Who is Ice?
Ice is a very good Marth/Sheik player from Germany. As far as European Melee goes, he is right up there with Armada and Amsah, placing 3rd place at BEAST. His Marth is very unique and interesting in my opinion.

It would be fair if people donated since Ice definitely deserved a good player fund =)

Ice really can't afford this himself anymore. As a community it's nice to help out those who cant like it's been done in the past with Armada, Aniolas and Amsah, maybe its time to show a new European face (he did come 3rd at Beast).

So the donated money will go towards his flight, for some odd reason whatever goes haywire I'll refund everyone to donated

I realy care

the thing was that i planed to afford the whole trip alone like 7 months ago
but thene i needed to pay a lot of money to diferent things so i realised that the dream with genesis came to an end and i akcept it

but now where it seems that their is still hope , the fire is returning

and its ok if people dont want to pay for me cause they think i suck or dont deserve it or their are better players to fund or whatever

but at least giving the whole thing a try cant be wrong :)
And he's being really honest about it, this is how it is.. if you want to help please do but don't go bashing about it
Ice is a really great guy so it´s really fun to talk/play with him for sure =).

He also has the motivation to be the best in a impressive way. I really wanna see Ice compete against the best players in USA cause he´s a good friend and he has a really fun style to watch (and he plays Marth/Sheik)

unfortunately I can´t donate any money (Pound 5) but I really hope you can make it man =)

If you'd like to see some videos, here you go!

I needed to change my pants after those vids, where can I donate?

PLEASE donate to help Ice get to this! He's a very good Marth/Sheik from Germany who has yet to make his debut here in America and Genesis 2 would be an excellent tournament to do so at. You'd be guaranteed to get some great Marth videos. If you're willing to help, follow this link:

I hear he's called the european m2k. I so wish Javi, Tuga(Twins are mad lazy about getting that Visa), Dark and Calle W could go as well(maybe Apex 2)...making what is an already stacked house of International talent even more stacked.

Is this the only thread for this so far? You should probably repost this in a more popular forum if you haven't already.

But yeah, I'll donate. I'd love to see him compete. And I'm not even going to genesis 2.

Search for Ice vs Hack on Youtube (he ends up beating him with Fox though).
To be fair, Hack is a f***ing beast and there is no shame in losing to a Kirby that good, especially since Kirby's almost never used competitively. Very few players have any tournament experience against Kirby at all.

Oh

Ice goes in during a crew battle against USA

USA counters with Axe's Pika or Taj's M2

Ice is not very effective

I don't know, guess he would go Sheik in NTSC against Pika and Mew2.

Anyway, Hack is good but I don't think Ice played that good in that set. He never punished Hack's rolls, and I really don't get why.. pressure..? I'll ask him xD

Well, now that I think about it, I suppose Sheik's Dthrow and Fox's general imbaness kinda outweigh the spike Marth gets.

She still has a pretty decent tech chase out of grabs.

The MU's still kind of annoying, although it's probably like heaven compared to NTSC.

The only thing I really miss about marths NTSC Dair is the Dair from edgegogs. I often don't know what I could replace that with... :( (too much influence from watching NTSC videos i guess :p)

Spiking with Dair is so satisfying in general though so I do love playing NTSC :D

Sometimes I finish my combos with Dair just because it looks and feels awesome.

Then my opponent meteor cancels and I die a bit inside.

^I do too, lol. But it just isn't the same as when you actually Dair in NTSC. It's like ganons Fair in NTSC. So satisfying :D

(at times it is also fine in PAL even if you don't kill as you can still keep the edgeguard going... Sometimes... :p)

I usually do it anyway, most of the time it's flashy and the opponent does not meteor-cancel, and even if he does, it gets him in a bad position, ready to be edgeguarded again.

I wish i could play pal, i'm curious to see how i would do vs sheik personally.
I played against some Sheik players at RoM3, and I personally didn't find the match-up that worse in NTSC. You have to avoid getting grabbed in all versions, and they know what to do in both of them, so the follow-ups change, but not the outcomes.

Also, having a spike did give me a psychological boost. TheLake knows.

personally, knowing they don't get guaranteed fair if i get grabbed allows me to stress less about being grabbed. which opens more room for me to breathe mentally

Not only the fair but the up smash KO trap near the edge, and no platform tech chases is enormous. Plus I don't think if you have full room to tech away from sheik that she can follow up in time, and if she can, she has to guess. Oh, and dthrow to up air KOs. Those are honestly worse than dthrow fairs.

seriously, sheik loses nearly all of her easy street **** and actually has to work for a win. Sounds free to me.

Even if dthrow was the same in PAL dthrow Uair KOs wouldn't really exist because Uair is so weak in PAL and is more used as yet another combo into Fair :bee:

I actually felt more comfortable in NTSC 'cause Sheik players over there tend to play way more grab-happy, so they get predictable.. A PAL Sheik player is way more scary in my mind..

Oh dip, I didn't even realize her up air was weaker in PAL.

Honestly tho I would never give up NTSC dair just for some easier matchups. :D

Similarly, I could accept some tougher matchups if it gave me NTSC Dair :C

Ok, probably not, but I'd REALLY like to have NTSC Dair.

Compared to Fox & Sheik's changes, Falco got off easy lol

Yep, that's what I often say, but Falco players tend to be really whiny about their Dair.

Anyway I'd say perfect version of the game IMO would be:

- Sheik: PAL D-Throw, NTSC Uair.
- NTSC Link
- NTSC Ganon
- NTSC Marth
- Fox: NTSC Up-B, PAL U-Smash
- PAL Falco
- NTSC Samus
- NTSC Falcon (Gentleman would take a bit of tech skill lol)

The others I think are almost the same, correct me if I'm wrong.
