I am leaving because I want to move on and focus on studying for my future career. I have an idea in mind that I feel is worth pursuing more than anything else I am currently doing in life. I get the strong feeling that Smash speculation will distract me from pursuing my dream, so that is why I decided to leave.

I think tomorrow is going to be a good day. Ignoring rumors and what not, Nintendo doing Mario, Splatoon, and Pokemon news early is definitely a good sign and even if they spin their wheels on one game like they always do, I don't think people will mind as much this year given the potential spread of what that game could be this year. I think it's going to be decently satisfying for most Nintendo fans if things line up as they're currently being implied to.

One thing I am a bit confused by though, some people are thinking that Polar is lying about the whole Nintendo C&D thing and I don't see how that could be the case, considering the amount of back up conformation they have gotten regarding the situation and I never really saw them as that sort of person.

It's sad that the state of the Geno is so bad that we're looking at obviously fake leaks as we scramble for a shred of hope.

Idk I still have a feeling that Geno makes a return debut as some kind of playable character. He is a spirit, but that could all be by design.

I’ve always seen him as an addition to the Fighter packs tho which means he’d be bundled.

Then you have the case of Erdrick.

Erdrick apparently has been known since December. If he is skipped over again at E3, my assumption is that the content associated with him may be a bit more meatier than previous additions.

I’d rather see Sora personally, but bundling Erdrick with Geno makes more sense since the latter combination would probably benefit from more sales than if Erdrick was sold alone.

Wouldn’t expect Erdrick at E3 tho.

You definitely know there aren't any solid leaks when all of the gaming journalist websites are spamming fake news and clickbait. "The next Smash bros DLC character may have already been leaked!!! (see our list of possibles)"

Before I leave Smashboards, I just want to say thank you to all of the Geno supporters who were around to discuss the character's chances in-depth during Smash 4 DLC and Ultimate base game speculation.

@EricTheGamerman , kiteinthesky , PsychoIncarnate , and Fatmanonice gave me hope back then that Geno had a strong chance. It was a great time hanging out with you guys over the years.

Although my hope for Geno in Smash is bare now and my want for Geno has waned completely, I do hope Square Enix starts a new SMRPG sequel when their relationship with Nintendo grows stronger as ports of Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest games keep going.

Don't know about the Avengers thing, but FF7 is definitely remaining episodic, especially with an actual announce release date being out there now with no sign of anything past Midgar.

I love both of the FFVII girls, and while Aerith shall always be my favorite, Tifa is also very dear to me.
And I like her physical attributes. It is part of her iconic look. Sad that people think this will be reason for the media to fuss and ask SE to tone it down like what happened to FFXV (although thankfully SE didn't care and kept XV intact).

Since I'm not a fan of most of SE's titles, it just made me feel way more depressed than when I went in... because it was actually really good. The love they're giving their franchises is incredible right now. Along with that, there's Collection of Mana that's still on the horizon, which mainly leaves out CT (for obvious reasons) and... well, SMRPG.

I can't help but be super envious and ridiculously sad. I hope Banjo comes tomorrow to brighten my spirits, because they're in the dumps right now.

It's coming out on Switch too and they didn't even bother mentioning it. You'd think if they were going to announce their series' mascot for Smash tomorrow they'd make an effort to point out that a new DQ game is coming out on Switch in a month

don't worry about it. Take in account the fact that most of that time had Square and Nintendo on very stressful terms, even when they began working on smaller things. This new great Nintendo and Square relationship is very recent and things need time. Let's see how thing play out.

Also, same on Tifa, but I do have some connections that made me pay attention to what happened.

Being honest, I liked a lot of what I saw.
I loved FFVII Remake, FFVIII Remaster, Oninaki and DQXI S.
But I'll say, I'm a bit disappointed with certain things from SE. They aren't giving enough info on announcements. We still don't know what the KHIII DLC will contain, the Tifa nerfs made me honestly quite unhappy and disappointed, two freaking discs to just cover Midgar......... No words on ports.
SE really pulls some **** sometimes that it's just baffling

Good to hear. Not the biggest Square fan in the world, so it's nice to hear what others think. I really liked it even despite that. Loved what they showed for FFVII, both in gameplay and how things are being designed in general(Tifa opinion: She looks great! Some people are apparently mad, but compared to what some people were dreading in her absence, the the one design change is barely an issue in my eyes). Glad to see people so excited over FF8, though I have little clue about it.

Glad that we will be going into the Direct tomorrow after just having this one. I don't really care too much about who is the "best show", just that things are generally good for most parties. And with very little Nintendo leaks, we will be going in surprisingly blind(Unless some leaker decides to post spoilers at stinking midnight). I look forward to whatever Nintendo have in store.

One of my biggest surprises so far is actually Tales of Arises. I lost interest in the Tales series (that and the series kinda went Sony exclusive which didn't help) after Vesperia and after ToS2, which I thought was really lame.

but man it really looks like they're bringing things up a notch with the next one; I was impressed by the graphics/visuals being displayed. Depending on how it turns out it might be the first tales game I play in a long while.

Hey all, I just wanted to pop in and send some well wishes and good vibes heading into tomorrow. I’ve been trying to catch up as much as possible. Fingers crossed for Banjo, that would be quite the surprise and an inclusion that’s been long overdue.

When it comes to Geno, I’ll be honest... I’m actually more optimistic overall than I’ve been in a while. If Banjo turns out to be true, it shows that longstanding (third party) fan favorites can still make it as DLC, and of the remaining Brawl requests, Geno’s first in line. That’s enough to keep me hopin’. We’re also, for better or worse, in the age of remakes and reboots. The Mario RPG series has been in a bit of a slump lately. So, even if Geno just misses the cut for Smash Ultimate, the avenue is absolutely open for SMRPG’s return.
