Not sure. Like I said earlier, King Zell's bent is that Nintendo and Microsoft were/are working on a big joint project together and it was always his thoughts that the project relates to Halo. The NoA source has never talked about Halo, Master Chief has never been a name heard for Smash, and the Master Chief Collection was pretty much always "his idea." This is why we entertained the idea in the spring that Banjo (or possibly Master Chief but much less likely) was going to come with Rare Replay (another common rumor at the time) and/or the Master Chief Collection at E3 and, again, the basis of my grand "Red Carpet" statement.So, in light of the Indie showcase today and the King Zell stuff, I really do have to wonder, and maybe
The question really is, is King Zell the only one pushing the Halo angle anymore, or has it been murmured about behind the scenes even after Banjo?
I understand haha, and I’m of the same opinion. What I was specifically talking to were the people earlier who were saying to the effect of “I don’t want Chief because it means Geno won’t get in”.

I mean... to be fair, with Doom being the grandfather of all FPS games alongside Wolfenstein, Halo probably wouldn't have existed without it. It's much like a Dragon Quest kind of thing. I don't agree with the Crash and Mario comparison either, but Doom's legacy really can't be understated.
Yeah as a Doom fan I unfortunately have to agree with this. But I want Doom Slayer more, basically because of like Sakurai said in the Terry video that a character doesn’t have to be recognizable. I think Doomslayer is a better choice than Master chief because of his faster speed and potential move set IMO, and that Doom has a larger impact on gaming than Halo. Halo might be more iconic but it didn’t make as big of an impact on gaming as Doom did.
It's pretty crazy to see. The fact that Fighter #5 has managed to stay such a well-kept secret is mind-boggling. The general visibility of the gaming community at large has never been so crazy and the fanbase has never been so far on the edge of their seat. I'm just worried that fighter #5 is going to end up a horrifyingly underwhelming conclusion to what would otherwise be an earth-shattering hype-gasm.

That's why there's a huge pushback against KOS-MOS. Also the fact that the Insiders seemingly killed off every other major pick that would end the pass on a high note
Doom has an impressive legacy for sure. But Halo's legacy also cannot be ignored. Halo was a killer app, full stop. It sold Xboxes, It had a big effect on the design of FPS games in general after it's release. Plus it more or less kept microsoft from falling out of the console game.
What is this in reference to? Any character in particular?
