A lot of the focus earlier was scattered with focus being between Kantrip and WL. With Kev posts, his point was distracting and miller crumb/claim was out of nowhere and attracted all focus. Boat and Swiss have gotten after KevinM for something legit, which is rarely possible this early in D1 (you could argue my wagon is a good wagon too, if you believe people have good reasoning for me being scum).

Basically I agree with pressuring him for the Miller crumb/his reaction to being called out on it. It was actually pretty bad, and there's no town intent to HIDING a miller claim. The scum intent is you have it there in case you get investigated. It's a pretty scummy thing to crumb

Gheb is overdoing it, everyone else is wrong but it's understandable. People are perfectly justified for seeing my pre-game shenanigans as scummy. I have no way to prove to them that my intentions are what I say they are, so I'm trying to focus on other things, like voting for Kevscum.

Crumbing it lets you waste a cop investigation still and stands to benefit only yourself. You only ever point it out in the event of a cop claim against you while keeping the option of never claiming it on the board.

Wasn't scum this time so wanted to do it cooler.

But I've never been good at crumbing, so I mean I just capitalized things... it was that or post some pictures of bread.

It was mostly that post in tandem with the fact that you didn't succumb to pressure in the slightest and never really sounded that whiny or defensive. I think the worst thing you did was the OMGUS vote on Gheb. Did you ever explain why you went that direction?

Legitimate question here, I don't really know the scum intent of an OMGUS. Why is it a scumtell, assuming they actually have legit reasoning?

I voted IR because I didn't like Gheb's expansive case-like post on why I'm scum. That was the most substantial thing I had to go off of, being RVS, and with I think Ryker voting the slot before me I thought it would be beneficial to build a wagon up.

Now, however, the KevinM wagon is a far better wagon to build up.

First of all I think the bolded is a strawman. He didn't hide a claim. He didn't claim at all until his CRUMB was called out. Regardless of whether or not you believe his CRUMBING the miller claim was justified, you can't say he tried to HIDE a CLAIM. Those are fundamentally different things.

Secondly, I can def see town intent for crumbing miller. If you crumb it early, it means that you had the thought about the plausible scenarios in which having a crumb to back up your claim in the future would be helpful. It's survivalist, yes, but wanting to survive and not get lynched because of a guilty on you can be both a town AND a mafia trait.

I'm not trying to say that his crumb was some move of ultimate towniness, but just because it doesn't necessarily have boatloads of protown value as a personal move of his, doesn't make it a scummy move. I personally see it as pretty null. Idc much that kev is claiming miller and I'll be just as scrutinous of his play regardless. Maybe I'm alone in that though. I think focusing on a WIFOM scenario like this is just overcentralizing and not helpful scum hunting anyway.

Maybe I'm just bad at reading reactions or something but I just don't see how this push based on the crumb alone is going to get us anywhere constructive. =/

Good ole mediocore WL, didn't we have this conversation like 50 times before? I seem to remember one of them being for the exact same player for this behavior. When are you gonna learn that mafia isn't scumhunting by the numbers?

You don't need to make a dumb or scum case for weak players the vast majority of the time because their weakness is exactly what makes them very readable. A weak town player makes different mistakes then a weak scum player, though the mistakes of a weak town player might be the same as the mistakes of a mediocore or strong scum player, if you know the player's relative skill it's usually a breeze. That's what makes weak players weak, they're easily readable.

Nah, see, I disagree with this. It's lazy and not giving every player the time of day to read them fully, especially given that at the time Kantplay had done nothing to warrant a townread at the time.

How? Why? What does he gain as town from just crumbing it instead of full-claiming it? It only causes more headaches for the cop (and it's Kevin, he's probably gotta be high on the "always investigate" list) and town will trust a miller claim inherently less the later the game goes on. It's a gamble and a really bad one at that.
