Tbh, wouldn't even be mad, Tekken deserves a rep, regardless of how people feel about it. BUT THIS IS THE GENO THREAD. COME ON GENO.

Tbh i just want something. Every game save for MK had jas had an announcment, and it looks like Snake (WTF) is going to Tekken. Come on Nintendo, break the internet with them

He also said similar stuff about Villager, Pac-Man, the Miis and freaking Ridley.

He always includes characters so long as he wills them so.

Yeah, and I don't think that is factor against her. I doubt that would be taken into account when they would decide on her character.

No, he didn't for those characters. For Ridley, it was size. For Villager, it was the potential lack of material to work with, Miis being potentially limited etc. Not one was about moveset complexity. Tekken is well known for complex button combinations, and Smash is known for simpler inputs, so that creates a problem.

Honestly I’m more hoping for the announcement of an announcement because then more people will be able to see it live if they aren’t watching EVO. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, so it might be better for the general audience to wait.

Plus I really love seeing genuine reactions to Smash reveals on YouTube. After seeing Banjo hype, I can only imagine what a potential Geno trailer would do to the internet.

So do size and moveset limitations, yet look at where we are now. You're making Heihachi's issue look any more special than what it really is.

So you simplify the combinations, just like he made Ridley smaller, etc, i think you are overcomplicating the issue here

That, and if Tekken were to get a rep, it would be Jin first and foremost. He's been the main character of the series Tekken 3 onwards. Heihachi at best is the main antagonist

Ironically, Sakurai even stated that negotiations with Microsoft for Banjo were actually relatively easy. :ultpacman:

Joker is legit the first character I couldn't see revealed live because I didn't give a damn about the VGAs like millions of people lol...
Not saying a character reveal is gonna happen because it's 100000% not happening x)

So we are about a half hour, more or less, from Ultimate's grand finals at EVO.

I just wanna say that regardless of what happens, yall are a great fanbase I'm proud to be apart of. Even if the moment of truth is just around the corner, I still think it would be smart to expect the worst and hope for the best. While a lot points towards Geno finally having his moment, at EVO or otherwise, none of it is concrete as of now. And if Geno is a no-show, my only request is to not give up hope. We would still have one or two more slots for the Fighters Pass depending on what happens, and we still have things like Sakurai's comments on Geno, the absence of his Mii costume, and the fact Nintendo has already negotiated with Square a lot for this game. This isn't over until it's over, don't forget that.

I'll keep watching this thread if any last-minute developments come through, but I probably won't be posting until whatever happens happens. All we can do now is hope that the stars have aligned.

He's the series' most recurrent character, and Sakurai prioritizes fame over most things. Hence why Cloud made it into Smash instead of other protagonists.

I think it’s a factor since no other character is really like that at all, the closest is Lucina for a mid-game reveal in a game released a good year and a half before the Smash she first appeared in, unless you count Zelda/Shiek which is something that the game spoiled way back in Melee.

But anyway, all this FE spoiler talk is distracting from the main focus: We only have just over half an hour left until the finals begin, I’m excited.

Is there any connection between Starlings/Birds and Metal Gear? Cause the only two things I can think of as to why that Metal Gear thing was playing is 1) It has something to do with Smash 2) It was simply a troll or 3rd) they accidentally played their next reveal trailer for Tekken's 3rd character in their season.

I doubt that they played a trailer connected to Tekken's 3rd charcter so it's really up to it being a Troll or it being connected to Smash.

Welp. The possibility is there for something to happen. I am still in the "doubt" camp but the chance for anything for Ultimate to show anything is noticeable.

Crossing my fingers just in case.
