3 Days is at least a bit of time, it's not like it would be followed immediately same day or next. And if they do have AAA first party games to show, I'm not sure that the general demographic would be overshadowed by what Microsoft has. Not saying it might not have anything to do with it, but I dunno, doesn't seem like with the amount of time between it, it'd have made a difference.

That said, if that were the case, if they do announce one tomorrow for next week or announce one early next week for later next week, that could be part of it.

I think Battletoads isn't by Rare either, I think Fatman might be saying they were encouraged enough to loan out Rare IPs to other devs.

Yep, Rare has basically no interest in handling their legacy IP's internally at this point, even as, contrary to popular belief, a large number of the original team members do still work there. Killer Instinct, Battletoads, supposedly Perfect Dark, and even that weird Project Spark Conker thing were all done by different devs. Rare was never and still isn't a studio where their teams like to stick to one thing for very long. Now, if we do get something Banjo related in the future, I still don't know if I can see Microsoft working something out since I feel a new Banjo would be a huge draw for Gamepass. (not the SeX, its clear they're focusing heavily on crossplatform releases with PC and on being the most "pro-consumer" platform than being competitive with exclusives) I can't see Microsoft giving that up even if a new Banjo would probably do better on a Nintendo console.

Just so that people know what I'm talking about, I asked the Mii Costume Guy in-between if I had permission to share the following message if something came up in the X Box presentation suggesting the Perfect Dark rumors were true. Here's the original Mii Costume list I got back in December before a number of others were added by the end of the month. I decided to censor the Sony name because it's still a really cool surprise in my opinion:

Oh, I would love to see a Cadence costume. Here's hoping it brings Disco Descent with it. (Maybe even the DD remix from Cadence of Hyrule added to the Zelda songs!)

I saw it last night, still doesn't mean anything. I agree it's weird they'd update it considering there's literally no reason to at the moment, but we obviously didn't see anything today. I refuse to believe we won't get SOMETHING Banjo related in the future, (even if they bring back literally every other Rare IP first, who's ready for Mr.Pants 2?) but it's not happening super soon.

Except literally every single Xbox Game is also coming out on PC and will be apart of Game Pass on there as well. Microsofts angle this gen isn't focused on the console exclusively, it's focusing on the broader picture of PC and GamePass as a service.

It could just be ports of the originals though, Rare Replay is still too much but just the two Banjo games is feasible. I've honestly entertained the idea that rather than rereleasing them through the Eshop instead Nintendo and Rare would work out something with a hypothetical N64 Online and have the original versions of their N64 games on the service. That way there's a way to play the games on Switch, we can get Diddy Kong Racing rereleased finally, but Xbox still has the XBLA versions and it doesn't take alot of work from Rare.

Well, let me put it this way... Even if none of these are costumes, Mii Costume Guy basically caught wind of Perfect Dark, Cadence of Hyrule, Nier Automata, a PS5 launch game, etc news in DECEMBER 2019; that does a monstrous amount for his credibility. Again, this is the same guy that claimed Mallow and Smithy Mii costumes were eventually coming last summer and was correct about Banjo's Mii costumes, Terry's spirit board, and Byleth's stage and ALTs.

Rare Replay heavily relies on the Xbox 360 Backwards Compatability for a large amount of it's library, including Banjo and Perfect Dark. Porting it to anything would be a massive amount of work which is part of the reason It's basically the only big Xbox One game NOT on PC at this point.
