It's King Boo, obviously. The second biggest villain in the Mario series, who just had his first game remade this year and will get a new one next year. And who you somehow forgot to put in your signature despite having several less notable and less significant characters than him.
Sorry but King Boo doesn't stand a chance compared to 100 other characters.

Like I said, why don't you whine somewhere else.

Geno is a one-off side character from a 22 year old game. He is a non-entity in the story of SMRPG past his brief introduction and he has no discernible personality. I'm going to go ****ing ballistic if you bandwagoners meme him into the roster when there is a much more deserving and distinguished Mario character out there.
:ultkrool:

Makes relevancy moot.

Well, with the information Polar ended up sharing in the Square Enix thread, I think my last bit of hope for Geno to be playable in Ultimate via this DLC wave is entirely gone now. He would be even more likely as a second rep, though, if Square were to get another one... and where I'm going with this is:

Fight for a wave 2. Tell Nintendo about how much you love Geno. Make a letter. We need to make something massive and heartfelt. I've been rather busy lately, so if someone can craft one, that'd be amazing, and I'd be willing to at least help out with it. Let me know if you want to so we can iron out details.

I think wave 1 is a lost battle. Wave 2, however, is our next.

Mind explaining how? Polar's opinions ≠ insider info.

It's more than Polar's opinions, as they've gotten insider info from a reputable Atlus source that points more towards the Erdrick leak being real.

It... ahaha... It really stings a lot. Apart from the impossible Banjo, Geno was the one I was really pulling for, the only DLC I thought would ever make me hype for this cycle. I'm happy for the DQ fans, but I can't say I'm not brutally heartbroken.

An Atlus source knowing the Square character?

Yeah I'm not 100% trusting this. Nothing's set in stone until we see it.

No the Atlus source pretty much confirmed the Atlus information on the leak (which was what people thought made it legit in the first place cuz of the Granblue thing)

And thus it’s points in legitimizing the rest of the leak involving the Square rep

...So are we supposed to just give up? That doesn't seem realistic to me.

Exactly. It's a very painful pill to swallow, but... we have to be realistic about this, guys.

I've written a short letter via Twitter to NoA (in private) in hopes that they will see it. I recommend you all do the same, and if we can all come up with a larger campaign of sorts, that would hopefully keep this going.

Not to sound rude; but don't you think you're jumping the gun just slightly?
Not rude at all, you're good. That being said, though, maybe I'm just in a very pessimistic mood today (it's been a rough one), but it just looks pretty bad.

With that said, though, I don't recommend giving up. Treat this as moving a goalpost. Talk to Nintendo about how, if Geno isn't in this fighter's pass, to consider him for a second wave. If not, consider reviving him outside of Smash, because that is ultimately what we all want.

Like I've said before, even if we lose the battle, we haven't lost the war.

I'd just say then to not stop watching Banjo..... with the empasis on music, I don't think Minecraft could bring much fight worthy tunes to Smash like Banjo could. Plus the activity from former rare employees is eyebrow raising. If not Smash; I think a remaster is on the way at the very least.

Still don't think anyone really knows the DLC characters; so far it seems Nintendo has done a good job of keeping some of the bigger announcements a secret. Joker was a welcome surprise, and I'm sure there are more on the way (I'm hopeful of it anyway).

Plus we're talking about stuff that is happening behind the scenes, which nobody truly knows about. Just like we can't act like Geno is absolutely guaranteed, in like manner we shouldn't act as though he were completely out of the question; we just don't know.

Kay so I went and read what Polar said. He said he was 99% sure on the ATLUS stuff being correct.

That's it. The rest is still up in the air.

So I'm not sure why everyone's jumping the gun on a text leak. Could it be Erdick? Sure. Is he a lock? No.

I mean, when I am told that no one knows the DLC, how am I supposed to take someone seriously when they act like they know the DLC characters?

There was one instance where a french "leaker" predicted that Ridley, Simon, K Rool, and one other character (can't remember which) were joining the base roster, and they all joined. LaxChris made a video on another one of this guy's predictions. None of the characters aside from Ken in the leak joined the base roster. This is why I am not trusting anyone based on a previous correct prediction they made when no one knows the DLC.

Another instance - a "leaker" predicted that FF XV pocket edition was coming to the Switch. This was correct. Then, they "leaked" that Incineroar and Isaac were going to be playable in the base roster. He even said what their trailers would be, and he got it incorrect, even for Incineroar.

No offense, but it's kind of silly to give up on a character just because according to some "leaker" who predicted something correct in the past, that character isn't going to be playable, or another character gets in instead, ESPECIALLY when no one knows the DLC

I highly reccomend not giving leakers too much credit or attention. Thats the reason all these theories keep popping up. Best to save your anxiety and stress and just wait on directs, as painful as that will be for most of us, getting our hopes up once shot us all in the foot, hard. But being a negative nancy doesn't help either. Just chill and hope for the best.

Why are people acting like we know who the DLC is when PolarPanda just told us nobody knows who the DLC is? Even if he came out and said Geno was in, I wouldn't get my hopes up. Remember The Game Awards. Remember Joker.
At this point, I'm just kicking back and waiting for something official to come out regarding Smash. Smash is fun, whereas speculating on nothing but "leaks" and insider talk really isn't.

I never tried to say who the DLC is. Do not twist my words. I didn't claim to know that. No offense to you.

I think he is just setting up a "what if" situation.
The sentence after it where he said "Even if..." sounds hypothetical, but this opening sentence didn't: "Why is the person who told us nobody knows who the DLC is trying to tell us who the DLC is?" I was clarifying that I am not trying to say who is DLC. What I DID say is that Atlus sources are saying the ATLUS part of the 5chan leak is legit, particularly P5R being Switch exclusive. However, I did specify they couldn't confirm the Smash info obviously.

I DID say that it makes Erdrick look a bit more likely when more and more of the leak is turning out to be true, but I want it to be known that it could definitely be fake info thrown in. Can't confirm the Smash stuff.

Where can I see the post polar panda wrote??

I'm sorry. That was wrong of me to say. I misinterpreted your words and acted overly aggressive and I apologize.
I guess it's the reaction that people have been having that's been bothering me more than what it is you said. We should know by now not to take leaks as reality; this could easily turn out to be Dante Leak 2.

No one’s saying give up, but that’s current information as it is.

What we not gonna do is attack my mans Polar tho. Just because things look unlikely for Geno doesn’t mean attacking someone who has been completely and 100% on our side. No offense man. And not tryna Attack you either!

Wait I have a random thought. We know that square likes to give out leak bait. Isn't this info what leak bait is all about. We would've heard people being fired by now atleast from leaders like vergeben if this were true. I don't know but I think this is the leak bait that square has been throwing out.

It could either be leak bait or someone just guessing. Hard to say though, since no one knows the DLC

If we get a Square Enix rep that is not Geno and his Mii Costume returns, it's going to be the biggest outcry of fans in Smash history. It hurt the first time, and I think I can speak for all the other Geno fans out there that nobody is willing to take a Mii Costume again. Smash Ultimate may be his last chance at being playable in a Smash Bros. game, let alone other titles.

Well, hey, I’ve been lurking in this support thread for months now, reading 100+ pages of why one of my most wanted fighters still has an excellent chance at DLC, and just general love and support for the character.

But with recent insider revelations, I think we might be at an all-time low.

I was gonna post this drawing once I’ve finished the whole thing, but hey,

Let this happy marching Geno MS paint sketch give us some hope.

Exactly. Although I would take the Mii costume over nothing, I wouldn't be happy if a different SE character got in instead. This is what Sakurai and Nintendo were to do if this was the case - they would have to obtain the rights to Cloud, Geno, and whatever other SE character from SE. The reason Sakurai made Geno a Mii costume is because he wanted to add him as a character. With the recent IGN article, Reggie wants Sakurai's approach on the DLC, regardless of Sakurai tweeting that characters for DLC were suggested by Nintendo. It's still in Sakurai's hands. Sakurai would have to get the rights to a different SE character over a character he has much interest in to make a fighter. He still has the rights to Geno, but decides for whatever reason to keep him as a Mii costume.

This might just be my bias speaking, but having Geno return as a Mii costume and a different SE character getting in instead is just illogical

The idea of a character that has consistently placed at the top in polls for nearly a decade scoring alongside K. Rool and Ridley getting beat out by a character who has little traction and popularity is far from illogical, my friend.
