
*sigh* If you know any games that are amazing that didn't do good (Earthbound Kirby Air Ride ect.)like this, Please share your experiances

Oh and no I don't want this in Light House, it's kinda like everyones blog to share their unknown awesome game experiances.

I've always believed Mischief Makers deserves way more love.
One of my favourite games of all time, and also the provider of my SWF username.

Yeah, now you know. No, it wasn't Starcraft because that's with two 'r's remember?

It was on the Gamecube. At the time, hating on the Gamecube and any game on it seemed to be the "cool" thing to do. =X It probably wasn't very well recieved because...it was just really weird. It wasn't advertised much, and the advertisement it did have was really really really bad. Most people don't want to play a game where you attack people with chicken eggs.

Never played Starcraft, I play Diablo2 on the comp.
I forgot the names, but there was a Teran in Billy Hatcher?

I liked attacking people with chicken eggs.
Expecialy the ground-pound one.
Yes the eggs break too much and you will die of falling more of losing life, and the last level was futile but it was unique!

We'll be constructing additional pylons anyway, Teranigma.

Anyway, I do agree that Billy Hatcher was an amazzzzing game. I actually went through all the trouble of beating it 100%.

:c Cooooook-a-doodle-do.

My favorite "awesome game that never got a sequel" is Mischief Makers for the N64. Kinda short but great characters and probably one of the more challenging games for the N64. Other games that I think deserve true sequels are Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, Rocket Knight Adventures (the sequel was crap in comparison), Mole Mania, Drill Dozer, Kid Icarus, and Gunstar Heros.

Add in: *high fives Teran*

Never played it to be honest, but Teran was a prominent character in Mischief Makers.
He's an awesome fighting alien and he wears a baseball cap.

It's great when you get to play as him in 2 stages of the game, definitely one of the coolest parts imo.

Edit: *high fives FMOI*

My favorite thing about Mischief Makers was the boss fights. Aside from the Megaman X games, it was probably the first game I played where I could describe the boss fights as "epic." When I say epic, I mean like Gunstar Heros epic. *drolls remembering the Seven Machine fight* CERBERUS ALPHA!!! Okay, you're fighting a giant mechanical jackal that shoots giant lazers and missles all while riding a tiny robotic cat... awesome...

I just thought of another game:
Gemini.
Who doesn't want to get a machine gun and shoot the heck out of ants?
No not alians. Not Zombies.
Ants.
It was the perfect game for kids that are afraid of zombies or alians and they made a voilent, slightly gore-y shooter game.

Gemini? As in Jet Force Gemini? I never played it for whatever reason. I didn't hear that many great things about it so I didn't even bother and, besides, Donkey Kong 64 definately grabbed my attention more at the time.

OMG!

Not to mention Phoenix Gamma. Merco was such epic win. An anthropomorphic phoenix with a shield and lance! Not to mention arrogant.

"The ladies call me 'Dr Smooth Love'."

I got all the gold gems too, and the full ending was so nice. ;-;

My parents sold my N64 because I was playing Mischief Makers while I was grounded in 4th grade. It was worth it.

It's multiplayer was terrible, but story mode is better than Halo's (Seriously).
Donkey Kong got confusing after a while, one time I couldn't even find the way out of the starting place

It was just a fun game altogether. I still find hilarious that you could throw most of the bosses and how some of the bosses would cry if you held and shook them. "Shake shake!" Marina will always be my favorite video game heroine.

I think this is being threadjacked into a Mischief Maker's love orgy, but it definitely needs some time in the spotlight. :3

They also have a sense of humour. In Mischief Makers, you may not notice this but there's a joke credits sequence that occurs in the "Ending" level. It's a joke because it's all intentionally in Engrish.

If you actually watch the real credits, you'll find that it's all correct. XD
Such genius.

Okay... now I really want to go back and play that game. I'm definately not going the route of roms though because I can't even imagine how freakishly hard that game would be on a computer. x_x'

Jet force Gemini was one of my favorite games on the N64. Its a shame that Rare got sold off to Microsoft. Thanks to the FPS driving force of this generation, JFG will turn into a FPS, or with any luck, a 3rd person shooter like Gears of War.

The only thing that was bothersome about JFG was its camera. You had to be in constant aiming mode to work it out.

This blog needs more Skies of Arcadia.
That's another game I've been meaning to play. This is my current list of games that I have in my possesion that I mean to beat (but can't except for Advance Wars and FE:SS because my laptop and Wii got fried in a electrical storm):

1. Secret of Mana
2. Star Tropics
3. Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
4. Advance Wars
5. Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages
6. Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons
7. Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
8. Fire Emblem: the Sacred Stones

Darkslash I think as a JFG player you should know that we never talk about that camara.
Thats like talking about school in summer. Shh.
But yeah, there are lots of games I can think of that don't get the attention that they need. Dungeon Siege (Altho I never really was a fan of it), Sacred, Pikmin a little-ish, KIRBY AIR RIDE, Age of Empires, Star Fox (I don't like it but it still is underrated), KIRBY AIR RIDE, JFG, KIRBY AIR RIDE, Earthbound, The World Ends With You, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, KIRBY AIR RIDE, .......The good old 2-D Megaman network games yeah there are a bunch.
Oh I almost forgot Kirby air ride. And I don't care how much you say that game is popular enough DIABLO is THE BEST game I have EVER played. I like that game more than Brawl to be honest.

The World Ends With You is an amazing game if only for the incredible message that the game has in how the world is limited by your own perspective but becomes greatly enhanced when you connect with other people. I played the game shortly after coming out of a 12 year on and off depression earlier this year and was questioning why I should even bother becoming social despite the fact that I no longer felt inferior/evil. If anything, I couldn't have played the game at a more perfect time.

That game was incredable and it will change you no matter how happy/sad you are.
The problem is that game set up it's death, the ending made everything clear and there was no need for a sequal, because the game was already over and Joshua already decided not to get rid of Shibuya.
DONT read that if you havent played this game yet, please go buy this game and get amazafied.

Yeah, they already said that the World Ends With You will probably never have a sequel but I can guarentee that it'll be one of those games 3-4 years from now where a lot of people will be talking about how there really ought to be one.

But you forget, that Joshua mentions that there are several different games taking place in several different areas. It's entirely possible for a storyline about an entirely new player to take place (I would personally love to see one take place in L.A., if only for seeing SE's take on Disneyland).

Also, Mischief Makers is amazing. One of the best games I've ever played.

*reads*
OH DA- ARGH I didn't get that far >.>
I second L.A. XD
I still don't think it's going to happen, it would be hard to adjust to another person anyway.
I never played Mischief Makers, it sounds good with all these people lol :chuckle::colorful:

If there was another TWEWY, I'd want them to do London. Despite being from St. Louis, it's the city I've come to know the best thanks to my travels.

Oh and about Eathbound, it did have a sequel, Mother 3 (AKA; where Lucas is from). There's no buyable English version, granted, but there's always ROMs. (Don't ask me for links because I can't give them.)

Yes but that was in Japan, so it kinda is the same thing.

Kirby Air Ride was win and so was Pokemon Stadium, but the Pokemon Stadium "RPG" remakes were REALLYREALLYREALLYREALLLYREALLY BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD!

Kirby Air Ride DEFINITELY needs a Wii sequel! With a City Trial that has a ton more events, a bigger maximum capacity for power-ups, more racing stages, maybe 3-4 new air ride machines... Ah yes, the game I still play with my friends and family... So awesome. :o

I think Sonic should have a GOOD sequel where it's just supersonic speeds and reaction time, along with the ability to use his friends (like Tails (no robot) and Knuckles), AND it HAS to have another, more advanced Chao Garden. It's sorta embarrassing, but I still am taking care of chao's, trying to get them all rank S then evolve into Chaos chao, heheheh....

Big Sky Trooper, for the SNES... It's probably the one game that got me to study astrophysics. So many planets, the being able to enter black holes, flying around on a spaceship... If this game would ever have a sequel or be recognized like Pit's or Ice Climbers' games randomly did, imagine... Lots of planets, different races, the newer graphics showing the awesomely awesome black holes not letting light escape... Oh yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

YES!!!

Thank you for mentioning Jet Force Gemini! I still have that game on my old N64 and I still play it to this day.

It was like the Gears of War of its time.

Except with more emphasis on item collecting, because it's a Rare game. Pretty much all Rare games focus a lot on a ****load of item collecting lmao.

Vela is easily my favorite heroine next to Samus.
